Chapter 25: Chapter 25: For Loving Him, She Was Greatly Wronged

Seeing blood gushing from Vivian Linton’s forehead, the man’s face grew as cold as if the King of hell had returned.

The surrounding atmosphere instantly plunged to a freezing point.

"Tristan, it hurts so much..."

Vivian Linton leaned, frail and helpless, against Tristan Sterling’s chest as tears streamed down her face.

Holly Sinclair watched the scene unfold with a cold gaze.

’Vivian Linton did it on purpose!’

’She saw Tristan Sterling arrive, so she deliberately provoked Wendy, then intentionally fell and cracked her head open.’

Although she had long given up hope regarding Tristan Sterling, seeing her husband dote on another woman in public still felt like a sharp jab to Holly Sinclair’s heart.

Seeing her best friend’s heartbroken expression, Wendy Wyatt felt a pang of pain in her own heart.

She clenched her fists, ready to fight, but suddenly felt a frigid, predatory gaze fixed on her.

Wendy Wyatt’s expression shifted the moment she turned to look.

It was Nathan Fletcher.

A graceful, beautiful woman was holding onto his arm intimately.

It was his rumored fiancée.

Wendy Wyatt’s heart clenched in pain.

Nathan Fletcher’s eyes swept over Wendy Wyatt from head to toe.

Her hair was a mess and the collar of her cheongsam was torn. The slit, which should have ended mid-thigh, had been ripped open higher during her struggle with Nicole Linton, turning it into a high slit.

The tops of her thighs were faintly visible, creating a look that was both sexy and alluring.

She looked somewhat disheveled, yet all the more enticing for it.

A chill entered Nathan Fletcher’s deep eyes.

"WAAH... Brother-in-law, you have to get justice for my sister! She invited them with the best intentions, and not only were they ungrateful, they attacked us for no reason!"

Seeing her savior had arrived, the utterly disheveled Nicole Linton began to twist the truth.

Tristan Sterling lifted Vivian Linton into his arms and gently set her down on a sofa.

Vivian Linton cried like a tragic heroine who had been bullied relentlessly.

"Call the police."

Tristan Sterling commanded, his harsh, cold gaze fixed on Holly Sinclair and Wendy Wyatt.

"Yes, sir." Connor Grant nodded and took out his phone to dial.

"Don’t call the police!"

Holly Sinclair shouted upon seeing this, rushing forward to stop Connor Grant.

’Wendy can’t be taken to the station.’

’She might not be a huge star yet, but she’s still a public figure.’

’A criminal record would ruin her career.’

"If you have the guts to assault someone, you’d better be prepared to face the consequences."

Tristan Sterling’s voice was utterly devoid of warmth. His handsome face was grim, making him look terrifying.

"Wendy can’t get any negative press!" Holly Sinclair cried out anxiously.

"That has nothing to do with me."

Hearing the man’s cold, heartless words, Holly Sinclair felt a sharp pang in her heart.

’He knew perfectly well that Wendy is my best friend, yet for Vivian Linton’s sake, he completely disregarded my feelings.’

Tristan Sterling glanced at Connor Grant.

Connor Grant prepared to resume dialing.

Holly Sinclair gritted her teeth, her eyes red as she said, "Tristan Sterling, I’m begging you—"

"Don’t you dare beg him!"

Wendy Wyatt roared.

’I can’t stand seeing her debase herself like this.’

But true best friends always put each other first.

There was no way Holly Sinclair was going to stand by and watch Wendy Wyatt get arrested.

And she certainly wouldn’t let Wendy lose her bright future because of her.

"Please, can you not call the police?" She took a step forward to stand before him, her misty eyes filled with desperation.

This was the first time she had ever yielded to him since they had started talking about divorce.

"Holly!!"

Wendy Wyatt was furious. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Her eyes reddened with heartache for her friend.

’I regret this so much...’

’I regret not slapping that manipulative bitch Vivian Linton a few more times.’

’During the time I was away, how many times has this little bitch framed Holly?!’

Holly Sinclair ignored her friend, her gaze fixed on the stone-faced man as she pleaded subserviently, "Tristan Sterling, I’m begging you..."

