Chapter 27: The Ancient God of War.
After taking a cold shower and changing into clean clothes, I threw myself onto my bed once again because there was still one thing I had to check.
My status window.
"Status!"
I muttered and immediately, a translucent screen appeared before me.
════〔 STATUS 〕════

I scanned everything calmly.
Nothing much had changed but seeing progress was always a pleasant sight and just like in my previous life, when I had first used my refinement technique, a new attribute, Soul, had appeared and it was already at SS-Rank.
Even in my last life, it had reached that point but it had never increased beyond that since I had no idea how to improve it further.
After all, the realm beyond that differed for everyone and with my unique and incomplete refinement technique, figuring it out had been quite difficult.
Without hesitation, I focused on my newly unlocked skill and refinement technique to inspect their detailed information, a luxury granted to me by [[Insight]], hoping I would discover something new.
Immediately, two smaller windows appeared before me, displaying their details.
═══════════════════
⟦Celestial Breathing⟧
⟦Rank - Unique ⟧
⟦Type - Active ⟧
⟦Description - A breathing art born from the unique refinement technique, Celestial Singularity. It gradually nourishes the soul, body, and mind, allowing one to resonate deeply with the cosmic sea⟧
═══════════════════
⟦Celestial Singularity Art⟧
⟦Rank - Unique (Incomplete)⟧
⟦Description - A unique refinement technique created long ago and lost during the Lost Epoch before being refined further by a great spiritual beast. Eventually, it found its way into the hands of a Demon King who made use of it. However, the technique remains incomplete and is still far from reaching its true purpose and potential.⟧
▸ NOTE:「The technique is the culmination of a God of War’s life. If someone with your pitiful physique could complete it, unexpected boons might await」

I stared at the status window in silence because normal status windows didn’t allow such detailed explanations of arts and skills. They only showed surface-level information and the details of the talents one possessed.
So, in my previous life, when my master had found this technique and refined it further, I had never known any of this.
Even she didn’t know the origin of the technique.
She had simply discovered fragments of it during one of her adventures in some ruins and had tried to replicate it.
Still, some words caught my attention.
The Lost Epoch.
I knew those words solely because my master occasionally mentioned them, but even she didn’t know much about it except that there was a significant gap in history.
Then there was another word.
God of War.
The Holy Empire was situated on the continent of Veloria, which was ruled by the Goddess of Love and Passion. Similarly, there were two other continents neighbouring Veloria, Kharos and Sylvara, both with their own Gods.
Sylvara was divided between the God of Wisdom and the Goddess of Earth while the smaller continent of Kharos was ruled solely by the God of Battle, Kaelzar.
There were also hidden continents which the Holy Empire knew nothing about at this point. They lay beyond the borders, separated by the Great Sea and countless Great Catastrophic-Class beasts which could erase a Transcendent rank with a sneeze and could only be reached through special methods.
But I had roamed across nearly half the world and visited many of those hidden continents. Some were united under Gods while others were consumed by complete chaos.
Yet none of them had any God of War.
That either meant the person who had created this technique...
...was dead.
Or he was on one of the continents I had never visited.
Or... he was deliberately hiding himself.
Because there was no way in hell that brute Kaelzar, the God of Battle, was also some God of War. If he had been, he would have recognised this technique in my previous life.
So, if I could find the continent where that God of War is or had once existed, I might be able to find clues to complete this technique.
Ahh, so many mysteries to unravel even after living one life. This life will be even more thrilling than the last.
"I hope we can explore this endless and thrilling world together again, Lily."
I whispered under my breath as a smile formed on my face, thinking about all the possibilities of endless adventures.
Though...
...I didn’t know if she would even want that.
Letting my body fall onto the bed, I turned my thoughts towards more important matters for now.
The Forbidden Ruins and the academy life that awaited me.
Because these next three years were the ones that had pushed Lily the most towards her distorted fate and I had no intention of allowing any of that to happen again.
After all, I had promised to make her the happiest woman in this life...
...even if she didn’t remember me.
But in the end, it didn’t really matter.
A promise was a promise and I intended to keep it.
Just as I was lost in thought, someone knocked on the door to my room and a familiar voice followed.
"Young Master, the Patriarch is here to meet you."
The maid announced and a smile formed on my face.
"Come in."
