Chapter 1063: Chapter 443: Who Is the Prey? (Part 4)
The polyhedron traced a graceful arc through the air, the blood-red symbols on its surface flickering like meteors.
It slowly rotated above the array, and time seemed to become viscous at this moment.
When the dice finally landed on the crystal pedestal, the entire array was instantly activated.
The pupil of the "Eye of Truth" suddenly enlarged, shooting out a dazzling silver-white beam;
The "Wheel of Destiny" began to spin wildly, its twelve spokes blurring into a picture of light and shadow;
The constellations on the periphery awakened one by one, revealing their mysterious characteristics.
The Paradox Dice continued to roll on the crystal pedestal, each area it crossed triggering a corresponding omen manifestation.
Finally, the dice stopped in the realm of the "Blood Seat" constellation, showing the number "3."
But this "3" was completely different from ordinary numbers.
Three dots emitted a dark silver glow, slowly changing in size, like three eyes rhythmically blinking.
"The Blood Seat... representing the constellation of predator and hunt."
Ron began decoding the meanings of the stars, while observing the reactions of other constellations in the array:
"But the number ’3’, often represents ’incomplete power’ or ’impeded action’ in mysticism."
More details began to appear in the array.
The constellation of "Lead-Iron Star Cluster" emitted a weak blue glow, symbolizing a "powerful but restricted threat."
The "Wheel of Balance" began to slowly rotate, the golden scales on the wheel sparkling, representing "weighing and compromise."
And most interestingly, the "Wandering Companion Star" surprisingly displayed a pure white light.
That was the symbol of "elegant evasion" and "wise retreat."
"These combinations together..."
Ron carefully analyzed the combined meanings of the stars:
"Impeded hunting of the Blood Seat, limited threat of Lead-Iron Star Cluster, weighing and compromise of the Wheel of Balance, elegant evasion of the Wandering Companion Star..."
A clear image began to form in his mind.
The Time Hound clan indeed would still pose a threat to him, but the extent of this threat had considerably reduced.
Some powerful force was stopping the highest-level hounds from acting personally, opting for "elegant evasion."
"The Dog King will not come... at least not in the short term."
This conclusion allowed Ron to breathe a little easier, but he quickly noticed another problem.
Although the advanced threat was temporarily lifted, the "incomplete hunting" of the Blood Seat still existed.
This meant other levels of Time Hounds would continue to track his traces.
"Ordinary hounds and young elite individuals... they are not affected by that ’elegant evasion.’"
More information began to appear on the surface of the Paradox Dice.
The infinite symbols on the six faces gradually faded, replaced by a series of mysterious divination patterns:
A giant silver pocket watch, its dial hands pointing to midnight;
A female figure in a starry robe, standing with her back to the observer, surrounded by the vortex of time;
A pack of hounds bound by invisible chains, their eyes burning with flames of fear;
And an ancient and wise pair of eyes, reflecting the rise and fall of countless eras in its pupils.
"I see..."
Upon seeing these patterns, Ron finally understood the true reason for the reduced threat:
"It’s not because my strength is strong enough, but because of the origin of the silver pocket watch."
That pocket watch, belonging to the Time Guardians, is none other than the relic of Clock King Erica.
And Erica, evidently had once left an extremely deep psychological trauma on the Time Hound clan.
Especially for the Dog King who had experienced that terrible massacre, the fear of Erica’s presence had permeated the marrow.
Even her relic was enough to make these high-level predators retreat.
But the information displayed by the divination was not finished yet.