Tristan Sterling’s lips thinned, but he remained silent.

"Tristan, it hurts so much. This cut on my forehead is huge... Am I going to be disfigured?"

Vivian Linton suddenly burst into panicked tears, her face a mask of pitiful helplessness.

"You’ll be fine," Tristan Sterling said, patting her head and comforting her gently.

"WAAAH... If I’m disfigured, I don’t want to live anymore... WAAAH..."

Vivian Linton cried her heart out, then abruptly looked up at Holly Sinclair, her voice choked with tears as she accused her, "Holly, I’m disfigured now. Are you happy? What more could you possibly want from me? I’ve already been so patient with you, so why did you order Wendy to attack me? Will you only be satisfied once you’ve pushed me to my death?"

"THAT’S FUCKING BULLSHIT!!"

Wendy Wyatt exploded, her profanity echoing through the entire bar. "Linton, cut the shameless act! Don’t you dare try to pin this on my Holly!"

"Tristan, I didn’t... WAAAH... You’ve seen it. I’m always trying so hard to get on Holly’s good side, but she never gives me the time of day..."

Vivian Linton clutched Tristan Sterling’s sleeve, crying foul as she played the part of a weak, pitiful victim to perfection.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Why should anyone give you the time of day?"

Wendy Wyatt sneered, now completely unleashed.

The Linton Sisters’ faces went pale with rage at the verbal assault, a truly ugly sight.

"Connor Grant!"

Tristan Sterling barked.

Connor Grant immediately dialed the police.

Holly panicked and started to move forward. "Tristan—"

"Let him call!" Wendy Wyatt pulled her friend back, glaring daggers at Tristan Sterling.

"Wendy..." Holly Sinclair was so frantic she was on the verge of tears.

"Tristan Sterling, is this really how you treat Holly?" Wendy Wyatt’s eyes were bloodshot as she seethed with rage. "With Sterling in a coma, you think she has no one to back her up, no one to protect her, so you can just bully her however you want, is that it?"

’No one to back me up, no one to protect me...’

Holly Sinclair could no longer hold back her tears.

They streamed down her face.

’I didn’t think it was a big deal, but hearing my best friend say it like that... suddenly, I feel so wronged.’

’Loving him... I’ve truly suffered so much.’

Tristan Sterling watched Holly Sinclair secretly wiping away her tears, his face an icy mask.

’So that’s what she thinks, too?’

Vivian Linton retorted, "Miss Wyatt, I’m the one who’s hurt—"

"You sure have a lot to say for someone nobody was talking to! Was I talking to you? Who said you could butt in?" Wendy Wyatt scolded her word by word, as blunt as if she were yelling at her own son.

"You..." Vivian Linton’s eyes welled with tears from the verbal smackdown.

Wendy Wyatt didn’t spare her a second glance.

She continued her full-blown assault on Tristan Sterling. "Tristan Sterling, when did you go blind? Can’t you see through the Linton Sisters’ shoddy acting? If your eyes are that bad, get them checked. Treating a master manipulator like she’s some kind of treasure... I’m honestly worried for the future of the Sterling Family!"

Tristan Sterling let out a cold laugh.

"Wendy..." Holly Sinclair said, a little worried.

’Angering Tristan Sterling won’t do Wendy any good.’

But Wendy Wyatt was on a roll and couldn’t stop herself now. "Tristan Sterling, just sign the damn divorce papers already! A man as blind in the eyes as he is in the heart doesn’t deserve my Holly!!"

’I’ve been wanting to say that for two years.’

’It’s just that Holly loved him more than life itself back then, so I couldn’t say it.’

’But now that Holly doesn’t want him anymore, it’s my duty to be her mouthpiece and finally say what needs to be said.’

’Doesn’t deserve...’

An icy aura radiated from Tristan Sterling.

He glanced over at his good friend, Nathan Fletcher.

Nathan Fletcher was lounging on the sofa, leisurely sipping his drink.

He looked completely detached from the situation.

Soon, the police arrived.

Wendy Wyatt was taken away.

...

「The next day.」

Holly Sinclair arrived at the Sterling Group.
