67 Tricks

“You’re all reckless youth!” Dr. Dall flared.

Jake laughed. “Didn’t you already know that from the very beginning? Anyway, what was the point of not stopping when we found out that there might be some things we need from here.”

Dr. Dall rolled his eyes.

They already had a lot of supplies inside that little cat’s space. If that was called lacking, he wouldn’t know what should be called as full.

But well.

If they could get more, who would reject having more resources?

Kyle glanced outside and saw that the number of giant insects had decreased a lot. They would occasionally spot some flying but didn’t stop to attack them. This allowed them to breathe a sigh of relief.

There were a lot of dead mutated giant animals around the half destroyed gas station. They seemed to have already experienced catastrophe before.

Anyway, the animals were not friendly towards each other.

.....

There were some conflicts with each other too.

“Meow...”

“Ugh...” Jake opened the door and felt like closing it right at this moment. Was there any gas leak or something?

“Wait here.” Kyle narrowed his eyes.

“I think it’ll be better for you not to use your ability or you might be roasted to death. It’s fine if it’s only you, but you’re carrying Little Kitty with you.” Jake walked out and a metal ball was following them behind. He controlled these metals to follow him all the time in case it was necessary to fight at a moment notice.

“I know.” Kyle could guess that there might be something who leaked inside. He walked towards the pump and pointed at it. “Is there anything you can take from here, Little Kitty?”

“Meow~.”

Kate conveniently took them into her space. Though, she actually wondered just how much supplies would be considered enough for these people. Hmm, it was quite weird to see this liquid suspended in her space as if there was a transparent container, though.

She looked at her space for a moment then looked away.

“Meow.”

“You’re fast, little one.” Kyle chuckled and then walked to the next one and repeated the same thing until Kate emptied all of them. With this oils, it would be more than enough for them to go back and forth several cities without stopping.

Heck, even if they want to circle the planet, it might be possible.

*rustle*

Hearing the faint voice from one direction, Kyle narrowed his eyes. He put Kate into his jacket’s pocket and took out a gun. At first, he thought that there was a leak of oil here, but it didn’t seem to be that way.

The smell was from some people pouring gasoline to burn some mutated giant animals to death nearby.

“Jake,” Kyle called in a low voice.

Jake nodded and moved forward. He pointed his gun to the person who was hiding behind the empty barrels.

“Aaaa, don’t kill me, don’t kill me...” a female voice could be heard.

Jake still pointed his gun at the woman, who lied on the ground while carrying a bundle in her hand. His eyes narrowed slightly.

“Who is it?”

“A woman with a child.”

“Meow?”

Kate peeked from the corner of the jacket and saw Kyle approached the woman while pointing his gun too.

The woman looked at the two of them and bowed down, begging them to spare her some food so that she and her child could eat. She was wearing ragged clothes and seemed to have suffered a lot in this place for the past few days.

Kate sighed with pity.

Some people were indeed unlucky enough to be abandoned in this rotten place out here. While some people could still enjoy the so called normalcy, others were fighting for their lives.

Not to mention, this woman still had a baby with her.

While Kate felt pity, Kyle narrowed his eyes. “Show me your baby.”

The woman’s expression changed. She shook her head and clenched the bundle in her hand tighter. It seemed as if she was afraid that they were here to bring the baby away from her.

‘Hmm?’

Kate suddenly felt that something was wrong.

Her new ability allowed her to see white dots and black dots from people, but she could clearly differentiate the dots between people. It was actually the difference in the number and also shapes.

After all, the white dots would follow the shape of a person even though it was faint and couldn’t be seen directly without the black dots.

There was clearly only one person in front of her.

Kate’s eyes landed on the bundle in the woman’s hand and could guess that it was just a fake baby that the woman used in order to gain pity.

Her heart chilled.
