Chapter 107: A GLIMPSE OF ZURI'S FUTURE

Based on what Khaos had deciphered from the scriptures, hallucination was part of the side effect of the curses along with many more, it depended on the Shell's endurance.

But, all the Shell would be hallucinating at some point and when they reached this stage, it would be dangerous for them and all the people around her, because they could turn very violent, since they didn't recognize themselves or other people.

Hearing voices, creating stories in their head, feeling unsafe because they always thought someone might kill them and many more.

Based on the notes that was left behind, the last Shell managed to contain ninety eight curses, which left her with two more curses before it was completed, but her condition.... You could say that she was barely alive.

The Shell needed to be monitored all the time, chained and medicated to keep her alive. She was at the point where she didn't recognize her surroundings or herself. She lost all of her abilities to communicate.

Death would be a mercy at that point.

Khaos put down the notes and then looked at Zuri. All the thing that he read, would be her future. That was what happened to her and there was no way back. And now, she started to show the symptoms.

Khaos caressed Zuri's cheek and brushed away her hair. Her cheekbones were sharp enough to cut you.

Twenty three more curses before it was completed. She had to endure twenty three more before everything was over, but then what was left of her? Would she be back to normal?

That was a big question, since no one ever completed it, aside from the first lycan, but there was no record of that. There was only a sentence that described that and everything else was attempt after attempt.

[Call Rhett here and also the healer.] Khaos mindlinked his warriors and a few moment later, Rhett and a middle age woman, whose name he forgot entered the room.

Rhett glanced at Zuri, who was sleeping soundly, there was sadness in his eyes when he saw her condition, but he soon averted his gaze from her and looked at Khaos.

"I will answer all of your question," Rhett said solemnly. He took a chair and placed it opposite from Khaos, the healer did the same, but she sat a little bit behind Rhett, who was sitting on the edge of the bed, holding the scriptures and the notes.

"Why did you choose her?" Khaos turned his body and gave all of his attention to Rhett.

"Because of her body's constitution." Rhett glanced at the healer, whose hair was the color of ashes. She looked calm and collected, there was not an ounce of worry on her face. "You already knew that she has a natural killing intent, that's enough to know that she will be able to endure it."

Natural killing intent was something rare, even for shifter. It was true that their body's constitution was different. It was a simple logic.

"What happened after the beauty blood completed?"

Rhett smiled with excitement from the thought of it alone. "You will get an incredible power that no one can imagine. You will revive the old dynasty and rule the continent and when it happened..."

However, that was not the answer that Khaos was looking for. He had heard about it countless time from Ezra.

"What happened with her?" Khaos cut him off.

Rhett stopped himself and his eyes fell on Zuri again, they became sad. "We don't know for sure what will happen to her."

Khaos had expected the answer, he only wanted to make sure that they didn't have any additional information about it.

"You don't need to worry, once you are ready, I will let you know about the other people. We are stronger than you expected and our cult covers the entire continent. We have our eyes in every kingdom."

Rhett looked so proud when he talked about this cult. From the way he said it and how he looked at Khaos, it almost like they were worshippers, who thought the lycan dynasty was a dynasty of God, especially with the secret power that they had.

It fascinated them that such power existed in this realm.

Khaos was not thrilled to learn about it.

After a few discussion, he dismissed the two of them and read more of the scriptures. He didn't sleep a wink and when Zuri woke up the next day, she looked a little bit better, but she became a little bit clingy to him.

Two days later, the king was informed that Silas was on his way to the capital city with the warriors from Red Beast.

"Half of the team that we sent to River Creek pack died," Leonard said with a grim. He didn't like losing warriors, especially those he trained himself. As the royal beta, he was in charge for the Red Beast.

"But, the mission is a succeed, right?" Dacre played with the quill in his hand, he stared at the gloomy sky, the snow had been falling for the last two days. It was getting cold.

"Yes, but..." Leonard looked hesitated, as he searched for the right word to say it. "What is the point of taking Silas? He is useless anyway."

"Not really. We can use him in different way." Dacre smiled.

And the king was right, he indeed used Silas in different way because a week later, there was a rumor about Khaos's attempt to kill Silas because he wanted to take reign on River Creek pack, despite the fact the king had issued a decree that Silas would be the alpha of the pack after his father died, since he was the firstborn.

Of course, this rumor hit Khaos's reputation hard, especially when it was less than a year, since Khaos's punishment from killing one of the elders from River Creek pack and it allowed Dacre to issue another punishment for him, in order to limit his movement and power.
