Chapter 1960: Chapter 1957: Not Among the Living

"I shouldn’t have gone out without checking the calendar. Who did I offend? Why am I always the one who gets hurt?" Ning Wenbin sighed again.

"Teacher, if you ask Senior Brother Ning to solve the problem and he can’t, it might damage his image in the Goddess’s eyes." A classmate jokingly remarked.

Even though it was an advanced math class, the atmosphere wasn’t as dull as other high math teachers, so some students dared to make one or two jokes. Besides, having spent enough time in the same class with Ning Wenbin, everyone knew he had a comedic personality. The joke wasn’t malicious, but most people thought he wouldn’t be able to solve it—it’s hard to come up with a new solution.

The teacher just smiled and said nothing, and Ning Wenbin reluctantly made his way to the front.

"This guy really acts the part." Lin Tian shook his head amusingly.

"Act what?" He Xiaofei and a few others looked puzzled, and Lin Tian gestured for them to watch without explaining.

Ning Wenbin reached the whiteboard, putting on the look of deep thought. Just as the classmates were about to start teasing him, he quickly picked up the marker and wrote a series of numbers, letters, and symbols.

In a short time, most of the whiteboard was filled with various numbers and symbols. Only then did Ning Wenbin stop and coolly toss the marker onto the table. The classmates stared at the dense process of his calculations, all dumbfounded, while Ning Wenbin looked pleased, clearly satisfied with the reaction.

"Alright, you can go back to your seat." The teacher waved his hand, signaling him to return to his seat.

"Classmates, Ning Wenbin’s calculation and reasoning process were completely correct. The knowledge points within will be our next class’s topic. You should pre-study well, and if you have any questions, you can ask Ning Wenbin for help." The teacher announced loudly.

"Wow, he really solved it."

"Didn’t expect he had some skills."

Various sounds of surprise and praise filled the room, as Ning Wenbin swaggered back to his seat, chuckling, "How about this pig acting like a tiger? At last, I got to show off, hehe..."

Initially, Lin Tian and the others were going to compliment him, but they didn’t realize this guy hadn’t changed a bit, still loving to be in the spotlight. However, they couldn’t deny that he seemed quite capable academically, which explained why he dared to call himself a future master architect.

Lin Tian had noticed his odd expression earlier; this guy was indeed showing off, rather brazenly, without concealment. Yet Lin Tian was very curious as to why, despite being good at studies, he once missed an exam. There seemed to be a story behind it.

He wouldn’t say, and Lin Tian didn’t want to gossip and ask. Everyone independent might have a story in their past.

After the math class was the experiment class; Lin Tian finished it methodically but felt unprecedentedly fulfilled. After experiencing more, he valued campus life even more.

His experimental classes were different from Xiao Manxuan as they weren’t in the same class, and Lin Tian finished his experiment first, nearing noon. He walked alone out of the laboratory, not waiting for Qiao Xiaoyi and the others, nor seeking Xiao Manxuan, just strolling around the campus alone.

Lin Tian seemed to wander aimlessly, but after ten minutes, he stopped in front of an apartment dormitory. He looked up at the building, about to walk up the stairs when two figures suddenly emerged, blocking his path.

Both wore black clothes; one even had a mask and a sun hat, the brim pulled low, obscuring the face. Their attire clashed with the campus’s atmosphere.

"Mr. Lin, our master is not here, no need for you to go up." The one without a mask spoke, sounding very polite, but his face showed no emotion.

"Yasuo..." Lin Tian glanced at him indifferently, equally expressionless.

Indeed, one of the figures blocking him was Yasuo, a murderous, cold-blooded Secret Master.

However, Lin Tian’s indifferent glance seemed to exert enormous pressure on Yasuo, whose gaze trembled while his facial muscles twitched unnaturally.

Lin Tian didn’t speak, stepping forward while Yasuo instinctively wanted to move aside; the masked man, however, remained unmoved, saying, "The master is indeed not here."

Looking at the masked man, Lin Tian slightly squinted: "Have we met somewhere before?" He asked, because of a strange feeling in his heart, which he didn’t have facing Yasuo.

The masked man didn’t answer or say more, just blocked the way. Lin Tian suddenly reached out, grabbing at the mask. The masked man reacted quickly to evade but was nowhere near Lin Tian’s speed.

Lin Tian’s fingers touched the edge of the mask, about to remove it, when a hand suddenly extended, grabbing Lin Tian’s wrist.

"Lin Tian, no need to trouble a minor character." A cold voice sounded.

"Hmm!" Lin Tian snorted coldly, reversing to grab the newcomer. The person turned a hand to block, palms colliding with Lin Tian.

With a muffled bang, both stepped back three paces; being forced back didn’t surprise Lin Tian at all, as there was only Xu Feibai in the entire school.

The newcomer was Xu Feibai, but he looked surprised: "Your strength?" Though stepping back, Xu felt the difference in Lin Tian’s strength.

"What strength or not, I came to ask you for something." Lin Tian didn’t want to waste words.

"Master, Lin Tian just tried to find you..." Yasuo moved forward to report, but Xu Feibai waved it off.

At this moment, two teachers came down from upstairs, seeing the four, especially the masked man’s attire, they looked as if seeing a lunatic. If only they knew that among the four were three zombies and one Secret Master, their reaction might differ.

Once the two teachers walked away, Xu Feibai said, "They didn’t lie to you, I just returned. Rest assured, what I promised won’t be short; let’s go up, this isn’t a place for discussion."

He finished speaking and directly went upstairs, disregarding if Lin Tian would follow. Lin Tian, of course, wasn’t polite, following directly, while the masked man and Yasuo didn’t come, again lurking somewhere.

Xu Feibai lived in a teacher’s apartment, with rooms much larger than the student dormitory, but the living room was very barren, devoid of colorful decorations.

"I finished dealing with Jiang Chen’s Body and returned to campus, just about to find you; coincidentally met you downstairs." Xu Feibai explained.

"Who finds whom doesn’t matter; tell me, where is Ying Gou or the Ying Gou Bloodline?" Lin Tian asked directly.

"I said, I only know some information, not where Ying Gou is." Xu Feibai replied calmly.

"What information?" Lin Tian continued to ask.

Xu Feibai paused, seeming to ponder something, then said, "Back then, the four Ancestors were wounded by ancient powers and then sealed. Nu Ba was sealed near an ancient battlefield, Jiang Chen’s body was separated and sealed in parts, and the head hasn’t been found."

"Yet only Houqing and Ying Gou disappeared, the Xu Family discovered some secrets; Houqing should no longer be in Huaxia, and Ying Gou may not be in the human world."
