The war was won, but it was not without casualties.
For 3 straight days, the survivors refused to rest as they were determined to clean the whole Planet. This did not just involve burning the corpse of the numerous Bugs, it also involved gathering the corpses of their dead comrades.
After the Cataclysm, Planet Darvis was barely recognizable.
Apart from the blood that dyed the seas and oceans red, the landscape was already terraformed due to the destructive activities of the Bug Emperor.
The earthquakes and gravity that pulled the core of the Planet from its position already terraformed it so much that East was now West, and South was now North, it was a strange situation for the survivors to get used to.
In Earth terms, it felt like a situation where China suddenly became Canada, and England became Nigeria, the change was that significant.
For these 3 days, the shelters were also opened.
Despite the ridiculous number of casualties, the warriors did not die a vain death, they fulfilled their primary objective as they were able to protect the life of majority of the civilians that went into hiding.
The only confusion to Legolas was that none of the warriors in the Planet knew that they all died at one point, none of them knew of the time shift.
Not even his students knew of the time shift.
Speaking with Bam Bam, the energy lifeform gave him a vague explanation. "Time travel is a very mysterious topic that very few in the cosmos understands".
"It's a power that is tied to fate and destiny".
"I don't know why but them not knowing is probably for their own good".
"You should leave it that way".
The Energy Lifeform didn't stay past the 2nd day after the death of the Bug Emperor. "I've recovered enough to travel back into space".
Bam Bam looked at the human that rescued him from the Underworld after 45 years of imprisonment and torture. "I owe my freedom to you, human".
"I will never forget what you did to me".
"In the future, if fate wills it and we meet again, I will repay this favor".
Legolas smiled at him. "I will miss your stories".
"Hehe, I will miss yours too".
Before the energy lifeform could leave, Sonya interrupted. "Bam Bam, take me along, I can't stay in this backwater planet for long".
"I feel like I will become a useless bumpkin if I stay too long".
Bam Bam looked at the ferocious mutated human. "Your arrangement was with Legolas to leave through his warships, not with me".
He smiled. "It's your destiny".
Sonya frowned. "Selfish Bam Bam".
With a smile, this blue energy blob floated higher into the skies and with a twinkling light, he disappeared into the far reaches of space outside Planet Darvis.
Nagana bowed. "You will be missed".
By the 3rd day, the river of blood that died the seas and oceans red were already cleaned and purified. Having burnt all the corpses of the Bugs, the corpses of the heroic warriors who died in the war were gathered.
It was an occasion where all the survivors of the Planet were gathered.
Standing on a podium, Legolas looked at all the corpses that were gathered. President Shanks' face still sent a pringle down his heart.
"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of our President".
"Like all the other warriors who died in the Cataclysm, he died with no regrets, he died knowing that he gave his all into protecting the thing that he cherished most in the world, Planet Darvis".
"President Shanks, I knew him personally as a friend".
"If he could, I know at this moment he would be telling us not to mourn his death but to celebrate our victory and survival".
"He was a rare soul that had the progress of our planet in mind".
"He left nothing untouched, his dedication, love, and even his life, he gave it all for us, he died as a legend of Planet Darvis". Legolas' face was heavy as he said this. "He died as a role model to all of us".
"Today, as a Planet, as a family, we escort him to nothingness as a hero".
Legolas looked across all the other dead bodies. "All of them are heroes, heroes who did not hesitate to give their lives for our safety".
With a solemn voice, he concluded. "May their souls rest in peace".
"May their souls rest in peace". All the survivors echoed.
The next moment, multiple Fire Elementalists who were already in place set all the bodies on fire. Legolas watched as they burned to ashes.
'A new era dawns on Planet Darvis'. He finally left.
The mourning lasted 3 days, while paying tribute to the dead warriors who sacrificed their lives, Planet Darvis finally celebrated its victory.
Legolas celebrated personally with his students, beasts, pets, and all his allies. It was during the celebration that he finally decided to check his game interface status again, it was already long since he saw it.
