Chapter 382: Chapter 382: Extraordinary Treatment
Tom hadn’t spoken yet, but his subordinates couldn’t stand Tanya Sinclair addressing their boss by name, glaring at her with fierce expressions, ready to make a move.
Tom stopped them with a shout.
He walked over with a cigar in his mouth, looked at Tanya Sinclair, and bowed slightly with a gentlemanly demeanor: "I apologize, Ms. Sinclair, my men are rough people, did they scare you?"
Tanya Sinclair only felt it was ironic.
The leader of a murderous terrorist was here pretending to be a gentleman.
But of course, she couldn’t say this out loud. She was there to save lives as a hostage, not because she really wanted to die there.
"Mr. Tom, I don’t think we have any entanglement. But you exchanged three hundred sixty-six lives for mine. Now can you tell me your purpose?"
Tom smiled mysteriously: "No rush, we have plenty of time to chat. Please sit."
Tanya Sinclair glanced at the sofa next to her and slowly walked over, supporting her sore knee from the fall.
Seeing this, Tom’s face suddenly changed as if facing a great enemy.
"Ms. Sinclair, did you injure your foot on the way here, or..."
Tanya Sinclair glanced at the subordinate who had just captured her and said coldly, "Thanks to your diligent subordinate, I almost broke my leg before even seeing you..."
Before Tanya finished speaking, Tom’s face suddenly darkened. He grabbed the nearby ashtray and smashed it hard over the subordinate’s head.
With a loud "Bang," fragments flew out, and the subordinate was hit until his head was bleeding.
Tanya Sinclair was stunned by this sudden scene.
Before she could react, Tom picked up an iron rod next to him and hit the subordinate’s leg with force, one strike after another.
Listening to the man’s screams, Tanya held her breath.
It wasn’t until the subordinate’s leg was broken that Tom threw away the rod and coldly ordered the nearby subordinates to drag him out.
"Sorry, Ms. Sinclair." While wiping the blood splattered on his hands, Tom sincerely apologized to Tanya Sinclair, "I had instructed him to bring you over politely."
Tanya Sinclair: "..."
She thought Tom was sick, seriously sick.
Tanya Sinclair: "What’s your purpose in going to such lengths to bring me here?"
Tom, however, kept it a secret, "This, you’ll naturally find out once we reach the place. I’ll be stepping out for a bit, Ms. Sinclair, please wait here for a while."
After saying this, Tom left, leaving Tanya Sinclair alone in the entire control room of the ship.
Tanya Sinclair looked around and noticed several surveillance cameras installed overhead. She slowly got up, feigning curiosity as she looked around left and right, pretending to unintentionally touch the necklace on her neck.
When she reached a blind spot in the surveillance, Tanya Sinclair quickly used her watch equipped with a communication device to contact the military.
"I am currently safe and on the ship. But I don’t know where Tom will take me..."
Before finishing her sentence, she keenly sensed footsteps, and Tanya Sinclair quickly cut off the signal.
As she turned around, someone entered the room.
But to Tanya Sinclair’s surprise, it wasn’t Tom, but a woman with equally dark skin, delicate features, and glasses, appearing to be in her early twenties.
She spoke fluent Rhovanese as soon as she opened her mouth.
"Ms. Sinclair, I’m Flora. Tom asked me to come and treat your wound."
"..."
Tanya Sinclair was now completely confused.
She had seen the hostages on the deck earlier; they were all tied up like livestock. Why was she, a hostage, being treated like a VIP?
Seeing Tanya Sinclair remain still, Flora thought she was worried about the wound treatment and quickly explained, "I’m a village doctor; our family has been doctors for generations. Rest assured, Ms. Sinclair, I’m skilled at treating external injuries."
Tanya Sinclair could only sit down and let Flora treat the wound on her knee.
She could feel the ship moving, not knowing where she would be taken...
"Flora, are you from Rhovan?" Tanya Sinclair tried to make friends with Flora.
Flora smiled shyly: "My mother is from Rhovan, but I’ve never been there."
Tanya Sinclair asked: "Then why are you with Tom and those terrorists? Did they kidnap you?"
Flora shook her head and only said: "Tom protects our entire village and gives us a way to live. I came on my own."
Tanya Sinclair: "... But he has hurt and killed many people."
Flora remained silent and just concentrated on treating Tanya Sinclair’s knee injury.
Tanya Sinclair attempted to ask her a few more questions to figure out why Tom had brought her there, but Flora claimed ignorance to every question.
Tanya Sinclair gave up as well.
Flora’s bandaging skills were proficient, and she finished quickly.
"It’s done, Ms. Sinclair." Flora stood up and said, "I’ll take you to your room to rest. The ship will dock in two days."
They even prepared a room for her?
Tanya Sinclair followed Flora upstairs to the second floor of the ship.
Now the ship was sailing on the ocean, with no land in sight. Two other ships followed on either side, like escort ships, with a dozen armed guards patrolling the deck.
Escaping from here was impossible.
Tanya Sinclair touched the tracking necklace around her neck, only hoping that the military would follow the signal and find her.
Flora led Tanya Sinclair to a room near the stern and unlocked the door with a key.
Inside the room, much to Tanya Sinclair’s surprise, was clean and tidy, obviously carefully prepared in advance, and even provided her with food and water.
Tanya Sinclair frowned slightly: "Do all your hostages receive this kind of treatment?"
Flora misunderstood Tanya Sinclair’s displeasure and quickly said, "Ms. Sinclair, if there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, just let me know."
Tanya Sinclair: "..."
She felt as if she had come not as a hostage but as if she was on vacation.
