Chapter 217: Tears
“Tang Li!” Fang Lin called out hoarsely. He can only stare at Tang Li, who was currently convulsing from the effects of the attack.
Blood flowed freely from her stomach which has been pierced by the needle-sized light beam. Tang Li, who was asleep earlier was now awake and whimpering in pain.
“It hurtsh...... Mom.....Sis......” Tang Li cried out as she clutched her tummy miserably. Tears pooled from her eyes as she tried to call out her beloved and sister. But even this was interrupted as she began to cough up blood.
“Kehoff kehoff. Mom..... Sis........”
Fang Lin’s heart was broken upon seeing Tang Li in such a tragic state. He immediately split himself into Fang Lin and Fang Yu.
Fang Yu rushed in and cradled the trembling Tang Li. She caressed her back with her left hand as she consoled the scared Tang Li.
“It’s going to be alright Tang Li... You are a strong baby right?”
“Wuwuwu it hurts Sis...”
At that moment Fang Yu disregarded secrecy as she used the life seal on her left hand. With her breakthrough to the Second Stage, her abilities related to her Marks have skyrocketed too. The amount of life energy she had on her life symbol was now exponentially higher than before. She infused this monstrous amounts of life energy that she had in to Tang Li’s damaged body.
Fang Yu sighed in relief when she saw Tang Li’s body starting to recover. Even Tang Li who was crying from the pain had her expression cleared now. The life energy given by Fang Yu clearly acted as an anaesthetic that removed the pain from Tang Li’s injuries.
Just a minute passed by, and Tang Li’s injuries were already half-way on healing. Determination flashed on Fang Yu’s eyes as she infused more life energy on Tang Li’s body.
Wang Hao, who was relegated as a watcher, watched with wide eyes when he saw the life energy used by Fang Yu. He scratched his nose while thinking,
“I think I must have a good spar with my disciple later...”
“Sis... Ish Tang Li okay now?” Tang Li asked as she stared at Fang Yu with her innocent eyes. “It doeshn’t hurt now.....”
Fang Yu smiled and was about to say that Tang Li was fine now when she saw something worrying.
Even though Tang Li’s injuries were about to be healed, Fang Yu could still feel Tang Li’s life slowly fading away! It was as if Fang Yu’s given life energy was not able to stop her from dying! Fang Yu’s life energy was able to slow down Tang Li’s detoriation, but it will only be a matter of time until Tang Li dies!
“What is happening Master?” Fang Yu asked as she looked at Wang Hao with a panicked expression on her face. She already gave Tang Li so much life energy that healed her injuries, yet she was still dying? This makes no sense!
“Sis.... Where are you.... I can’t shee you....” Fang Yu’s expression turned worse when she heard what Tang Li said. Tang Li slowly losing her senses was an indicator that she was nearing her death!
Wang Hao frowned and used his energy sense to scan Tang Li. His face then crumpled when he discovered the reason for Tang Li’s fading life force.
“That light beam was a double-pronged attack!”
Wang Hao realized that whoever created that attack was quite a meticulous person. At first look that light beam was only a physical attack. But it was also a soul attack!
As long as this light beam hits its target, not only the target’s body will be destroyed, even their soul will be damaged!
These two complementing attacks were sure-kill attack!
Tang Li was surely a dead person if that entirety of the light beam hit her. Fortunately with Wang Hao’s intervention, only a needle-sized light beam hit her.
But even that was about to kill Tang Li now!
“Tang Li’s soul was also damaged by that attack. The life force you gave her might help her body, but it can’t help her soul to recover.” Wang Hao said curtly to Fang Yu. “That means what you are doing now was of no help at all. You have no way to heal her soul.........”
“Why are you saying that master!” Fang Yu could not stop her tears as it flowed down from her eyes. She found it harder to speak as she became choked with emotions. “You can manipulate soul because it’s a type of energy right? Then help Tang Li!”
Her pleas were exemplified by Tang Li weakly grasping Fang Yu as she her breathing turned shallower and shallower. This only made the panic in Fang Yu’s eyes more prominent.
“I can manipulate souls, but you must know that each soul was a complicated structure! Modify one part, and it can affect everything! I can repair the damage in Tang Li’s soul, but I cannot assure that her soul will be the same after that! At best, she survives with an incomplete soul. At worst, her soul disintegrates into nothingness!”
“Master, how about your storage? You have strong medicines there right? Use it on Tang Li!” Fang Yu shouted desperately. “You said you are the best right? Please help her!”
“I have some that can help her, but it’s sealed.....”
“Thud.” Fang Yu sat back, clearly stunned of what Wang Hao said. She looked at him desperately as he asked him,
“Does that mean that even you could not help her?”
Wang Hao could only grit his teeth as he bowed his head down sadly. It was clear from his expression that even he was hurt from what was happening to Tang Li. In the end he could only say,
“I’m sorry.....”
“Noooo!!!!” Fang Yu said as she hugged Tang Li’s body that was turning cold now. She could feel Tang Li’s heartbeat slowly disappearing, with each beat coming longer than the one preceding it..... Even her bright, vibrant face was now deathly pale. It was only a matter of seconds until her time comes.
Tang Li slowly caressed Fang Yu’s tear-stricken face. Even though she could not see her face, Tang Li still did her best to feel her Sis.
Tang Li then used the last of her strength to mutter,
“Sis.... Milk...”
“.....” Upon seeing the devastated expression on Fang Yu’s face, Wang Hao could not help but to be emotional too. Tang Li was clearly someone who does not deserve to be treated like this. But because of his carelessness, Tang Li’s life was jeopardized!
“Sigh.... so it comes to this then...” Fang Yu and Wang Hao heard a sigh echoing beside them. They looked towards the source of the sound, but they saw nothing. Suddenly that spot started to form ripples that turned larger until it was a size of person.
A woman then stepped out of the ripples, who gave a tight smile to Wang Hao and Fang Yu.
Her beauty, washboard chest and perky butt clearly indicated who she was.
She was Empyrea, who was missing in action after Fang Yu was kidnapped!
She gave the stunned Fang Yu and Wang Hao a determined look as she said,
“I might have a way to save this baby.”
