As soon as Blade slashed the ground with his Lightsaber, the sturdy street tiles could not withstand the force of his blade, it collapsed under its force.
As soon as it collapsed, something else was revealed under, a tunnel!
At the moment that the Shadow Mage made an appearance, Blade marked him instantly with the help of his special talent. It was not exactly marking, but he used his precognition talent on the Mage.
Unlike the first time when Blade just unlocked this special talent, he was no longer a novice, his understanding and power with the talent was now far higher.
He was able to read almost about a dozen seconds ahead.
This was how he knew the next few intentions of the Shadow Mage; it was also how he was able to detect the almost perfectly masked tunnel underneath.
Boom!
The Mechanic unleashed another shot but his target was already gone.
Blade showed no fear as he charged into the tunnel alongside the Shadow Mage. Entering inside, he saw a tunnel that extended across a ridiculously long distance, he also saw the Shadow Mage escaping rapidly.
Still in his humanoid form, shadows were everywhere around him as he ran. His legs did not touch ground, he stepped on shadows that propelled him hundreds of meters forward with each step.
'I can't let him escape!' Blade made his decision instantly.
Literally pouring all his Pugilist energy into his legs, he erupted in pursuit as he seemed to turn into a powerful gale rushing underground.
The Shadow Mage was not widening the distance, instead the distance between the 2 Grade B Supers was now lessening, he was incensed.
'I masked it with my concealment spell, how did he find the tunnel?'
'Was I betrayed? No! It's this Pugilist!' The eyes of this Shadow Mage narrowed as through the shadows; he observed his opponent.
He could easily tell that this guy was stronger than most of the other mercenaries that he had met, he felt a bit frustrated.
'Who is this Pugilist? I've never met him before!'
Despite his many thoughts, the Shadow Mage was experienced, he knew the priorities that were at hand and exactly what he needed to do.
His mouth opened again as he started chanting incantations.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Blasts of shadow energy were launched towards Blade who was prepared.
"Blade Specialty: Blade of Grit!"
BOOM!
One slash with his sword destroyed the 3 blasts of shadow energy.
The Shadow Mage was renowned for his elusiveness, his weird and escaping abilities, he was never known for his powerful spells and combat power.
"Jon Stones' Specialty: Obliteration Fist!"
Blade brought the legacy of his mentor to the galactic society for the first time. Immediately after he blocked the blasts of shadow energy, he retaliated.
The Shadow Mage saw the attack but he could not dodge it effectively.
He sank into the shadows as the Pugilist Energy slammed against them!
The shadows shook, then a groan reverberated followed by blood.
The Shadow Mage was yanked out of the shadows as he coughed blood, he glared at the Pugilist who was now closer than ever with blood-shot eyes.
His eyes were full of hatred and frustration!
The next moment, his body morphed!
He was no longer human; he was now a reptile!
A strange reptile with rippling dark green scales, a long forked tongue like those of a snake, and extremely sharp claws and fangs.
"Hisss…!!!" He snarled aggressively but Blade was not deterred.
"Blade Specialty: Blade of Defiance!"
Seeing the approaching sword energy, this Reptile screamed as from its' opened mouth, green poison came pouring out like an avalanche.
The poison overpowered the pugilist energy as he started chanting an incantation again. This time it was longer and the arcane energy fluctuation in the air was more powerful, Blade felt threatened.
He no longer held back; he used one of his strongest abilities.
"Blade Specialty: Twilight; Dawn of Doom!"
BOOM…!!!
The Reptile could not even react, one moment he was chanting his incantation, the next moment, everywhere turned black like it was midnight.
Then from the darkness rose up a silvery light like the dawn of day.
The only problem was that, this time, it was not the dawn of day, it was the dawn of doom!
Watching the sword energy rapidly accelerate towards him, this Reptile saw his life flash before his eyes, he felt fear for the first time in a long time!
He abandoned his incantation as he leaped up like a frog the next moment, not caring about the ground above as he slammed against it, injuring himself in the process but the pain from this was not the most significant.
Despite reacting so fast, the blade still caught its mark, the left hand of this Reptile was cleanly cut as black blood poured out of his body like a flood.
"HISSS…!" He hissed loudly in pain as he arrived back on the surface.
Unfortunately for him, a certain mechanic was waiting for him here at the surface. Aiming with his Rifle, this mechanic pulled the trigger again.
Boom!
The Reptile was injured even more as another commotion started.
The Reptile became desperate. 'I can't fight 2 grade B mercenaries!'
'I need to escape!'
'I need to escape!'
The Mechanic pulled the trigger again but shadows appeared as he dodged, showcasing incredible agility as the shots only hit his afterimages.
As he observed, he noticed a dark alley where his shadow powers would be even more amplified. 'That's my escape route!'
Without hesitation, he charged towards there while dodging the powerful shots being unleashed by the mercenary Mechanic.
Just before he got to the alley though, he felt a familiar presence. 'No!'
"Exclusive Special Talent: Demi-Singularity!"
Bzzz!
"Demi-Singularity Ability: Explosive Burst!"
"Demi-Singularity Ability: Gravity Well!"
BZZZ!
It was like the god of Gravity himself descended!
Just before he could take the bend into the alley, the Reptile stopped, the incredible pull of the gravity well affected him. To the despair of this reptile, he started being pulled backwards.
He was horrified. 'No!'
Blade closed his eyes for total concentration.
"Demi-Singularity Ability: One-hit Kill!"
Instantly, he felt his vitality drop by half. At this moment, he felt in the zone state, that was why he took the gamble of activating this ability.
This was the only way to kill this Reptile and prevent it from escaping again.
Then he did it.
"Blade Specialty: Singularity Slash!"
SHING!
