The Giant Nak Fortress became akin to an erupting volcano.
The attack from the Bug Conqueror was too powerful and it damaged too many important and volatile components, triggering a chain reaction as more explosions and destruction rocked the integrity of the gigantic base.
Commander Timbowal's reaction was impeccable as he tried to minimize the damage across the asteroid through his orders, but their effects were minimal.
This Commander watched his base slowly implode from inside and there was nothing that he could do, he ordered none of his warriors to escape though, neither did he escape as he grabbed his weapon and armed himself.
He watched with a stern look on his face.
The first line of defense of Planet Darvis was crumbling.
"…" Thousands of warriors manning this asteroid watched it die.
Thousands of Nak warriors and Superhumans watched in silence.
A warrior with a scar running the length of his face watched with a stern look on his face as he saw his comrades being devoured by the mighty explosions.
The explosion spread towards him with unstoppable momentum.
Staring death on the face, tons of thoughts went through this warrior's mind.
'It's still morning, I bet little Joe is still fast asleep'.
'It'll be at least 3 hours more before he wakes up'.
Thinking of his son, his lips twisted as a bitter feeling engulfed his heart, then the beautiful face of his wife soon filled his thoughts.
He could picture himself caressing her one last time, giving her one last kiss, enjoying her embrace one last time, yet it was all in his head, he had no last time for all those. Death… was here.
As the explosions expanded to his location, instead of giving in to his despair and resigning himself to death by dropping his weapon, this warrior refused.
"I refuse to give up". He muttered.
"I swore to be the first line of defense, I've not finished my work".
"Even in the face of death, I'll still defend Planet Darvis".
This Grade D Elementalist no longer hesitated, he ignored the expanding explosion that would soon engulf him and focused on the Space Bugs.
Even as the explosions rocked the Giant Nak Fortress, led by the Unique Space Bugs, the Bugs never let up as they added fuel to the already burning fire.
Their concentrated attacks accelerated the destruction of the asteroid.
Not just that, some Space Bugs were already bypassing the asteroid to go to Planet Darvis' atmosphere as they were soon caught in the Planet's gravity.
Seeing all these, this warrior made his last stand.
"You shall not pass!"
His Elementalist energy erupted as he entered berserk mode, at the face of death, his wind control had a breakthrough. The wind under his control became more lethal than ever before as he killed at a crazy frequency.
Hundreds of Space Bugs fell under his tyrannical last-ditch rampage.
Despite his rampage though, he could not cheat death, the explosion soon engulfed him in it. Even as he burned, as his flesh melted and peeled out of his body, he roared in pain and continued attacking aggressively.
"FOR PLANET DARVIS!" He roared.
He attacked till death.
Other numerous warriors like that man were across the Giant Nak Fortress as they did their best to kill more Space Bugs before going down.
Their resistance was brave but it was still unfortunately futile.
2 minutes after the Bug Conqueror's attack, the Giant Nak Fortress imploded in itself, it became a bright red explosion in space.
The Giant Nak fortress was no more.
The Bug Conqueror's powerful voice reverberated again, somehow, he could beat the laws of physics and nature to make his voice heard in space through a Psychic ability of his.
"BOW BEFORE THE NEW ORDER!"
"THIS IS MY ERA".
"SURRENDER AND BE ONE OF THE FIRST RACES IN MY EMPIRE".
CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP!
With the obstacle gone, the excited Space Bugs charged towards the atmosphere of the planet with gusto, they tore everything blocking their path apart, they were literally unstoppable until they met it.
As the Giant Nak Fortress went down, to prevent being caught up in it's explosion, all the Battleships including Champion Onana's Berserker had to give way. Just before it's total death though, Champion Onana did something.
"Trigger Ultimate Defense!" He ordered.
In Planet Darvis, the Support A.I that John created responded, whirring into action as it activated a host of sequences at the same time.
[Order Acknowledged!]
[Triggering reaction in the Giant Nak Fortress…]

[Arcanite Hull harnessing Planet Darvis' gravity!]
Just before its total destruction, the Giant Nak Fortress boomed with power.
BOOM!
[Arcanite Hull triggering Magnetic Resonance!]

[Fusion of Gravitic and Magnetic Energies Achieved!]
[Ultimate Defense Established!]

The Giant Nak Fortress imploded, but in its place, Champion Onana's masterpiece, the 2nd line of defense was activated.
The Space Bugs charging into the planet immediately encountered a resistance, a resistance that was formed from the delicate and incredible fusion of magnetic and gravitic energies both from Planet Darvis and the asteroid.
They triggered a chain reaction of immense force that now ground at the beasts trying to invade, the Space Bugs suffered the wrath of these 2 apex powers.
The same way that they invaded in droves, in the same way did they start dying in droves, over eighty thousand Space Bugs were ground to dust by the incredible power of magnetism and gravity combined.
The first 2 Unique Space Bugs were also caught in its domain.
These 2 powerhouses were not ground to dust but grounded by this incredible fusion of energy, they suffered terrible injuries as a ton of their metallic body was turned into scrap metal from the sheer power.
The momentum of the Space Bugs was stalled, again.
For the immediate moment, Planet Darvis was safe.
This safety was not about to last long though, this was because after observing this strange energy field around the Planet for some time, the Unique Space Bugs made their decisions and collectively started attacking it.
The ultimate defensive fusion of magnetic and gravitic powers wobbled.
Champion Onana scowled on seeing this.
Apparently, the defensive capabilities of this Cutting-Edge piece of technological product were not on par with its incredible offensive capabilities.
Since the air to surface turrets and missiles installed all across Planet Darvis could not reach space, they were at this moment of the cataclysm still useless. Champion Onana had no choice but to keep on attacking with the Battleships.
20 minutes more of this and the 2nd line of defense was breached.
This time, there was no third line of defense.
The Space Bugs finally invaded Planet Darvis.
As they invaded, hundreds of thousands of war turrets installed across the Planet finally opened fire as they killed hordes of Space Bugs but it didn't mean much, there were more than enough Space Bugs to take on their attacks.
Fear gripped Planet Darvis, the skies became dark as the shine from the sun was blocked by the convergence of so many Cosmic Beasts.
It felt like Planet Darvis was facing another apocalypse.
Champion Onana became desperate. "Where is Legolas?!"
"We need him now!"
"We can't afford to wait anymore!"
"At this rate, we'll lose without the Bug Conqueror even needing to personally make a move!" Champion Onana felt distressed.
At his urge, Christensen finally broke off from the others. Inside his office in the headquarters of the Nightmare Army, he knelt and with his hands clasped together tightly, he prayed.
