Maimai responded with a lack of enthusiasm. Since it was tomorrow night’s event, there was no rush. She decided to deal with it the following afternoon.
Maimai really didn’t pay much attention to it. The next afternoon, she had her makeup done by a stylist, and right on time, a car came to pick her up. In Maimai’s mind, however, she scoffed at this; he was pretending again. Obviously, he was the one funding this film, yet Director Feng was unaware of the actual financier behind the scenes. Oh well, someone must be the real actor!
Sheng Sheng leaned over and whispered in her ear, "What are you thinking? There’s a microphone over there. Go ahead and sing yourself."
"I won’t sing." Maimai held the glass of juice in front of her, using it as a prop without drinking it, casually listening to Yang Kai and Director Feng discuss the script, waiting for the crowd to gradually arrive.
After all, she came just to show her face, have some food and drinks, and leave when the time was right.
