191 City F <2>

“There are several people nearby.” Lotte frowned. “They’re trapped in the building.”

“This…” Lica looked a bit embarrassed. Their coming here had two purposes. One was to check the gem and the other was to rescue these survivors.

What should they do if they truly find that there were survivors? Can they finish the two missions swiftly?

“Split into two.” Kyle glanced at the others. “Lotte, you bring Marc, Jake, Lucy, and Robby to rescue people. I’ll go with Lica, Dylan, and Little Kitty to find the gems.”

“Would that be appropriate?” Jake was stunned. He and Robby were both metal elements. It would have been more beneficial for Kyle to separate them so that they could be used in different situation.

“The gems are estimated to be located within the water tunnel because the research institute is connected to it.” Kyle glanced at Lica who didn’t refute his words. “I will need Dylan more than you who can be used to lift those metals that trapped people.”

Jake was speechless.

Why did it feel that Kyle was telling him that it was more useful to bring Dylan because he could control water while he could be used to rescue people from building?

Looking at these buildings, Jake sighed deeply.

.....

He felt that he had truly become a builder.

Even when they were doing missions, he ended up having to take care of these buildings again. Jake lamented that life’s trajectory was indeed very weird.

If it was possible, he wanted to return to the time when he first awakened and told himself to awaken other element but metal.

That way, he wouldn’t become the builder in the group.

“Let’s go.”

With that split method, they all went on their separate way.

Lucy used her super strength to lift rock while Marc moved the soil and Robby moved the metals part. Lotte searched for more survivors while Jake was busy moving the cars away from the dangerous areas.

They tried their best to rescue the people who had been buried deep within these rubbles because of those damn giant mutated animals.

Drap! Drap! Drap!

“It’s here.” Lica looked at the deformed building and sighed deeply. She could remember the time when she worked here in the past and the areas around it. Looking at the giant mutated animals around them, she frowned.

There were too many giant mutated animals and added the fact that there were gems here… it was far from good news.

These giant mutated animals would be able to advance faster with the help of the gems, which meant that there would be more and more stronger giant mutated animals around.

“Meow.” <Leave them to me>

Kate waved her small paw and the giant mutated animals all dropped to the ground. Her efficiency had gotten even faster as her rank increased. These giant mutated animals didn’t even need to be close to her when Kate began her work.

She could easily settle them.

“Open the door below.”

Bang!

Kyle used his fire element, melting the area around the door, causing it drop to the ground with a loud voice.

“Anyone inside?” Kyle looked at Kate.

“Meow.” <Just some giant mutated animals>

Kate could still recognize their shape after having this ability for a long period of time. At the very least, she was capable of differentiating between humans and giant mutated animals.

“Ok.”

With that, Kyle allowed Kate to kill them all before they jumped down. The area below was somewhat tragic as there was a large hole at the side, which directly showed the pitiful state of the underground tunnel.

It was water tunnel that had been flooding the area. The sign of destruction showed that countless giant mutated animals had passed by the area and might even fight bitterly not long ago.

“Where?” Dylan asked.

Lica bit her lower lip. “I’m not sure where its hidden, but it should be around this area. Also, there might be more powerful giant mutated animals at the front because they’re close to the exposed gems.”

“How many of those gems are there?” Kyle asked while narrowing his eyes. He could sense the giant mutated animals were coming.

If there were too many strong giant mutated animals, they might need to send more backups to this place and aborted the mission.

While the reward of the mission was lucrative, it was useless if they couldn’t return alive.

“It was divided for 10 countries with the same amount. In our nation, it’s divided into 10 research institute and City F is included. Aside from City F, there’s also City G and City H.”

“City J?”

“No, that city is not included because the nation built an independent research facility.” Lica shook her head.

Hearing that, Dylan thought of some of his relatives who were staying in City J and felt that it was unlikely for those awakened who lived in City J to advance faster. Even if there were giant mutated animals around, they didn’t have these gems to help them advance.

It seemed that it wouldn’t be hard for him to deal with those people if it was necessary.

After that, Dylan simply tossed the matter to the back of his head. He didn’t want to care about his so called distant relatives too much.

Thinking more about them would be nothing more than wasting time.

If they still wanted to go against him, he will just freeze them all with his ice element. With his current rank, it would be easy.

“Let’s deal with these giant mutated animals while searching for the gems first.”

“Ok.”

Splash! Splash!

Dylan noticed these giant mutated animals approaching and lifted his hand. The water shook, forming several water blades.

Slash! Slash!

With swift motion, these giant mutated animals were killed easily.

However, Dylan frowned. “Rank 5.”

“Rank 5?” Lica was stunned. She was only rank 4, if she were to be left behind by these people… how tragic would her fate be?

Just the thought made Lica afraid.
