235 Night Talk <2>
Seeing Lucy’s expression, Kate knew that what she asked might be something that was impossible to be done. She herself knew that even as a rank 6 space awakened, it was impossible for her to keep the barrier up when she was sleeping.
These abilities were not magic that could sustain itself without her watching at all. She still had to make sure that she was keeping watch and all.
It was certainly impossible for her to do that.
“Anyway, there are no giant mutated animals in the city… I think it should be fine for us to keep guard while the other is sleeping?” Kate asked again.
Lucy sighed. “I know you feel that it’s not comfortable to keep guard. Let’s hope that we’re fine with the others nearby.”
“Yeah.”
Looking at the side, Kate noticed that Kyle’s house was located not far from theirs. The corner of her lips tugged to form a faint smile. Perhaps, without her knowing it, she had already associated Kyle’s presence with the word safe.
She had always been staying with him and being protected by Kyle.
It has long become a habit.

“Hey, hey, don’t start giving me dog food when we’re talking about serious matters here,” Lucy interrupted Kate’s thought when she saw the other party’s smile. As a person who loved gossips so much, she clearly knew what Kate’s smile represented.
She had seen more than enough friends of her fall in love before that she clearly knew how it looked like when they were thinking about their partner. It was just that she was not that close to those friends of hers.
When these changes happened and these giant mutated animals appeared, she simply failed to contact them anymore. By now, Lucy didn’t know whether these friends of hers was still alive or not.
Then again, she didn’t care that much.
She just hoped that they were living well.
Even amidst these giant mutated animals, there were still some cities that were functioning and strong people stood up to protect the others. That way, there was still a chance of survival, no matter how slim it might look like right now.
“I’m not,” Kate defended herself weakly.
Lucy rolled her eyes. “I know better than others about this kind of matter. Anyway, it’s more important for us to determine whether you or I guard first… and when you’re the one who’s guarding, you better not make a move.”
Because once Kate made a move…. It was estimated that her opponent would die miserably.
It was not like Kate couldn’t control her power or anything like that. It was because Kate’s abilities were simply too strong for them to face these ordinary people. If people below the rank of 6 were to attack Kate, it was estimated that they would die a gruesome death.
After all, even a group of giant mutated animals still died under Kate’s hand when they were fighting in the past.

Kate watched Lucy’s back helplessly. What should she do if her best friend was so sharp. She felt so embarrassed right now.
Back in the past, she never thought about whether she would be the topic of gossip in Lucy’s mouth. But now that she had truly become one, Kate only felt that she was truly embarrassed.

Since it had already happened, she might as well pay a visit to Kyle. Looking around, Kate wondered whether there was any surveillance nearby or not. If there were to be any surveillance, she definitely couldn’t turn back into a cat here.
Kate didn’t want to give those researchers another reason to try finding excuses to be able to research her.
“Kate, why are you standing here?” Kyle noticed Kate standing in front of her door and smiled faintly. He himself was thinking of paying a visit to Kate under the excuse of walking around, so this should be good.
“I’m thinking of taking a short walk during the night,” Kate replied and smiled back. Being able to see Kyle at this height made her able to look at his expression clearer. After all, a cat’s height was not exactly tall and if Kate wanted to stand in front of Kyle to see his expression, she had to use a table or something to be taller.
“I was also thinking the same thing. Would you like to take a short walk to the wall?”
“Sure.”
The two of them walked forward.
At the back, Jake was watching the two of them walked away and clicked his tongue. “Tsk, tsk, I didn’t expect that even during this kind of time, they will still have time to have a date.”
“…And what are you exactly doing here?” Marc looked at Jake speechlessly. Does this man also have the hobby of spying other people’s date?
He would always stay away when his friends were dating.
