Chapter 429: Chapter 429: Declan Pierce Left Janne Hayes to Her

"Uncle Kendall, what are you doing here?" Margaret’s voice came from behind.

Felix Kendall turned around and saw Tanya Sinclair walking over, holding Margaret’s hand.

He smiled at Margaret, his eyes fell on Tanya Sinclair, and his gaze deepened.

Different.

Actions, expressions, and attire can all be imitated, but real is real, a counterfeit is a counterfeit, a miss is as good as a mile.

"What’s wrong?" Tanya Sinclair felt a bit puzzled under his gaze and instinctively touched her own face.

Felix Kendall smiled and said, "Nothing, let’s go."

The three returned to the room, Margaret bouncing off to play with Joy, while Tanya Sinclair stayed with the two little ones. Felix Kendall and Vincent Hawthorne, two grown men, stood by, competing to occasionally take photos with their phones.

Of course, neither would include the other in their shots.

After a while, the two little ones got tired of playing and naturally went off with their respective guardians.

"Mommy, I want to go to the bathroom." Joy tugged Tanya Sinclair’s hand.

"Okay, Mommy will take you."

Vincent Hawthorne finally waited for this moment.

"Mr. Kendall, you should take Margaret back to rest. I’ll wait for them. After all, she’s my daughter and my daughter’s mother." He emphasized the last sentence, speaking with significant meaning.

He managed to assert dominance over Felix Kendall!

Felix Kendall met Vincent Hawthorne’s almost provocative gaze and sneered, "Then goodbye, Mr. Hawthorne."

Vincent Hawthorne thought coldly: Hopefully, never again!

Margaret naturally didn’t understand the tension among the adults and politely raised her small hand to wave at Vincent Hawthorne.

"Goodbye, Uncle Hawthorne."

Vincent Hawthorne smiled back, "Goodbye, Margaret."

He didn’t like Felix Kendall, but he wouldn’t be so rude as to involve an innocent child.

In the parking lot, Felix Kendall’s large G-Class was parked opposite Vincent Hawthorne’s car, so Felix Kendall immediately spotted the woman standing next to Vincent Hawthorne’s car.

——it was the same woman he encountered in the corridor earlier.

Felix Kendall squinted his eyes.

Interesting.

He quickly snapped a photo and sent it to Tanya Sinclair.

Without any extra words, he trusted that Tanya Sinclair, with her intelligence, would understand everything just from the photo.

Soon, Tanya Sinclair walked out with Joy. The wind was strong outside, so Tanya Sinclair crouched down to carefully tie Joy’s scarf, preventing the wind from getting in.

Vincent Hawthorne said, "You two wait for me at the door, I’ll go get the car."

He walked towards the white Bentley, to outsiders, they undoubtedly seemed like a perfect family of three.

The greeters at the door couldn’t help but feel envious: "Ma’am, you are so fortunate. Your daughter is adorable, and your husband is handsome and attentive."

Tanya Sinclair smiled but said nothing.

She didn’t even have the desire to explain anymore.

She took out her phone to send a message to Caden, saying she brought him something tasty. But upon opening WeChat, she first saw the photo Felix Kendall sent, and she zoomed in on it.

For a moment, she almost thought the woman standing in front of Vincent Hawthorne’s car in the photo was herself from a few years ago.

’Beep beep ——’ A short car horn sounded.

Vincent Hawthorne’s car had already pulled up.

Tanya Sinclair nonchalantly put away her phone and sat with Joy in the backseat.

As she fastened the seatbelt, she caught a glimpse of Vincent Hawthorne hanging up an incoming call.

He hadn’t even saved it with a name, just a string of numbers.

Tanya Sinclair knew Vincent Hawthorne well; he always operated with caution. If it were someone he knew or with whom there were significant interests, not only would he have saved the name, but he would have synced their birthday too. For less significant contacts, he would have saved the full name.

But clearly, this call was one he didn’t want anyone to know about or that he had any connection to the owner of the number.

"Daddy, why didn’t you answer the phone?" Joy saw this too and asked openly.

"Spam call," Vincent Hawthorne replied.

He glanced at Tanya Sinclair in the rearview mirror and saw her expression was calm, which was a relief to him.

He hadn’t expected to run into Leah Thorne here.

Vincent Hawthorne felt a headache coming on.

Fortunately, Tanya Sinclair hadn’t seen her.

"Tanya, let me drive you back."

"No need," Tanya Sinclair directly refused, "Janne Hayes will pick me up at the Sinclair family estate entrance."

Vincent Hawthorne was taken aback.

Janne Hayes?

Wasn’t that Declan Pierce’s former personal assistant?

Declan Pierce was dead, yet he left Janne Hayes for Tanya Sinclair to use?

Could those rumors be true?

After Declan Pierce’s death, he had left nearly his entire fortune to a woman... could that woman be—

"Drive," Tanya Sinclair’s cool and indifferent voice interrupted Vincent Hawthorne’s train of thought.

He took a deep breath and drove away.

The car drove steadily on the road.

Joy, tired from the day’s play, leaned against Tanya Sinclair, nodding off, her small head drooping bit by bit.

The inside of the car was very quiet. Vincent Hawthorne turned up the temperature of the air conditioning and played some calming music.

When the car arrived at the Sinclair family estate, a Maybach was indeed waiting in the corner. Janne Hayes got out of the car, opened the back door, and in a leisurely manner, waited for Tanya Sinclair to get in.

He met Vincent Hawthorne’s gaze through the car window glass, looking calm and indifferent, and nodded slightly.

Inside the car, Joy had already fallen asleep. Tanya Sinclair gently placed her in the back seat and covered her with her own jacket.

Vincent Hawthorne watched her gentle movements, his throat tightening slightly.

"Tanya," he called to her softly.

Tanya Sinclair looked up, her eyes calm as a still pond.

"Thank you for today," Vincent Hawthorne pressed his lips, "Joy had a great time."

"She’s my daughter, it’s natural for me to take care of her and accompany her. You don’t need to thank me," Tanya Sinclair’s tone was mild, "But next time, if you want to meet, arrange a time with me in advance, don’t ambush me."

With that, she got out of the car and directly got into Janne Hayes’s car.

Vincent Hawthorne sat in the car, watching the black sedan slide away beside him, and heaved a deep sigh.

Winning Tanya Sinclair back was going to be a long, arduous task.

Though he couldn’t blame anyone else, it was his own doing!

The phone vibrated again with a new message.

Leah Thorne: [Mr. Hawthorne, I just happened to see your car today, I wasn’t intentionally bothering you or following you.]

Vincent Hawthorne looked at the message, his brow furrowed. He tapped into the conversation, hesitated for a moment, typed a few words but then erased them, and finally went ahead to block Leah Thorne’s WeChat.
