215 Home <3>

That day, Kate helped General Ryan until it was lunch time and General Ryan happily brought her back to the research institute. With her help, one trip was all they actually needed to transport all of the materials.

This made General Ryan lamented that Kyle was truly pampering her.

Being given so much crystals and gems, it had caused her to be able to level up so quickly. Not to mention, her special physique helped this matter greatly.

She could digest everything so quickly that there was no need for others to worry that they would overfed her. And when everything was digested, her rank would be raised naturally.

How easy it is for her.

“Thank you for taking her back, General Ryan.” Kate’s Mother was a bit flattered when she saw General Ryan personally took Kate back. Seeing her own daughter on the general’s shoulder, she even felt a bit embarrassed.

General Ryan laughed. “It’s nothing much. Instead, I should thank her to lessen the burden of the workers.”

“It’s nothing much.” Kate giggled and moved to her mother’s embrace. She happily clung there and looked in General Ryan’s direction. “If Uncle Ryan needs my help, Uncle Ryan just need to say it.”

“Hahaha, I don’t need any help right now.” General Ryan laughed. “You should eat a lot so that you can grow up faster. I’ll return back to my work now.”

.....

Kate’s Mother thanked General Ryan and then carried her daughter to the small room in Kate’s Father’s lab. She had already cooked enough food for their lunch.

“It’s soup?” Kate’s eyes lit up.

“There are some fresh vegetables that had started to mature.” Kate’s Mother smiled. “Those of wood elements are very helpful and allowed the plants to grow up faster, which allowed us to eat vegetables.”

Kate nodded happily. “Then, let’s eat.”

“Wait for your father. He should finish his report soon.”

“Okay!”

Not long afterwards, Kate’s Father came to the small room and the three of them had a hearty meal together. They were all happily enjoying their time together. For a moment, Kate even thought that they were back to the time before the mutation occurred because she would eat together with her parents from time to time when she had time.

After that short lunch, Kate’s Father returned to her work while Kate stayed with her mother to clean up the small room. There were not many items there, but it looked quite warm.

“Mom, are there any dormitory?”

“Yes, there will be dormitory for the scientist family members. Your father applied so that I can stay here, but I would need to sign some non-disclosure agreement.”

Kate nodded. Considering that her father now started doing research that was important for the nation, it was only natural that the people around him would have to sign agreement to make sure that they would not leak any of the content out.

Kate’s Mother looked at her daughter and then asked in a low voice, “Kate, do you also want to stay here?”

“Huh?” Kate looked at her mother.

“I know that you’re worried about us, but if you really want to stay with us, no one will actually stop you. And with your abilities, the nation will be stupid to hurt you.” Kate’s Mother looked at her daughter earnestly.

Kate stared blankly.

It would be a lie to say that she didn’t miss staying with her mother and father like she used to be. But after living by herself for more than two months and accompanying Kyle all these times, she had also started to think a lot.

She wanted to stay but she didn’t want to cause trouble for her parents.

Even if the nation wouldn’t hurt her because she was strong, she knew that things wouldn’t be that simple after she revealed her true abilities. Kate didn’t want to put her life in the hand of others.

“Not now, Mom. Don’t worry about me out there. I live well now.” Kate smiled brightly.

Kate’s Mother looked at her daughter and sighed deeply. She knew how stubborn her daughter could be when she had decided on something. “In that case, I’ll take you back to your room, ok?”

“Yes!”

Kate looked at the clock. It was only 3, so Kyle will take some time before he would come back. There was a small stove in the space, so maybe she could try to prepare him dinner?

With that in thought, Kate rushed to her room.

Kate’s Mother looked at her daughter and sighed. When a daughter grew up, it was indeed impossible to keep her.

Kyle and the others easily cleaned up a lot of giant mutated animals. Their abilities were simply overkill when compared to these weak giant mutated animals, so their battle was quite simple.

Most of these giant mutated animals were still at much lower ranked than them.

The tiring part was when they had to gather the crystal cores from these giant mutated animals’ corpses.

When they were done, it was already time for dinner.

“I’m so hungry. Where are you going, Kyle?”

“Go back.” Kyle waved his hand. The others looked at each other and didn’t bother with Kyle anymore. Anyway, they knew that he must be missing his little cat who was not with him for the day.

Picking up his pace, Kyle walked to the research institute. Not having Kate in his arm made him feel somewhat annoyed. It felt that there was something missing, yet he couldn’t exactly put it into words just what was missing.

Her presence?

Her help?

Kyle didn’t know, but he just felt more irritable without having Kate around him. Walking down the stairs, Kyle stopped in front of his room. Would Kate be in his room or was she busy staying with her parents or even staying with his father?

He hesitated for a bit and then pushed the door open.

Kate had already returned to her cat’s form since it was the most comfortable. Upon seeing the door opened, Kate greeted Kyle obediently.

“Meow” <Welcome home>
