Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Head Buried Between His Legs

Quentin Blackwood looked down at the woman clutching his pant leg.

Perhaps the air was thin down below, because Ivy Sherwood’s face was flushed bright red.

Her eyes, filled with a silent plea, glistened with unshed tears. Though her makeup hid her true features, the sight of those clear, pitiful eyes was enough to make one want to torment her.

"Uncle!" Ivy Sherwood mouthed silently.

Her rosy lips moved, forming the words, "Please, make him leave?"

The desk was too low, and Ivy’s legs had gone numb from squatting. She couldn’t sit, so she had no choice but to kneel on the floor.

Coupled with the fact that she was still clutching his pant leg, it was difficult not to let one’s mind wander to indecent places.

An image from that night suddenly surfaced in Quentin Blackwood’s mind: Ivy Sherwood, on her period, kneeling on the floor for him...

Seeing Quentin’s impassive expression, Ivy was certain he was doing it on purpose.

’He’s deliberately keeping Caleb Blackwood here just to watch me suffer, isn’t he?’

’He knows I don’t dare come out. That I can only hide here, unable to even straighten my back, forced to cling to his leg just to keep my balance.’

’Making Caleb Blackwood leave would only take a single word, but Quentin deliberately refused.’

The angrier Ivy got, the more she stewed, until she finally sank her teeth into Quentin’s knee in a fit of pique. Her sharp canines pressed down hard, likely leaving an imprint even through the fabric of his suit.

"Sss..." Quentin drew a sharp breath. He reached down and seized Ivy’s chin, the string of Buddha Beads on his wrist dangling right before her eyes.

His fingers were beautiful—long, slender, with distinct knuckles. Even as they gripped her chin, they looked like a work of art.

On the surface, the man appeared noble and detached. With his long legs crossed, his profile was as perfect as a painting.

But in reality, a dark undercurrent swirled in his eyes. He was wicked to the core.

Caleb Blackwood finished his call. Hearing Quentin’s sharp intake of breath, he asked with concern, "Third Brother, what’s wrong?"

If he took just one step closer, he would see the suggestive scene under the desk.

Only then did Quentin release her chin. He pulled back his hand. "It’s nothing."

Quentin lowered his gaze, giving Ivy a look that was a clear warning to behave.

"I’ve already called Silas Blackwood," Caleb said with a placating smile. "He’ll be over in a moment to apologize to you, Third Brother."

’Ivy deeply regretted coming back to warn Quentin about Caleb’s arrival. If only she’d known, she would have hidden anywhere else!’

’If Quentin didn’t get rid of him soon, was she going to be stuck here forever?’

Ivy’s legs were completely numb, and she couldn’t find a comfortable position.

But she was completely helpless. It was safe to say Quentin held all the cards.

’Maybe I’m not being clear enough,’ Ivy wondered. ’Is it possible Quentin just isn’t getting the hint?’

She took out her phone and sent Quentin a text.

"Uncle, my legs are numb."

"Uncle, saving a life is the highest form of charity."

Quentin’s phone buzzed twice. He picked it up and saw Ivy’s messages.

An imperceptible smirk touched the corner of his lips. He tapped the screen a couple of times, and a moment later, Ivy received his reply: "And why should I save you?"

’This man... he’d watch someone die and not lift a finger. It looks like I’ll have to find my own way out of this.’

’Since he was merciless first, he couldn’t blame her for being ruthless!’

She purposely made her voice high and let out a soft, coquettish moan. In the quiet study, Caleb Blackwood heard it clearly.

"Third Brother, did I just hear... hear something...?"

’Did I just hear a woman’s voice?’

"You misheard," Quentin said in a low voice.

"Mmm-hmm~" Ivy continued her performance.

Caleb was sure he hadn’t misheard. As a man of the world, how could he not understand what that sound meant?

’But wasn’t Quentin supposed to be immune to feminine charms?’

’It couldn’t possibly be a woman, could it?’

"Is that a bug, Third Brother? There are a lot of mosquitos this time of year."

He started to lean in their direction, trying to get a better look.

Ivy immediately snatched Quentin’s suit jacket from the nearby side table, threw it over herself, and buried her head between his legs.

’If you’re going to put on an act, you have to make it convincing.’

Quentin’s brow twitched violently. ’This woman!’

Caleb couldn’t see the person hidden under the desk, only the draped suit jacket and the unmistakable shape of a woman beneath it. The sight was even more tantalizingly suggestive.

Caleb froze, staring at Quentin in utter disbelief.

’This Third Brother of his, lauded as a holy prodigy, was actually... doing *that*?’

’Who would have thought there’d be a woman hiding under Quentin’s desk!’

’And by the looks of it, they were right in the middle of... *that*!’

’So impeccably dressed and proper on the outside, but in reality...’

’This Third Brother of his was even wilder than he was.’

"My apologies, Third Brother. I didn’t realize... I’ve come at a bad time and interrupted you." As a fellow man, Caleb knew that while a little extra stimulation could be exciting, being interrupted mid-act was incredibly frustrating.

’No wonder his expression was so foul just now, and his tone so cold. He must have been furious that my arrival interrupted his... fun.’

"I’ll bring that good-for-nothing son of mine to apologize tomorrow. Ah, to be young and full of vigor again."

At his words, Quentin’s expression darkened even further.

Seeing this, a chill went down Caleb’s spine. Quentin was definitely angry. He’d better leave, and fast.

When Caleb had finally gone and the study door clicked shut, Ivy threw off the suit jacket, gasping for air. She’d nearly suffocated under there.

Caleb was finally gone. Who knows how much longer he would have stayed otherwise.

As Ivy started to crawl out, a hand clamped down on her shoulder, holding her in place. Quentin’s expression was now as thunderous as it could possibly be.

"Having fun?"

"This is your fault," she retorted. "If you had just sent him away earlier, or not let him in at all, I wouldn’t have had to resort to such a desperate plan."

’At least now, Caleb probably won’t be coming back any time soon.’

’And whatever Caleb now thought of Quentin was none of her business.’

Quentin stared into her eyes. ’She just ruined my reputation and image, and now she’s the one acting aggrieved?’

Ivy scrambled out from under the desk, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. The space had been so cramped, she felt like her bones had been compressed.

After stretching her stiff limbs, Ivy had no intention of lingering. She had been on her way out anyway.

She gave Quentin a little wave. "See you next time, Uncle."

She hadn’t even taken a single step before a long arm snaked out, hooked around her waist, and yanked her back.

Ivy’s backside hit the edge of the desk. Quentin planted his hands on either side of her, trapping her completely in the space before him.

His chest was broad, and an intense, oppressive aura emanated from him. Before him, the petite Ivy looked as delicate as a bird nestled against a person.

"Tease me and then try to run?" His voice was laced with a rough, heavy note.

When Ivy had buried her head between his thighs, the impact had been immense.

’In that instant, he’d wanted to stop being a man and just be an animal. Being a beast didn’t seem so bad. Besides, she had brought this all on herself!’

"I wasn’t teasing you," she said, her face a mask of innocence.

’She swore she’d had no intention of seducing Quentin.’

But Quentin just sneered, his deep eyes glittering with danger.

He gripped her chin again. "Don’t you like to bite? Don’t you like to kneel between a man’s legs? If I don’t do *something*, then I’d be letting Caleb’s misunderstanding go to waste, wouldn’t I?"
