Chapter 115: RHETT WAS FRUSTRATED
"If I ended you right now, I can get your position as the gamma." Rhett hissed dangerously, but Rhett simply laughed at his attempt to threaten him.
"If you ended me right now, I am very sure Khaos will end you right away," Caiden smirked to see the look on Rhett's face. "Do you think he will choose you? We don't even know you."
Caiden patted Rhett's shoulder, but he swatted his hand rather harshly, thankfully the gamma had a great reflex, thus he could avoid the contact.
"You might have the cult behind you, but it doesn't mean we can't do anything without it." Caiden looked at him up and down, aggravated Rhett. "Let's make it clear here, you need Khaos, not the other way around."
Caiden leaned his back against the closed door, completely blocking Rhett's access to enter the room and he had no other choice, but to turn around and walk away.
Once Rhett left, he also left, but he took a second glance at the closed door. He wondered what would happen in the near future to the two of them.
Their attachment was not real and Khaos seemed to be affected by it. He was supposed to see her as a Shell, someone that he needed to use to achieve their goal, but Caiden could see he saw her differently.
Caiden was worried, Khaos's feeling would get in the way, though the alpha denied it, but his action said otherwise. He had never cared to anyone like that before.
Meanwhile, as at the same time, the royal warriors marched toward the River Creek pack. A hundred thousand warriors that was led by Silas and the royal gamma, Luca, would arrive within three weeks.
Because they moved in large number and in the winter, it slightly hindered their movement.
The people were in awed, because they had never seen this large number of royal warriors, but the older generations had seen one before, it was thirty years ago when the three kingdoms teamed up to massacre the old dynasty of the lycan.
The number of the royal warriors at that time was even more massive than this.
Some people were in awed, but some of them were scared, some were worried what would happen when two great powers in the kingdom clashed.

Needless to say, people knew the extent of Khaos's power and influence. It was still a mystery why all of sudden the king and the alpha were standing in the opposite side when they used to be the close siblings.
Not only that, with the winter was here and there was whisper about the problem with the ship that supposed to deliver their supplies for winter, people became restless.
"How did people know about the problem with the ship?!" Dacre screamed angrily toward the elders when he heard the news. "Who has spread the rumors?!"
The three elders looked at each other and they shook their heads. "My king, I think you should know by now that this must be alpha Khaos's doing. He used this tactic to create chaos among people and put you in bad light to start a fight with him when there are matters far more important than that."
"You know how Khaos used to play this game. You used... to be close."
He knew, but Khaos was very well prepared, as if he had guessed that he would turn his back against him. Since when did he notice it? Since when did he plan this counterattack?
"Khaos." Dacre said his name with venom on the tip of his tongue.
Meanwhile, the man who had driven the king of Celeste Kingdom crazy was currently attending to a single woman, who was still unconscious even after two days had passed.
"Why she has not yet woken up?" Khaos asked, his eyes focused on Zuri. Her face was rather pale and her breathing was shallow. "Is there something going wrong with the curses?"
Elijah checked on Zuri's condition. He was the head of the black magic users. The man had a pair of blue eyes that sparkled under the sun. He must be two or three years younger than Khaos, but the way he carried himself screamed authority.
All the magic users that joined this cult respected him, even those who were older than him, since he was the strongest one among them. He was the one, who had led the ritual since ten years ago.
Therefore, he had known Zuri ever since she was little, even though she would never know that, since the memories about the ritual would be erased right away to keep what they had done to her secret.
"No. There is nothing wrong with her. This might happen because she had gone for long time without her medicine. It's a surprise that she has not yet had a backlash during that period of time." Elijah looked at Khaos. "I believe the reason why she didn't have a backlash because of you, alpha. The Shell recognized the lycan."
Khaos didn't say anything and it took a week for Zuri to wake up. And for a week, the alpha spent most of his time inside the room, he would give order from there and only allowed Caiden to enter the room, where the gamma would distribute the order from him to the other warriors.
For Rhett, he was being very agitated because he couldn't meet with the alpha and his sister.
"Alpha, what have I done wrong? Why do you shoo me away?" Rhett asked from behind the closed door, knocking on it until Caiden told him to back off.
"Khaos, if you don't handle him, one day he will be a problem for us." Caiden watched Khaos was reading his reports, sitting on the edge of the bed with a small table next to him, piled with countless reports. "I don't like him, but you can't deny that he holds a massive power
with his creepy cult."
"Tell him to handle the ship."
