Chapter 43: Ch 43: Level Ups

"What! Master Verde is back?"

"Yes. This is him. Look at his face!"

The leader, Sarah, instantly rushed before him, then knelt on one knee.

"You have finally returned, O gracious one... Please give us guidance!"

Zelio, Zara, and the others also followed, kneeling down, looking at Verde’s mysterious figure with a worshiping gaze.

Adapting to a deep tone, Neo finally spoke:

"You have all passed the preliminary test by recognizing the path I intended you to follow. But now, I have an even grander mission."

Sarah said,

"We are ready to serve, Master. Those Crimson Banishers have pushed us into a corner, but with your guidance, we will take back the camp."

Raidan offered a faint, mysterious smile.

"The Crimson Banishers are merely a stepping stone. Your vision must stretch far beyond the petty squabbles of this refugee camp. The real threat lies in the encroaching apocalypse, and humanity needs strong, unwavering leaders to survive the coming storm."

Zelio and Zara exchanged a stunned look. Their master was thinking on a completely different scale.

With a smile, Raidan continued:

"I have observed your struggles. You possess the spirit of true protectors, but your current strength is severely lacking. Therefore, I shall grant you the means to shatter your limits before the sun rises."

Verde slowly raised his right hand, amd instantly shot several red Quests cards at everyone present.

Instantly, a series of glowing blue system notifications appeared before the eyes of every Verden Apostle present.

After reading them,.gasps of pure shock filled the room.

Even Sarah was stunned by the promised rewards.

These quests were incredibly simple, yet the experience and stat boosts attached to them were enough to turn a novice into an elite powerhouse in a single day.

Zelio was in disbelief.

"Master Verde, this... this is too generous. With these rewards, we can wipe out the Crimson faction in a matter of hours!"

"Power is useless if it is not wielded with purpose. I am giving you this strength so that you can become the great leaders humanity desperately needs. Do not let arrogance cloud your judgment. You must rule this camp with justice, compassion, and an iron will."

Sarah, being intelligent, immediately bowed her head until her forehead nearly touched the dirt floor.

"We will not fail you, Master. We will unite the Detroit Camp and protect the weak, just as you taught us."

Raidan turned around.

"See that you do..The path ahead of you is paved with unimaginable hardships. Monsters will besiege your walls, and corrupt men will try to tear down your peace. But you must never surrender to despair. Be great leaders for humanity."

He took a step to leave, but he did give his last piece of advice.

"And remember this well. No matter how dark the world becomes, Master Verde will be there to stand beside you always."

With a final tick and tock, Verde disappeared, leaving behind the golden watch.

Upon falling to the ground, it created an invisible, glowing dome around the Verdians.

Their experience points automatically began to rise with each passing second.

All of them quickly sat down to meditate. If Master Verde was right, they would gain five full levels just by meditating for two hours. Furthermore, they would acquire the Advanced Mana Control skill, which would be absolutely essential for long-lasting fights.

Raidan stood concealed just behind the tent, quietly watching them level up steadily.

After two hours, their quest was complete. Most of them received exactly what they were promised. Now, they were stronger than anyone else in the camp.

Raidan also received his Quest Originator rewards.

It did not stop there, of course.

Fourteen more returns were still flowing in, bringing an absolute wave of experience surging through his veins.

His level rose rapidly. At last, it settled at level 34.

The progress was mind-blowing. A twelve-level increase in just two hours!

However, the downside was that he received only sixty unassigned attribute points from those twelve level-ups. It looked painfully low. Perhaps compared to other awakened humans, his level-ups did not give satisfactory attribute points.

Thankfully, he had the Return Multiplier system on his side. Once they completed the second quest, he would gain mountains of attribute points.

With everything going according to the plan, Raidan decided to return to Olympus, to the familiar settings of Naida’s small apothecary shop.

He should have taken a rest, but since it was now morning in Olympus, he could not delay if he did not want to blow his cover.

However, upon arriving there, a different environment welcomed him.

"Uuuh... h-hic... please, no grandpa... sob..."

The sound of mournful cries, heavy choking sobs, and painful hiccups filled the entire house.

"Ah... h-hic... why did it have to happen... uuugh..."

It was unmistakably Naida’s voice, sounding completely broken and filled with raw agony.

Raidan had a very bad feeling about this.
