560 A true Prophet
Just a day after the announcement of the Nightmare Army, Admiral Nathan left his territory for one of his routine patrols which recently ramped up after the appearance of the Beast Coalition and their terrorist attacks.
Today though, he was not alone as he left his territory.
Unknown to this Admiral, 3 more Admirals of the Nak State followed him.
Admiral Zhao was completely focused on his machines, using his access to his deep-space satellites to barely keep track of this Admiral.
Due to the detection magic arrays that he deployed every time while moving, they dared not move closer. Not just that, they kept a great distance.
The warning said he was probably far stronger than he showed.
These 3 Admirals followed him from a safe distance for hours.
When everything started feeling normal and it seemed like it was fake information, he finally did it. Despite the enormous distance, Admiral Zhao's specialized machines were able to pick up the sound waves of the whisper.
"Duhkha!"
His eyes widened. "He said Duhkha!"
Then, Admiral Nathan was erased out of existence.
Watching this Admiral being erased out of existence while not leaving any traces behind, these 3 Admirals were shocked as they took in a deep breath.
One of them, an old Mage had a cold look in his eyes.
"He mastered the Advanced Mage Path of Light, Distortion". He said coldly as he looked at the distance where he just disappeared from.
"If we don't want to blow our cover, we better not go anywhere near there".
"His mastery of Light already left a detection imprint there".
"He will know instantly if anything goes near".
Hearing that, Admiral Zhao took a deep breath.
Thinking about the sheer number of lives that were lost by the terrorist attacks, even the most recent one that claimed the life of a Nak Admiral, he could not help but shake in rage on remembering his always gentle face.
'And he even concurred to the President's decision first!'
'Really sly!'
'Really clever!'
A few hours ago…
After the announcement of the Nightmare Army, Legolas requested a meeting with President Dunk. He didn't just request a meeting with the President, he asked for Chief Admiral Greg, Admiral Zhao, and Admiral Oma to be present.
When they all appeared, he threw out a bomb.
He looked straight at the President. "To express my gratitude for your support, I have 2 gifts to kickstart a long-lasting cooperative relationship".
"First". He turned his head and looked at the 3 Admirals. "These 3 are the most trustworthy Admirals in the Nak State, they will never betray you".
"You can trust them with your deepest secrets".
President Dunk smiled. "And how do you know that?"
Legolas had a confident smile on his face. "The threads of fate encompass more than just reading the future, fate is multifaceted".
President Dunk nodded seriously as he looked at the 3 Admirals who also seemed surprised. "Throw me your last gift".
"There's a traitor among your upper echelons?"
President Dunk's eyes instantly narrowed. "Gwen?"
"No".
"Zoana? Alexandre?"
Legolas shook his head. "Nathan".
"…"
Shock rippled through the body of the 4 people present in this room apart from Legolas. If Legolas was in their positions, he would also be shocked.
"Know your place boy". Admiral Greg's deep voice reverberated the next moment in a threatening tone.
"We acknowledge your abilities does not mean you can abuse it to sow discord among us, you can lose your head on the spot if you speak wrongly again".
Legolas didn't look at the Chief Admiral, he only looked at President Dunk.
Seeing his focused gaze, this President furrowed his brows.
"Can you prove it?" He asked.
"Yes". Legolas nodded confidently. "Admiral Nathan is a deeply-placed spy of the Beast Coalition that was set up centuries ago to facilitate their plans".
"The reaction of the Chief Admiral shows that his mission is a success".
"He will only strike when the iron is hot and you least expect it".
Legolas inclined his head to look at the Chief Admiral. "Chief Admiral, if I am not mistaken, Admiral Nathan will leave his territory within the next few hours".
"He has weekly patrols that he started long ago".
"I know, but according to my guess, this may be the one I saw in my prophecy". His face turned serious. "Admiral Nathan will try any means possible to contact the Beast Coalition and tell them of my existence".
"I could have told only the President and some select Admirals about my true powers, but despite knowing the danger, I still told the whole truth about my powers of prophecy".
"This was a risk on my part to lure him out".
"Follow him and you will get your evidence".
Chief Admiral Greg narrowed his eyes but he said nothing.
By now, President Dunk already relaxed a bit, he looked at Legolas. "Telling us this now when you can simply wait to inflate the value of this later, why?"
Legolas smiled. "Because I believe in your generosity".
"Besides…" His face turned serious. "The Beast Coalition should not be underestimated; they are a fearsome force that should be feared".
"If Nathan is allowed to perform his espionage duty to devastating effect, even if the Nak State survives, it will be on the brink of death".
"My survival banks on the Nak State's survival so I can't allow that".
"In my opinion, after confirming it, act like everything is still normal".
He looked outside through the window. "The plan of the Beast King was to use him for espionage activities and sabotage the Nak State from within".
"Let's give them a taste of their own medicine".
"If you plan it well…" He looked at Chief Admiral Greg. "You can feed Nathan with false intel that will surely make their way to the Beast Coalition".
"This way, we can also strike back and misdirect them".
"One good misdirection can result in the total collapse of the Beast Coalition from within". Saying this, Legolas' eyes shone with ambition.
"Why are you doing this?" Chief Admiral Greg suddenly asked.
Legolas looked at him. "Like I said, my survival is tied to you".
"And besides, all I want is to become more powerful and you have all that I need for that, there is no need ruining my relationship with you".
He shook his head. "It's just not worth it".
A few minutes later, Legolas finally left.
As soon as he left, President Dunk looked at his 3 Admirals. After the words that Legolas said, his trust for these 3 Admirals already instinctively rose higher.
Of course, he already trusted them deeply but reassurance from a prophet pushed this belief and trust further.
He sighed. "He's a true Prophet".
