Chapter 2101: Chapter 2104: Making a Fuss Over Nothing Won’t Kill Me

Ugh, movies always show it this way: after the girl rejects the boy, the boy disregards everything and directly blocks her mouth. Suddenly, my heart tightened, and I felt a warm sensation flowing into my lower abdomen.

Maimai took a deep breath and patted her cheeks: What am I thinking?!!!! What’s wrong with me?!!!!

"How can I win you over?"

Sheng Sheng drove back into traffic, showing no awkwardness or irritation from being rejected. These two were truly used to this state, their faces as thick as ever.

Sheng Sheng’s expression was casually composed. Asking how he could win her over was as nonchalant as asking if she had eaten.

Maimai puffed her cheeks, ignored his question, and looked down to play with her phone.

Just then, Sheng Sheng suddenly let out a soft groan, and Maimai turned her head to see his face twisted in pain.

Maimai was startled: "What’s going on?"

Immediately, the car skidded, and Sheng Sheng closed his eyes, pushing himself to the back seat, leaving the driver’s seat to Maimai: "You drive."

"You idiot, don’t scare me," Maimai suddenly became anxious.

With half of Sheng Sheng’s body already squeezed into the back, Maimai quickly steadied the steering wheel, sitting in the driver’s seat and asking, "What’s wrong with you?"

Sheng Sheng kept silent for a long time with his eyes closed.

Maimai was worried and called out to him multiple times: "Idiot? Idiot, say something?"

Silence, a long silence. Maimai pulled the car over to the side of the road and quickly turned around once it was parked.

Sheng Sheng had already opened his eyes, shook his head, and said, "I’m fine."

"If you’re fine, why were you frowning? Just tell me," Maimai was extremely anxious.

Seeing her like this, Sheng Sheng smiled and teased, "Concerned about me, huh?"

"Concerned, my foot! Just tell me, what happened just now?"

Sheng Sheng stretched his long legs and slipped into the front passenger seat, "Maybe Zun Zun got hurt, and suddenly I felt pain in my body." Then he pulled out his phone and dialed Zun Zun’s number. As expected, there was no answer, his phone was off. Sheng Sheng dialed another number, said a few things, then hung up with a serious expression.

"I need to go back to Canada for a bit. I’ll have someone send seafood to your place tonight. Let me take you home now, okay?" Sheng Sheng turned to look at Maimai: "Next time, I’ll have someone fly in to bring you crabs."

"I’ll take you to the airport." Maimai wasn’t truly interested in eating crabs, but was reminded of some memories and casually brought it up, just to give him a hard time.

Sheng Sheng shook his head, "Let me take you home first."

He didn’t feel comfortable having a girl drive herself home.

After taking her home, he left Los Angeles in haste. This time, he was gone for quite a few days.

Hearing that Brother Zun got injured, she called to ask, and Brother Zun, with a cheeky smile, said he was fine. Maimai wanted to visit Brother Zun in Canada, but Brother Zun brushed it off saying she was making a big deal out of nothing.

[It feels like my writing is becoming more and more off, neither warm nor cold, stuck in a dilemma I can’t get out of. Allow me to think over how to write Maimai and Sheng Sheng’s story better. Writing just to meet daily updates makes me feel tired, and the story dull. I’ve been considering starting over. Please give me some time; let me slow down the updates these next couple of days and think it over.]
