Chapter 224: Chapter 223: Lord Eight’s Divine Abilities

That was a turtle-shaped star emanating a green glow. It was the Green Turtle Star. Refining the Green Turtle Star as one’s Lifebound Star would grant exceptionally strong defensive abilities.

Furthermore, the Green Turtle Star possessed the Water Attribute, which was a perfect fit for Qin Feng.

Qin Feng guessed that the Green Turtle Star might be resonating with the portion of the Black Tortoise Bloodline he had refined.

Qin Feng didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’To think my Black Tortoise Bloodline would resonate with the Green Turtle Star!’

Qin Feng hesitated. ’Should I refine the Green Turtle Star as my Lifebound Star?’

He didn’t really care about the Green Turtle Star’s appearance. ’Strength is what matters most!’

Suddenly, a vortex materialized around him. His vision went black, and a wave of dizziness washed over him. Like a suffocating fish, Qin Feng’s eyes snapped open.

Dawn had broken!

Qin Feng looked up. A vermilion disc was now appearing on the horizon, its faint red glow dispelling the brilliance of the stars.

During the day, the light of the Sun Star was far too intense. Its Solar Star Power interfered with all the other stars, making it impossible to circulate the Star Sensing Divine Skill.

Qin Feng shook his head and sighed softly. He knew he had likely lost the Green Turtle Star forever.

"Cave Master!" On the small, flower-covered island by the lake, Luan Xiaochuan came running over at lightning speed, carrying a Jade Disc.

Qin Feng looked up, his gaze falling upon the quick-witted youth. Luan Xiaochuan was covered in morning dew, his brows touched with frost. He had clearly been waiting for a long time.

On the Jade Disc were several freshly picked Spirit Fruits. Their skins were plump and tender, and they pulsed with Spiritual Qi and Vitality, looking incredibly tempting.

"Cave Master, you must be tired after cultivating all night. Please have a fruit!"

Luan Xiaochuan wore a respectful expression, his eyes sharp and clever. Unlike the forced attentiveness of the past three months, this time his admiration and respect were genuine.

"Put the Jade Disc down," Qin Feng nodded, a smile in his eyes.

Luan Xiaochuan, visibly pleased, set down the Jade Disc and retreated without a sound.

Just then, the sound of flapping wings came from the willow tree. A completely featherless, fleshy bird was struggling to beat its wings as it fell out of the sky and landed in the branches.

CAW! CAW!

Flapping its wings for all it was worth, Eighth Master barely avoided falling out of the tree and into the lake.

"Xiaoba, you’re getting too fat!" A trace of exasperation appeared in Qin Feng’s eyes. The strange bird had been keeping to itself lately and was getting plumper by the day.

Wings flailing wildly, Eighth Master shrieked, "CAW! CAW! Brother Feng, is it right to mock such a generous and handsome bird?"

Qin Feng sneered. "Handsome? We’ll talk about handsome once your feathers grow back."

Eighth Master’s arrogant look instantly melted into one of deep sorrow. "Brother Feng, you’re not supposed to hit below the belt! Now Xiaoba is truly heartbroken!"

"Alright, enough with the smart remarks. How has that little fox been lately?"

Eighth Master immediately perked up, the single tuft of fluff on its head trembling in the wind. "Brother Feng, you were spot on! That little fox is addicted to stealing snacks. It sneaks into the Spirit Garden almost every day to steal a stalk of Yellow Essence. It must’ve figured out you’re letting it be, because a few days ago it moved its den into a patch of medicinal herbs near the Spirit Garden!"

Its beady little eyes darted about mischievously as Eighth Master gave a lewd grin. "Brother Feng, how about Eighth Master here messes with the Yellow Essence a little? I’ve recently learned a new trick. If I make a move, I guarantee that little fox is in for a world of hurt!"

"What kind of trick did you learn?"

Qin Feng looked at the strange bird, surprised.

Eighth Master grinned slyly, as if a conspiracy had just come to fruition. "Brother Feng, let old Eighth Master demonstrate for you!"

Seeing the nasty smirk on the strange bird’s face, Qin Feng had a bad feeling. ’This isn’t good,’ he thought, and quickly shouted, "Wait!"

But it was too late!

Eighth Master opened its beak, and a puff of pale Yellow Qi sprayed out, enveloping Qin Feng.

An indescribable stench, like a vat of Old Gold that had been festering for years, washed over him. Qin Feng’s face twisted, and he nearly suffocated.

Qin Feng tried to use his Innate True Qi to seal his acupoints, but the utterly nauseating smell still flooded his senses.

