Chapter 2420: Chapter 2420: Calculated Flattery
"Senior..."
Ye Mingmei stood up from the sofa, and before she could ask anything, Jin Chenye had already taken large strides out of the Ye Family house.
-
Private villa.
Qin Youxuan leaned on the sofa watching TV, while Tingye obediently stood behind her, his small hands thoughtfully massaging her shoulders.
The handsome little face showed a hint of seriousness, as if he were handling some big affair, occasionally asking Qin Youxuan if his strength was enough. His grown-up demeanor was quite amusing.
"Alright, tell mom, what do you want?" Qin Youxuan put down the remote control, turned around, and pulled the little guy into her arms.
Her bright cat-like eyes looked at his pretty little face, and she asked directly.
"Mom, I want to stay at grandpa’s house tomorrow." Tingye’s big black eyes blinked momentarily, responding decisively.
Qin Youxuan smiled, raised her hand, and tapped his little forehead.
"I knew your flattery had an ulterior motive, and you’re not even being polite to me. First, tell me why you want to stay at your grandpa’s house. Don’t tell me it’s because your grandpa misses you and you want to keep him company. Your grandpa misses you every day; you don’t have to wait until today to fulfill your filial duty."
"..."
Knowing her child well, Qin Youxuan’s words immediately revealed the excuse Tingye had prepared.
Tingye smacked his small lips, hesitated for a few seconds, and then spoke, "Today is the parent meeting, and Meimei doesn’t have a dad. I’m worried she might be unhappy, so I want to keep her company."
"Do you like Meimei?" Qin Youxuan’s cat-like eyes glimmered, with a hint of gossip in them.
Tingye had been like a little adult since he was young, making his own decisions as early as two years old. Qin Youxuan found it most frustrating that sometimes, as a mother, she couldn’t even guess what her son was thinking.
It was rare to have such an opportunity to probe into his thoughts, so she wasn’t going to hold back!
"Yes, I like her! Meimei is my little sister, and a brother must protect his sister." Tingye spoke earnestly, his mischievous big eyes sparkled, as he climbed into Qin Youxuan’s words.
"Did mommy agree?"
"Tomorrow isn’t the weekend yet. If you go, Jiang Nan will surely go too, and your Aunt Mingmei can’t handle you little devils. Wait until the weekend, and mom will go with you."
Qin Youxuan thought for a moment and then said lightly.
Meimei misses her dad, and the one who’s most upset should be Ye Mingmei.
In times like these, any comfort feels redundant. After three years, Ye Mingmei needs to find a way to cope and move on.
The most Qin Youxuan could do was to give her enough space.
Tingye opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but his eyes caught the person striding in from outside the door. He paused, "Uncle!"
"Where is Dan Hanjie? Where is he?"
Jin Chenye strode into the living room, looked at the sofa where Qin Youxuan and Tingye were, ignoring any greetings, directly asked.
Qin Youxuan was dazed for a few seconds before she remembered to ask, "Did something happen?"
"I have something to ask him, I just want to see him. Is he upstairs?" Jin Chenye said as his handsome figure bypassed Qin Youxuan, stepping towards the upstairs.
With a sharp pace, carrying a hint of inexplicable urgency, in a blink, he reached Dan Hanjie’s study, and seeing the unlocked door, he pushed it open.
Dan Hanjie’s towering figure sat in front of the desk, reclining in a swivel chair, with one hand pressing his temple and the other holding a phone, making a call.
Seeing Jin Chenye barge into his study, his charming eyes flickered slightly, "Let’s leave it at that, I’ll call you back another day."
