Chapter 216: Needle
Wang Hao let out a shout as he attempted to dodge the silver blade. Even with his bloodline ability, he felt as if this blade can actually damage him!
He wasted no time as he channelled kinetic energy on his legs. But no matter what he did, he found himself unable to move.
“Is this how I will die?” Wang Hao thought as he closed his eyes in resignation. He tried to use the moment before he was struck by the blade to remove his bindings on the Space-Time Gyroscope.
That way, his disciple will not be affected by the silver blade.
But before Wang Hao could do this selfless deed, he felt the silver blade suddenly disappearing.
He looked at Thea, who was now deathly pale. She clearly did something to stop that silver blade from reaching Wang Hao. And what she did it clearly took a lot out of her.
She only managed to give Wang Hao a look that means ‘You owe me one’ before she slumped back to the floor, once again unconscious.
“This is the third time you were out cold...” Wang Hao smiled as he gave the slumbering Thea a bow. They just met for about 5 minutes and yet she did her best to save Wang Hao.
That kind of dedication means this woman fully trusts Wang Hao.
But the others were clearly not as trusting as her.
The door to the room opened once more, and in poured the other ship’s inhabitants. When they saw a sweaty Wang Hao and a sleeping Thea on the floor, their imaginations run wild once again as they gave Wang Hao suspicious looks once more.
“I did not do anything to her I swear..”
“You’ve been saying that since earlier but look what happened to her?” Bloodspear replied coldly. “You know what, why don’t you wait outside first.”
Wang Hao was unceremoniously kicked out of the room. The others were clearly leery of Wang Hao already. They told him that they will be the one to do the talking to Thea. As for Wang Hao, he was tasked on guarding the still glowing Tang Li in the living room.
“Sigh.” Wang Hao’s morose feelings were wiped away by the adorable Tang Li. Even while she was in the midst of awakening, her cuteness never failed to make Wang Hao feel fluffy.
But even her adorable flailings failed to remove Wang Hao’s worries about the silver glow that appeared on Thea’s body.
“What the hell was that thing?” Wang Hao was visibly frustrated by the turn of the events. “From what I see, her body was definitely related to the seal. But why did that glow attack me?”
Wang Hao then remembered the reaction of the silver glow when his third petal was unlocked. “From the looks of it, that silver glow only attacked me after my third petal was unlocked. Does that mean everytime I unlock the seal, that silver glow will appear to exterminate me?”
Wang Hao’s expression then turned for the worse as he thought to himself,
“Don’t tell me her unique constitution was meant to deal with me?”
Wang Hao gritted his teeth as he realized that even now, the person who sealed him wanted to be sure to hinder Wang Hao.
He does not know how, but he was sure the person who sealed Wang Hao was the reason for Thea’s unique constitution.
“That unknown bastard still messes with me even now.....” Wang Hao gritted his teeth, visibly pissed with that person. What made him more confused was the illogical way that person managed things.
“If that person just sealed me and even gave me a chance to unseal the seal, then why did he/she create a constitution like Tang Ya’s that will actually kill me when I unlock a part of the seal?”
These actions were clearly self-contradictory. Upon knowing this, Wang Hao realized that this matter was actually way more complicated than what he thought before.
“.....’ Wang Hao’s brooding thoughts were then disturbed by an enthusiastic shout from his spatial pocket.
“Master! I broke through!” Wang Hao heard Fang Lin shouting happily from his spatial pocket. Despite his worrying discoveries, Wang Hao was elated by Fang Lin’s happiness.
“That’s great! How do you feel right now?”
Fang Lin, who was inside in the spatial pocket, clenched his fists tightly as he said,
“I feel like power was flowing through my whole body.”
Wang Hao sighed as he replied,
“That’s a very cliché answer you know.”
“Master, can you please cut me some slack?”
“Ok, ok.” Wang Hao said dismissively. His look suddenly turned stern as he asked him,
“What is the grade of your insights, the quality of your foundation, and mana conversion?
