Chapter 387: Chapter 387: He Had Seen Her Before

Daisy Bell smiled sweetly and started her exaggerated flattery.

"As expected of Mr. Monroe, I haven’t even opened my mouth, and you already know what I want to say! No wonder you can become the god of the investment world! You truly have foresight! Amazing!"

Jasper Monroe: "..."

He usually doesn’t like flattery, and no one dares to flatter him in person, so he hears it rarely.

Even if someone does, they are subtle about it, unlike Daisy Bell, who is so over-the-top, it’s the first time Jasper encountered such a thing.

Yet somehow, he didn’t feel annoyed.

Jasper Monroe leaned back lazily in his chair, adjusted his glasses out of habit, and looked at Daisy Bell, whose every thought was written on her face.

"Mr. Monroe, tell me, what’s the deal between Declan Pierce and the shipping magnate’s daughter, Wynn Winslow? Don’t worry, I keep secrets—I won’t give you away!"

Jasper squinted at her, chuckled lightly, "I’m not particularly interested in other people’s personal affairs. Sorry, Ms. Bell, I don’t have any clues for you here."

Daisy’s face fell, unwilling to give up, she tried again, "Mr. Monroe, then..."

Before she could finish, Jasper already got up, buttoned his jacket, and said flatly, "Thank you for the dinner, Ms. Bell. Let’s go."

His attitude made it clear that she wouldn’t extract any information tonight.

It’s fine, she thought, there’s always another day.

Daisy composed herself, greeted Boss Warner and Miss Wenworth, and left with Jasper Monroe.

The two walked under the streetlights, their shadows stretched long, leisurely and serene.

Jasper wasn’t a talkative person, but when Daisy felt awkward, she couldn’t stop talking.

"Mr. Monroe, I don’t think you’re as terrifying as the rumors say!"

Jasper glanced at her with interest, "Oh? What do they say about me?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Well, TN Jewelry’s marketing director, we had dinner before. He said dining with you was sheer torture. Your aura was so strong that no one at the table had an appetite," Daisy earnestly said, "But having met you, I found that’s not the case at all! You’re quite pleasant to dine with!"

The last sentence wasn’t flattery, but rather the truth.

Jasper Monroe was very graceful while eating.

Jasper listened quietly, then slightly smirked, the thought-provoking, "So, my private reputation is that bad. What’s the name of TN’s marketing director again? Cai, right?" He pondered.

"Yes, Director Cai."

Jasper nodded slightly, having some impression of him.

"Next time, you can tell him if he has any suggestions, feel free to tell me in person. If they are right, I will consider them."

Daisy instantly respected Jasper, finding it rare for such a top-tier boss to be so humble—truly remarkable!

At the intersection, the driver was waiting by the car door.

Jasper glanced at Daisy, "Where are you headed, Ms. Bell? I can give you a ride."

Before Daisy could answer, her assistant, Mia, drove up in her cute little car.

"Daisy!" Mia called out, "I’m here to pick you up."

Seeing this, Jasper didn’t insist. He was about to get into the car but was stopped by Daisy, "Wait a moment, Mr. Monroe!"

Jasper looked down at her hand holding him, and Daisy immediately felt a chill, quickly pulling back.

"Sorry, Mr. Monroe, I have another favor to ask."

Jasper turned back, patiently waiting for her to continue.

"Mr. Monroe, you know Declan Pierce well. Could you pass a message to him for me? If he truly doesn’t like Tanya anymore, he should clearly explain it to her. Don’t deceive her, don’t use her." Daisy was very serious, "Tanya Sinclair is my only friend. If Declan crosses the line, I’ll do whatever it takes to get back at him."

Jasper gazed at the woman before him, slightly narrowing his eyes. After a moment, he chuckled softly and agreed, "Alright, I’ll relay the message."

Daisy beamed, "Thank you so much, Mr. Monroe!"

She turned to leave but then remembered something and came back.

"Mr. Monroe, hold out your hand. I have something good for you."

Jasper, puzzled, extended his hand. Daisy placed a business card in his palm.

"It’s Boss Warner’s number. If Mr. Monroe wants to dine here again, call this number to reserve in advance." Daisy waved with a smile, "I’ll be off now."

Jasper glanced at the card in his hand, then looked up at Daisy’s quickly disappearing figure as she hopped into the car.

He smirked a bit, pocketing the card, then turned to get into his car.

The black luxury car sped through the night.

Jasper checked some stock market information on his tablet. As he put it aside, he glanced out the window.

Once again, he saw Daisy Bell’s face on the advertisement screen at the bus stop.

His gaze became deep and obscure, and he murmured softly, "Margaret Bell... luckily, you don’t know me."

In fact, ten years ago, during that much-talked-about Bell Family scam, Jasper didn’t fall for it.

The one who did was Zion Monroe.

He invested two billion in one go, and it was Jasper who filled the financial hole for him, making Jasper the creditor instead.

Because of this matter, the elders who initially supported Zion in the family simply gave up on him.

From then on, Jasper became the sole heir.

Closing his eyes, Jasper suddenly recalled the summer of ten years ago, or perhaps eleven.

He had seen Daisy Bell once, sitting in the car...
