Chapter 1879: Chapter 15: Battle of the Twin Gods (Part 2)
Now, no matter how you look at it, it’s a good opportunity. The Emperor has already been distracted, so this is exactly the time for them to attack.
The Third Fleet once again launched a barrage of spiritual power cannon blasts, but this time the Emperor seemed to completely ignore them, not caring at all about the wounds inflicted on him, and was instead fully focused on sniping at that small water droplet.
The small water droplet survived time after time amidst the scarlet spiritual power beams, without even a ripple appearing on its surface, truly astounding everyone.
"Roar!!"
At this moment, a roar suddenly echoed in everyone’s hearts, coming so suddenly, it seemed both close at hand and far away, making it unclear whether it was real or an illusion.
"Roar!!!"
As the droplet approached, the roar sounded again, and this time, it became clearer.
"This sound... seems to be coming from that droplet..."
The Godslayer Team looked incredulously in the direction of the droplet, thinking they were experiencing auditory hallucinations.
However, as the angry roar became clearer and louder, they finally confirmed their guess, the sound was indeed emanating from the droplet!
"There’s someone inside this droplet!?"
Everyone was shocked by this thought. They originally assumed the droplet was a magic treasure, possibly a Divine Artifact once used by some god, but never considered it might be a container.
"Roar!!!!"
Inside the droplet, a figure flashed by, followed by a terrifying human face being projected on it, as if desperately trying to break free, constantly howling in agony.
"Wait! That was... a prison cage!?"
The crowd was stunned upon seeing this scene; the droplet was neither a Divine Artifact nor a normal container, but a prison cage holding some kind of being.
"Could it be..."
The members of the Godslayer Team weren’t foolish, by now they had guessed something, each showing a shocked expression.
The Emperor twisted his body desperately a few times, seemingly trying to move away from the droplet, but he appeared bound by something, unable to successfully move after trying.
This sight was peculiar to behold, clearly a gigantic lump the size of a constant star was cowering in front of a droplet not even the size of a human fist, truly a visual shock.
Over at the Third Fleet, many people hadn’t even figured out what was happening, because the droplet was so small, they hadn’t detected its presence at all. From their perspective, the Emperor seemed to be fighting against empty space, at one moment launching attacks at empty spots, at another twisting to escape, truly bizarre.
Li Xiang was staring intently at the scene there, hoping the droplet would quickly reach its destination, because he too wanted to know what kind of being was imprisoned inside what seemed to be a prison cage.
Eventually, the droplet reached its target location, and the Emperor couldn’t avoid a collision with it.
The next second, everything fell into silence, and the droplet fused directly in front of everyone’s eyes.
"Is it... over?"
Twin-tailed Lily was a bit dazed, feeling quite disappointed; the droplet reached its destination, but why suddenly no follow-up?
"Wait, look, the Emperor seems off."
A member of the Godslayer Team quietly reminded.
"Roar!!"
In the next moment, an earth-shattering roar erupted, a giant hand suddenly reached out from inside the scarlet lump, tearing the flesh there to smithereens.
"Ang!!"
The Emperor let out a cry of anguish, this time truly hurt, countless tendrils thrashing about as thousands of eyes suddenly opened on his body, each glowing with scarlet light.
This sight truly startled everyone, partly due to the sudden large hand reaching out from the Emperor’s interior, partly because they didn’t expect this giant lump to hide so many eyes on it. It was fine when they were all closed, but the moment they opened, it seemed even more disgusting.
"Shoo shoo shoo shoo shoo!"
Perhaps out of pain, the eyes on the surface of the Emperor’s body continuously shot out red spiritual power, indiscriminately attacking in all directions.
Each of those attacks was immensely powerful, many people on the Third Fleet’s side got hit, some unlucky ones were even pierced through their defenses, disappearing along with their spacecraft.
The Godslayer Team, to protect the Black Soul who was gathering strength, had no choice but to brace themselves, luckily their target wasn’t large, luck was relatively on their side, and not many attacks came their way, barely escaping the calamity.
On the Emperor’s body, the drastic changes continued, after that large hand reached out, its owner revealed his true form.
He was a pale giant, even while wrapped within the scarlet lump, it was evident his entire form shimmered with endless electric arcs, his momentum surprisingly unmatched against the Emperor.
"Roar!!"
The giant at this moment had only drilled halfway out of the Emperor’s body, his lower half still stuck inside the lump, but he seemed impatient, starting to frantically tear at the flesh in front of him, swallowing large mouthfuls into his mouth.
"That’s... that’s... is it him!? It’s actually him! Turns out he wasn’t dead, but sealed by the Star Lord!!"
Witnessing this scene, Li Xiang finally figured out the identity of the person inside the droplet. The scene back then was unforgettable; this giant had ravaged the outskirts of Qionghua City, which was his hometown, and also the first Extraordinary Level Alien Species he had ever encountered, how could he possibly forget.
Luckily, the Star Lord personally took action and quickly suppressed the fellow; originally, he thought the enemy had been obliterated, but unexpectedly he was imprisoned in this small droplet.
In other words, the face twisted in pain he saw outside the droplet belonged to him.
"Who is he? Why is he inside that droplet?"
The nearby members of the Godslayer Team heard his vague words and urgently inquired.
Li Xiang calmed his excited mood, recalling the scene back then, then spoke the name from his memory.
"Old God, Orestox... he... was imprisoned by the Extreme Star Lord inside the droplet..."
Once these words were spoken, everyone was immediately stunned.
"So... it was indeed sealed by that being personally... this explains it..."
"Old God? Isn’t that a term from the Aigus Star Domain? Did this guy come from Aigus?"
"I don’t know, I heard new gods in Aigus try to seize the power of the Old Gods. If they succeed, those Old Gods will be exiled or even stripped of their Divine Domain power, falling to Fake Transcendent Level..."
"But they were once of Extraordinary Level strength after all. Even if their level of communication with Dark Spiritual Power falls, their total spiritual power and constitution remain intact. Being able to imprison such a powerhouse within this droplet, it seems only that being could manage it..."
"I... I previously even suspected that bead... I was truly blind!"
"..."
In the midst of their discussions, the battle on the scene was becoming increasingly fierce, almost reaching the climax.
Orestox continuously attacked the Emperor, seemingly treating its flesh as his own supplement, trying to recoup the years of imprisonment’s anger and consumption through it.
And the Emperor wasn’t willing to concede either, the tendrils on his body frantically attacking Orestox back, similarly tearing at the latter’s flesh, their battle akin to two primal beasts, filled with wild violence.