“Earth Grade, 60% and 15% respectively master.” Fang Lin replied quickly
“Hahaha! As expected from my disciple!” With him not able to cultivate, Wang Hao was not sure if Fang Lin’s answer represents that he was a genius. But he still have to praise him since that’s what a master should do.
As for his new abilities, Wang Hao did not ask of it. Right now was the moment to talk about it, since they will still have time to do that later. Besides, he had a more important matter to tackle.
“Hey Fang Lin, care to tell me what happened to your bloodline?”
Fang Lin then explained to Wang Hao on how he decisively abandoned his Yin-Yang insights and replaced it with the insights of Duality.
“......” Wang Hao does not know whether he should laugh or cry from the reckless action of his disciple. Fang Lin surely loves surprising anyone.
“Well, at least what he did helped him a lot.” Wang Hao thought wryly to himself.
“Hey master, why is my cultivation still at the Second Stage? I thought it will be suppressed.”
Wang Hao then explained about the independence of his spatial pocket. After hearing this, Fang Lin’s expression turned dim as he said,
“Does that mean I will be suppressed at the First Stage if I go out? I would rather just stay here first then.”
Wang Hao then manipulated the spatial pocket to flick Fang Lin on his forehead.
“Don’t worry about that Fang Lin. This Underworld Suppressing Formation will disappear later. Once that happens, I can bring you out and you will not be suppressed.”
“How are you sure about that master?”
Wang Hao sighed as he started to tell Fang Lin about his adventures on the Underworld.
Once Wang Hao was done telling about his story, he awaited for Fang Lin’s reply.
“Yeah, that was cool master. But if you are spearheading the invasion, then why are you removing the Underworld Suppressing Formation? Won’t that hinder the invasion?”
“Ah, it was because of Tang Li.”
“Tang Li?”
“You might not know it, but because of their sentience, the Underworld usually avoids to invade Sixth to Ninth Grade Planets. Thus, they focus their attention on First to Fifth Stage Planets. With this planet nearing the Sixth Stage, there is no more sense to occupy it. So I ordered this invasion to be called off.”
“You can do that master?” Fang Lin asked incredulously.
“Of course I can, I am a Prince of the Underworld you know.” Wang Hao replied smugly. “Since I have a good reason to call off the invasion, they will have no problems with me. Right now, it was only me from the Underworld that’s here. I commanded my army to go back to the Underworld. Now that they were gone, the next thing that I will do was to remove this formation.”
“Then do it now master! I want to go out already.”
“Ok ok.” Wang Hao clicked his fingers, and the Underworld Suppressing Formation disappeared entirely.
Once he did this, everyone in the Solstice Kingdom felt their cultivation bases returning, Shouts could be heard in Fang Lin’s spirit ship as everyone there regained their cultivation.
Once he did this, Wang Hao immediately brought Fang Lin out. Fang Lin’s foot landed on the floor of the spirit ship as he looked at Wang Hao with a grateful expression.
Words were not enough to express the gratitude that Fang Lin was feeling right now. Fang Lin knew that he would not have reached this stage if it were not for Wang Hao. It was him who changed Fang Lin’s life for the better.
“Master....”
Fang Lin was about to say something to Wang Hao when he saw Wang Hao’s face turning pale.
Wang Hao was like this because of what he saw.
The formations laid down by the Immortal Conclave on the Solstice Kingdom suddenly changed after Wang Hao removed the Underworld Suppressing Formation.
They turned into a beam of light that suddenly plunged down towards Fang Lin’s spirit ship! The attack was so sudden that Wang Hao was barely able to absorb the attack.
However, that attack was so fast that Wang Hao was not able to absorb it all. An extremely small part of the beam, about the size of a thin needle was able to hit its intended target.
“Puchii!”
Now, even Fang Lin turned pale. He and Wang Hao rushed towards the victim, who was now starting to bleed from the strike of the needle-sized attack.
“Tang Li!”