It felt as if it was tainting the very depths of his soul.

His formidable Cultivation, powerful enough to kill a Condensing Vein Realm expert, was utterly useless against this faint Yellow Qi.

Qin Feng tried to disperse it with water vapor, but it had no effect whatsoever.

An hour later, Qin Feng, his face ashen, glared at the despicable bird on the branch.

Although the nauseating aura wasn’t physically harmful, it induced a feeling so agonizing one would rather be dead.

Qin Feng ground out through clenched teeth, "Xiaoba, get over here!"

"Brother Feng!" Eighth Master knew it was in deep trouble. It turned, flapped its wings, and tried to flee.

Qin Feng made a grasping motion at the air, and an invisible force seized the despicable bird.

Soon, Eighth Master’s piercing shrieks filled the air.

"Don’t pluck my feathers! Don’t pluck my feathers! Brother Feng, I was wrong! Please don’t pluck my feathers...!"

A long while later, Eighth Master finally waddled away, but not before giving Qin Feng a long, mournful look.

The tail feathers it had worked so hard to grow were gone, leaving its rear end bare and terribly ugly once more.

Qin Feng remained where he was, a thoughtful expression on his face. ’That Little Slippery Head, Eighth Master, was clearly showing off his new Divine Ability to me.’

Eighth Master’s bloodline was truly incredible. It had yet to advance to the level of a Barbaric Beast, but it had already grasped one of its Divine Abilities. In that regard, it was even more of a freak than its master.

That mouthful of Yellow Qi was a Divine Ability awakened from Eighth Master’s bloodline.

According to the strange bird itself, this Divine Ability was called the Five Thieves Qi.

As the saying goes: The five thieves reside in the heart, their works manifest in the heavens. The Cosmos is held in the hand; ten thousand transformations arise from the body.

This Divine Ability directly affected the soul. It was exceptionally profound!

It was precisely because the Five Thieves Qi attacked the spirit that sealing his acupoints was completely useless.

Qin Feng sat cross-legged on the Dao platform, circulating a stream of Innate True Qi as he cultivated tirelessly.

「Day passed in the blink of an eye.」

As the first stars began to dot the sky, his perception became even clearer while standing atop the mountain peak.

Closing his eyes, Qin Feng once again circulated the Star Sensing Divine Skill, re-entering that mystical state.

Now experienced, Qin Feng navigated the process with ease. His mind sank into a state of emptiness, and his Spiritual Power pierced through the hazy barrier. His consciousness drifted upward, appearing within the incomparably vast and magnificent Star River.

This time, Qin Feng appeared in an unfamiliar Star Domain.

The Mixed Element Star Technique recorded that whenever one used the Star Sensing Divine Skill, one’s consciousness would never enter the Star River in the same location twice.

Qin Feng glanced around. Stars appeared before his eyes one after another, most of them emitting a bright radiance.

This was a completely unfamiliar region.

Qin Feng casually chose a direction and began to travel.

Qin Feng’s luck was good. Before long, a faint star appeared in the distance. It was shaped like a long-handled hammer—the Strong Hammer Star. Fusing with the Strong Hammer Star would grant one a talent for strength.

This might be compatible with his Xuanwu Great Power, but Qin Feng shook his head. ’I have no plans to become a blacksmith.’

His form turned into a streak of light as he traveled through the Star River. After an unknown amount of time, a beautiful blue star suddenly appeared in the distance, along with a faint, invisible pull.

’This is resonance!’ Qin Feng’s heart stirred, and he moved closer.

It was a beautiful star that glowed with a sea-blue luster. ’Neptune?’

Neptune was highly compatible with his Water Attribute constitution. If he could refine it as his Lifebound Star, his Water Attribute Divine Power would be significantly enhanced.

Qin Feng intended to move closer to investigate, but just then, a domineering aura erupted from Neptune. He saw a Valkyrie clad in Silver-White Battle Armor appear in the space above the star. This Valkyrie wielded the Sea King Trident and locked onto his consciousness.

Alarmed, Qin Feng’s form vanished in a flash of lightning. In the spot where he had just been, a beam of blue light that pierced the Void flashed through. With a BOOM, a black Void Gap tore open.

’What a ferocious woman!’

Qin Feng gasped and plunged back into the depths of the Star River without a second glance.

After that crisis, Qin Feng became much more cautious. He encountered many other stars, but most of them were unsuitable.

This continued until a purple, dragon-shaped star that radiated the air of an Emperor appeared before him. Once again, he felt the intense phenomenon of resonance.

’The Dragon Emperor Star?’
