Chapter 155: Symbols
When Fang Yu lost her consciousness, her mind controlling her body went and fused back to Fang Lin. As for her body, it was still out on the battle site.
“Hmm?” Fang Lin, who was in the form of Fang Xiushang, clearly felt what happened to Fang Yu.
Once he realized that his Yin Body fell into a deep slumber, he knew that something was up.
He then recalled Fang Yu’s memories before she was affected by the needle. From what he can infer, Fang Lin knew that only one person could have done this to Fang Yu.
And that person was Long Juo.
She was the one nearest to Fang Yu, and she was on Fang Yu’s right side, where the needle could have possibly come from.
“That damn vixen!” Fang Lin was extremely pissed at this point. He cursed his unlucky star for the kidnappings Fang Yu received today.
Two! It was two! Fang Lin was not happy on how today had turned out. From what he can see, this expedition to the Solstice Kingdom seems to have invited all sorts of troubles for him and Fang Yu.
But now was not the time to feel rage and indignation.
Fang Lin knew that he had to do something now, or his Yin Body will surely be taken away. With his connection to Fang Yu, Fang Lin can still feel her location.
Right now, she was still on the same spot where she lost her consciousness, not moving at all. But Fang Lin did not dare to wait to see what will happen next.
He used his bloodline ability, and fused the unconscious Fang Yu with his body. Even though he was in his original form now, Fang Lin still kept up with his disguise as Fang Xiushang.
“Bang!”
Fang Lin felt an ancient power erupting inside his body. He could feel a powerful energy flowing inside him, slowly strengthening each cell of his body.
Fang Lin definitely knew that this energy just appeared right now, after his fusion with Fang Yu. He hurriedly inspected his body, curious to discover more about this energy.
There, he saw something extraordinary.
Fang Lin’s Yang Body followed the Immortal Path that relies on the use of qi, while his Yin Body was on the God Path that uses mana. Each of these power sources were incompatible with each other, since their origins were different. But Fang Lin was the Yin-Yang Beast.
When he fused his bodies together, the qi and mana inside his bodies fused too. They completely ignored the incompatibility rules and mixed into one form. This fusion produced a new type of energy that now flowed in his body.
Fang Lin looked incredulously at this mixture of mana and qi that now resides on his body. His mind shuddered as his bloodline memories flared up. His bloodline memories showed him that this new energy has some incredible uses. Sadly, due to his limited cultivation base, he cannot access all the said benefits. If he wants to fully utilize this energy, he had to wait until he breaks into higher stages.
But even now, the power boost granted by this energy was more than enough to aid Fang Lin.
Fang Lin then used his bloodline memories to trigger the first benefit brought by the energy; Body Tempering!
Right now, the scorching heat of his Yang Qi and the frigid cold of his Yin Mana started tempering his body perfectly. Even if Fang Lin had a perfectly refined body, he could feel that the new energy can still strengthen his body!
The heat and the cold were perfectly balanced, ensuring that his cells will experience the destruction and creation from this two opposing concepts. Since they were equal, they were not able to dominate each other, ensuring that his body experienced the tempering of cold and heat at the same time.
But Fang Lin did not feel any discomfort from this. He could even say that his body was being born anew. The continuous cycle of heat and cold continued until his body could not be affected by it anymore.
He clenched his fists, clearly aware that he had gone through a whole metamorphosis! The combined concepts of Yin and Yang upgraded his body’s status.
Now, he had the legitimate Yin-Yang Body!
Even if Fang Lin could split himself into a Yin and Yang Body before, he found that for some reason, he could not form a Yin-Yang Body when he fuses together.
It was just now that he discovered that he needs to be at the peak First Stage to succeed!
With his Yin-Yang Body, Fang Lin can freely use yin and yang abilities of his bodies. Not only that, but he can combine them together!
And to Fang Lin’s surprise, he found out that he was enlightened by powerful spells and techniques after he created his Yin-Yang Body! These abilities can only be used while he was on his Yin-Yang Body form. The reason for that was because these abilities require the use of the new energy to be implemented. As such, these abilities can be considered to be the trump card of Fang Lin!
Fang Lin gulped, clearly feeling the destructive might from these abilities. But to his disappointment again, he cannot use all of them due to his limited cultivation base.
“Ba! So stingy! What’s up with these cultivation requirements, so irritating!” Fang Lin could only sourly complain on the restrictions. “Hmph, once I reach the peak, I will spam all these powerful abilities!”
Fang Lin then silently observed the new energy flowing in his body. With his bloodline memories, he discovered what it was called.
It was called the Yin-Yang Energy.
Fang Lin cringed upon hearing this. “Ugh, this is so generic! Besides that, if I say this name while fighting, the enemy might even know my origins.....” Fang Lin scratched as he decided to change its name.
“From now on, this energy shall be called the...” To his chagrin, Fang Lin could not think of any alternative name. After further brainstorming, he realized that he cannot change this name right now. It seems like he still need more time to ponder upon this issue. Upon that realization, he sighed, swearing to himself that he will not shout out this generic name anytime soon.
Putting the matter of its name at the back of his head, Fang Lin then mulled on the benefits by the Yin-Yang Energy.
Aside from tempering his body into the Yin-Yang Body and using powerful spells, what Fang Lin could do with the Yin-Yang Energy was still limited. He can only fully enjoy some of its benefits once he steps on the Second Stage. Right now, the other thing that the Yin-Yang Energy gave him was a strange feeling on his hands.
He felt a weird wriggling sensation on both of his hands, as if they were being engraved with something. After some moments, the weird feeling disappeared, and Fang Lin felt something powerful residing on his palms.
Fang Lin looked at his hands, and he saw some symbols engraved on both of them.
At the back of both his hand, was the symbol ?
On the other hand(pun intended), the symbols on his right palm formed a triangle. The symbol ☉ was on the top.The symbol ♂ was on the bottom left corner while the symbol ? was on the bottom right corner.
The symbols on his left palm were ?, ♀ and Θ. These symbols followed the same arrangement as the symbols on the right palm respectively.
Fang Lin instinctively knew what each of these symbols meant.
was the Taiji Diagram, which represented his Yin-Yang Bloodline. ☉ was the circumpunct, representing the blazing sun. ♂ was the symbol of the male form. ? was the ankh, the symbol of life.
was a snowflake, representing the winter. ♀ represents the female form while Θ was the symbol theta, which represents death.
Fang Lin knew that these symbols that appeared on his hands will be a powerful aid to his combat abilities. The only thing that he needed to do was to test it.
“Hehehe, don’t I have some guinea pigs already?” Fang Lin let out an evil smile as he looked out of the spirit ship. The body tempering that he underwent took some time, and once it was complete, Fang Lin discovered that he had arrived on their destination already.
He had arrived on the place where Long Juo and the three whip women was! Fang Lin excitedly cracked his knuckles as he was filled with fighting intent. He was clearly itching to test his new body.
