Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Surprised, the Fiancé Didn’t Come, but His Uncle Did?

Ivy Sherwood took a step back, startled by the sudden movement.

Seth Scott gently touched the hair near Ivy Sherwood’s ear. "You have something here."

It was just a bit of fuzz that had gotten stuck in her hair, and Seth Scott removed it for her.

"Oh? Thank you!"

"Your presence really brightens up my little shop. Please, come in and have a seat. I’ll get you some tea. Nina is inside too." Ivy Sherwood didn’t think much of the little incident.

"Nina sent me some photos a couple of days ago. It looked beautiful. Why does it look different now?" Seth Scott asked, looking at the surroundings.

"Bro, it’s all Thea Sherwood’s fault," Nina Scott grumbled. ’A woman like her is just too much.’

Ivy Sherwood went to pour Seth Scott a glass of water and handed it to him. He reached out to take it.

The glass wasn’t very big, so when Seth Scott took it, his fingers inevitably brushed against Ivy’s. Thinking he had a firm grip, she let go. But the glass suddenly slipped, falling to the floor and splashing water all over her hand.

Seeing this, Seth Scott quickly grabbed a napkin to wipe her hand. "Are you okay?"

"I’m fine, but your suit..." There were water stains on Seth Scott’s expensive suit.

Seth Scott said, "The suit isn’t important, as long as you’re all right. I’m sorry, I didn’t get a good grip on it."

"I’m the one who should apologize. I thought you had it."

From a short distance away, Julian Grant was watching the scene unfold, a sense of crisis rising within him. "They’re already holding hands! That Seth Scott’s intentions are as clear as day. Based on my years in the entertainment industry, if he isn’t interested in her, I’ll eat my hat!"

"But what I find strange is that Ivy Sherwood doesn’t seem particularly special. Her looks are pretty average, to be blunt. For you all to be interested in her... Hey! It just doesn’t add up, does it?"

Julian Grant was muttering to himself when he glanced over and saw his friend walking right over there.

Seeing this, Julian Grant hurried to follow.

Meanwhile, Nina Scott was still saying, "That’s because Ivy is too kind, letting Thea Sherwood off the hook like that."

"Thea Sherwood paid for the damages, so I wouldn’t say I was kind," Ivy Sherwood added.

After hearing this, Seth Scott asked, "Well, do you need my help with anything?"

Since Ivy Sherwood’s back was to the entrance, she didn’t see Quentin Blackwood walk in.

Not until a voice sounded from behind her. "Boss Sherwood."

The familiar voice made Ivy Sherwood whip her head around.

"Y-Young Uncle?" Ivy Sherwood stared at the man before her in disbelief.

’Didn’t he say he didn’t have time and wouldn’t be coming?’

"President Blackwood, Mr. Grant." Seth Scott greeted the arrivals.

He extended his hand for a handshake with Quentin Blackwood, but Quentin merely gave a slight nod in acknowledgment.

Julian Grant smoothly stepped in, extending his own hand to shake Seth Scott’s, saving the moment from becoming awkward.

"I didn’t expect to see you here, Mr. Scott," Julian Grant remarked.

Seth Scott replied, "Ivy is like a little sister to me. Of course I had to be here for her grand opening. I’m just surprised that someone as busy as President Blackwood would make an appearance."

He recalled the last time they’d met. ’Quentin Blackwood isn’t the type to meddle in others’ affairs, yet he carried Ivy away and even taught those people a lesson on her behalf. He was being a little too good to her.’

And now, here he was at her brand’s grand opening.

’If it’s because she’s his nephew’s fiancée, then why isn’t her actual fiancé here?’

Julian Grant quickly jumped in to explain, "Even busy people need to get out and about, right? I just happened to hear our dear Ivy was opening her brand’s store, so I dragged him along to unwind."

The name "our dear Ivy" gave Ivy Sherwood goosebumps. ’I don’t think Mr. Grant and I are that familiar with each other, are we?’

"Mr. Grant, please just call me Ivy Sherwood."

"It’s just a nickname, what’s the big deal?" Julian Grant said, waving it off casually.

Ivy Sherwood stealthily glanced at the man beside Julian. After calling her "Boss Sherwood" upon arrival, he hadn’t said another word.

Still, she had never expected Quentin Blackwood to come, and she was overjoyed that he did.

"Congratulations, dear Ivy. You’re Boss Sherwood now," Julian Grant said cheerfully.

Right on cue, someone came in carrying a large flower basket—a gift from Julian Grant.

"Thank you, Mr. Grant."

Quentin Blackwood, who was standing nearby, added quietly, "Congratulations."

"Thank you. I didn’t think you would come."

Quentin Blackwood offered only two words: "Passing by."

"Oh." Ivy Sherwood lowered her gaze. ’Even if he was just passing by, I’m still happy,’ she thought.

Quentin Blackwood’s gift had, in fact, already been delivered. Ivy Sherwood just didn’t know it.

Before the store even opened, Quentin Blackwood had arranged for someone to place a large order. It was the first order for Iris, and it was substantial. He had instructed a subordinate to make the purchase: one bottle of perfume for every employee in his company, his personal gift to her.

He had tried her perfume himself. As someone who normally detested fragrances, the fact that he didn’t find hers repulsive—and even carried it with him often—was a testament to its quality.

However, Ivy Sherwood had no idea Quentin Blackwood was the one behind the order. The representative had claimed they saw her advertisements and wanted to stock up during the grand opening sale.

Ivy saw that the man was from a retail store that sold a variety of brands, so she hadn’t thought anything more of it.

With three handsome men suddenly gathered at Ivy Sherwood’s shop, the brand ambassador, Milo Jacobs, who was in the middle of a live stream, accidentally panned his camera over them. In an instant, the comments section exploded.

"Three handsome guys in suits! Now *those* are what you call powerful CEOs!"

"Oh my god, what am I seeing in a stream with only 100 viewers? I’ve gotta call my bestie to come watch this."

"With so many handsome men, why are there so few people in the stream? The store doesn’t look very busy either. This doesn’t make sense."

"Drop the address, I’m on my way NOW!"

Even though the camera only swept past for a moment—too fast to even grab a screenshot—some viewers still caught a glimpse of those three handsome faces.

When Milo Jacobs saw these comments, he didn’t dare tell his boss that the live stream camera had just captured them.

Quentin Blackwood looked at Ivy Sherwood, who was just standing there. ’Has she forgotten something?’

After a minute passed with no reaction from Ivy, Quentin Blackwood’s cold voice cut through the air. "He gets a glass of water. Are you not going to offer us one?"

"Oh, I’m so sorry, I forgot!"

Wary of spilling water from glasses again, Ivy Sherwood simply grabbed two bottles of mineral water and handed them to Quentin Blackwood and Julian Grant.

"Thanks," Julian Grant said, not thinking twice before taking his and starting to drink.

Quentin Blackwood merely glanced down at the bottle, pausing for a couple of seconds before finally taking it.

His fingers were long and slender with well-defined knuckles, his nails neatly trimmed. They looked like a work of art.

’Sure enough, handsome people make everything look good. It’s just blatant favoritism from the heavens!’

Quentin Blackwood accepted the bottle but only took a small sip.

Ivy found that odd. ’I thought he reminded me because he was actually thirsty.’
