329 Cracked Crystal
"Alright, you're a good girl: Kyle raised his hand and flicked Kate's forehead.
"Ouch!"
"Stop snacking so much."
"Hehehe." Kate stuck out her tongue playfully and then looked at the device Kyle had made. The shape was not much different from MRI device though there seemed to be some addition here and there.
She had been helping Kyle but she had to admit that her small brain was not enough to digest all the information Kyle gave to her. He knew too much while she knew too little. It took her longer to be able to even understand half of what Kyle mentioned to her.
But that was more than enough.
She was just a helper.
Dylan also came over from time to time to help with the machine. He said that he was interested and wanted to have a share for his family.
Seeing him like this, Kate was absolutely sure that Dylan really did come from a merchant type family. He didn't show it much on daily basis, but when there were things that he could take part to obtain profit, he could sniff it faster than anyone.

Unfortunately, it was extremely difficult for those of this fusion ability to grow.
If not for Kate to get that gem and crystal, she knew that she would never be able to reach this rank so quickly.
After this, her rate of growth returned to her usual talent.
But she realized that even with her good talent that allowed her reverse healing and space ability to grow fast, this fusion ability was 100 times slower. Without any resources, it would be impossible for anyone to even reach rank 1.
They would forever be in the dark of this terrifying ability they could possibly have.
But that might be for the best because if they reached rank 1 without being able to control this ability, they would fuse with the first creature they came into contact with. And that creature couldn't be human nor those giant mutated animals that couldn't think.
It had to be normal animals or plants that had the crystal and their own mind.
You don't have to think too much about it! Kyle patted Kate's head.
"I cant return your cat" Kate shook her head. When she first realized that this ability was fusion ability, she tried to return Kyle's cat. But then she realized that the fusion ability had time limit. Once the time limit was crossed, the fusion would last forever.
It meant that she would have this two forms forever.
But if she fused with other animals, she could make it temporary and return their appearance again in the future. For these animals, it was nothing more than sleeping. They would not remember anything and Kate could technically 'borrow' their body for a short period of time.
It was a rather scary ability.
But the requirement was for her to reach higher rank in the fusion ability first. If not, she couldn't even attempt to fuse with another animal.
Even now, Kate knew that her limit was only two.
Since the first fusion had already become permanent, it meant that she could only fuse with another animal or mutated plants that had no intention to harm humans.
"I don't miss that naughty kitten.Kyle's face was calm.
Kate rolled her eyes. 'The space ability originally belongs to your cat."
Kyle's eyes flashed with surprise and then nodded. it's yours now.
"Yeah, it is" Kate smiled and sighed.
