Chapter 151: Schemes everywhere
No. 5’s forehead started to be filled with black lines as he stared at Fang Xiushang who was now at the mercy of Fang Lin. Fang Lin waved his hand, and Fang Xiushang let out a shout as he was absorbed on Fang Lin’s storage ring.
“......” The punishers’ eyes narrowed when they saw this scene. Storage rings were rare, and those that can store living beings were even harder to find.
Upon seeing this, No. 5 immediately thought that Fang Lin must have a powerful master teaching him. Fang Yu must be a disciple of the master too. As for Wang Hao, he was probably the bodyguard that was assigned by that master to protect Fang Lin.
But according to his memories, Wang Hao was in the Solstice Kingdom with Fang Yu. As for why Fang Lin was separated with Wang Hao, No. 5 thinks this has a much deeper reason.
But what made him more confused was on why Fang Xiushang was near the Forest of Death. If he did not just conveniently appear and got captured by Fang Lin, his mission might have already be done by now.
And with Fang Lin storing Fang Xiushang on his storage ring, the punishers could not just brute force their way to grab Fang Xiushang.
They knew that with the way the Fang Clan treated him, Fang Lin would not hesitate to kill Fang Xiushang the instant they attempt to rescue him.
No. 5 sensed that Fang Lin put a formation on the surface of the storage ring. No.5 grimaced, as he was familiar with the formation that was there.
It was a magical formation that was invented by Mina’s father. Mina must have put the formation on the ring before their arrival.
The formation’s function was simple. If Fang Lin gets attacked, injured or killed, the formation will activate, destroying the ring, killing Fang Xiushang inside it. Not only that, if the ring in any way was removed out of Fang Lin’s fingers or was taken away through some means, the formation will still destroy the ring and kill Fang Xiushang.
Even with their power, they have no way to separate Fang Xiushang from Fang Lin. They have no choice but to negotiate with Fang Lin.
Out of all the outcomes that he and his companions had prepared for, this was the one they had not even prepared for.
“You bastard..... Do you plan on using Fang Xiushang on scaring us off?” No. 5 tried to make his voice sound as calm as possible. He had to make it appear that they were not that worried for Fang Xiushang. If Fang Lin sees their anxiety, he will surely use it against them.
“Well....” Fang Lin smiled shyly as he told No. 5 and the punishers his terms. He even swore with his dao soul that he will abide by the terms. Upon hearing it, the punishers could only grit their teeth as they knew that his terms were somewhat reasonable.
“.......” No. 5 was fine with the terms, but what made him more suspicious was the one-day lay-off time demanded by Fang Lin.
“This bastard must be planning to do something that he does now want us to see.” No. 5 thought to himself as his brain scoured for possible loopholes.
After a time equivalent to that of burning a stick of incense, No. 5 raised his head and said,
“We agree.” They then swore with their dao souls to uphold the deal too.
After this, Fang Lin and his companions rode the spirit ship quickly. The ship then started its travel immediately. It was pretty obvious that they wanted to get away from the punishers as far as possible.
“Hmmph, that damn brat!” No. 2 cursed as her killing intent leaked out. “If not for that lucky break, he could have been the one licking my foot!”
“Wait No. 2, you plan on doing that to him?” No. 1 was shocked as he/she had a mental image of that. He/she shook his/her head to wipe that away from his/her mind.
“.....” No. 2 just whistled awkwardly as she looked away. The other punishers face-palmed, clearly tired of her antics.
Suddenly, all their face turned ugly when they received news about the Underworld Invasion. Due to their excitement on fighting the Undead and chasing Fang Lin, they ignored the messages sent to them. It was only now that they had the time to read these messages.
“Do they know?” No. 1 was obviously referring to Fang Lin’s group.
“Hmph, I think that Fang Lin clearly knew all about the Underworld Invasion! I do not know how, but he had a way to procure that information! There must be something that he plans to do that was related to that!”
No. 5 felt pissed again for the second time in six months.
The first time he was this angry was when he failed to kill Wang Hao.
This is the second time. No. 5 was now sure that Fang Lin will surely use the current condition of the Solstice Kingdom against them.
Fang Lin surely was not planning to hand Fang Xiushang over! He must be planning to fight them!
With the restricting power of the Underworld Suppressing Formation, all the punishers will have their power levels regress to Stage 1. That will greatly reduce their advantage against Fang Lin.
And with that one-day lay-off period, Fang Lin will have enough time to set some traps against them.
In other words, they were basically f***ed.
“S**t!” The faces of the other punishers turned ashen as they realized the implications of the current situation.
“With us swearing with our dao souls, we had no choice but meet with him a day from now. That means we had no choice but to receive his ambush.” No. 5 could only hollowly laugh from their absurd situation.
“Tsk tsk tsk. The young does surpass the old eventually.” No. 1 said with a melancholic tone. “Too bad that the Fang Clan’s animosity.... might shut Fang Lin away from the clan forever.”
“Such a pity...”
The punishers sighed as they sent out some messages to their friends and followers. They were planning to amass a lot of people on joining them when they face Fang Lin! Once they start the meeting with Fang Lin, they will not just go by themselves. Fang Lin should expect an army facing him.
With their might in numbers, any strategy of Fang Lin will just be crushed like dry weeds.

Fang Lin on the other hand, was in an extremely good mood after the success of his negotiation. Several things could have gone wrong but luckily it all worked out in the end.
Now that they were free to travel safely, their demeanors relaxed as they happily chatted with each other.
Fang Lin then chose that time to transform as Fang Xiushang.
His face morphed, and his body warped to accommodate his new form. Xue’er and Bloodspear stared in wonder at Fang Lin’s harrowing transformation. Only Mina was the one whose face turned pale. She rushed to the bathroom, and some seconds later, some retching sounds could be heard.
Fang Lin ignored that as his body finished changing.
He looked at the mirror, and now he saw that he looked like the original Fang Xiushang. The similarity was so uncanny his new face managed to sport the same arrogant expression that Fang Lin hated.
It was so similar that he had to stop himself from punching his new face.
While Xue’er praised Fang Lin’s transformation, Mina came rushing back, with her complexion still pale. She tried to hide the fact that she vomited as she wiped her lips discreetly.
“Seriously! You should have warned us before you did that! That was seriously creepy!” It seems like Mina will really talk normally once she was angry. Fang Lin loved seeing this girl becoming this lively.
“But you were the one who gave out from that. Xue’er and Bloodspear did no feel disgusted by it.”
“...”
“Wait, now that I notice it, you seem to be really picky. There were some things that you could not even tolerate. That attitude could only be seen from those who lived in luxury and riches.”
“....”
“Fang Lin! Stop scaring Mina!” Xue’er pouted angrily as she berated Fang Lin. She bopped him on his head with her hand. She then hugged Mina from behind and patted her head. “There, there.”
“Yeah, my bad.” Fang Lin had a very little interest on Mina’s background. He just wanted to tease her.
Fang Lin then avoided Xue’er’s peeved look and Mina’s wronged expression as he went to an empty room.
Bloodspear saw this and he could not help but ask,
“What are you going to do there, Fang Lin?”
Fang Lin tilted his head as he said,
“Well, I realized I still need to have some more ‘heart to heart’ talk with my cousin. You know, reconciliation stuff.”
“Just that?”
“Well, there’s some special segments, but it will be mostly family talks.”
“Better make it fast.”
“Do not worry, I am pretty fast at everything. Well, except for just one.”
“Just one?”
Yeah, I prefer to take things slow with that one.”
