Chapter 868: Chapter 776: Extracting the Automatic Meditation Trait_2
From optimizing the magic potion’s formula, to energy guidance during the refining process, to the underlying logic of Spiritual Power operation during the potion’s effect, every detail was as clear as if engraved in his mind.
Duke opened his eyes and took a deep breath.
A complete plan formed in his mind.
"How to give the White Mist Forest Potion the characteristic of Automatic Meditation," a complete, reproducible plan that can succeed as long as the steps are followed.
The core lies in the technique of energy guidance during the refining process, which is an extremely delicate manipulation technique requiring a high degree of control over Spiritual Power.
But once mastered, it could stably produce the White Mist Forest potion with Automatic Meditation effects.
This is also a drawback of the plan as it only works on the White Mist Forest.
For other meditation-assisting magic potions, even with similar formulas, this technique cannot grant Automatic Meditation characteristics.
It’s not that Duke doesn’t want to, but the formula structure of the White Mist Forest is inherently compatible with this guidance technique; other potions do not possess this structure.
Duke leaned back in his chair, looking at the ceiling, thinking about how the raw material prices for the White Mist Forest would likely increase significantly once this plan is released.
Those far-sighted commerce associations would start stockpiling as soon as they got the news.
He could also seize the opportunity to stockpile, but that would require a lot of time and effort.
For Duke, time is the most precious commodity; spending too much of it just to make money would not be worth it.
He has already mastered the core knowledge at its source and has gotten the biggest share of the bounty. Let others enjoy the leftovers.
Duke is confident that the reason this plan would sell is due to the appeal of the Automatic Meditation characteristic itself.
Different meditation techniques have their respective compatible meditation-assisting magic potions.
Some potions are more compatible with Fire Element meditation techniques, others with Water Element; choosing the most suitable potion could enhance meditation efficiency by thirty to fifty percent.
This is common knowledge that every wizard knows.
But in the presence of Automatic Meditation, this common knowledge might be overturned.
No matter how high the efficiency, manual meditation is still required.
But Automatic Meditation meditates for you as you do anything else.
During battle, traveling, eating, sleeping — at every moment, Spiritual Power is increasing.
Those tiny, wasted fragments of time are all utilized.
Short-term Automatic Meditation might not surpass a deep meditation session, but over a prolonged period, it’s different.
More importantly, Automatic Meditation saves wizards time to do other things.
Duke believes that the vast majority of wizards would make the same choice.
Even if the White Mist Forest isn’t the most compatible potion for their meditation techniques, even if the efficiency would be somewhat reduced, the long-term benefits brought by Automatic Meditation would more than make up for the loss.
This means once the plan hits the market, the entire Level 1 meditation-assisting magic potion market would be reshaped.
Those commerce associations that center around other meditation potions would either have to transform or be eliminated.
And as the one holding the core technology, he would become the center of this transformation.
Duke rubbed his forehead.
The impact of this thing would probably be much greater than he anticipated.
He stood up and paced the room.
Risk and reward are always proportional.
This plan could bring him tremendous wealth and also tremendous risk.
Duke stopped and looked out of the window.
The glow of Sky City was changing from a warm golden to a silvery blue, as night deepened.
He knew that risk and opportunity always coexist, and while attracting risk, he would also demonstrate sufficient value.
Duke is confident in completing his remaining two years of study; by then he could become a member of the Six-Ring Tower, and he’d not have to fear too many potential dangers.
Currently residing in the Central Islands, he doesn’t have to worry about anyone doing anything to him.
Unless he failed his studies here due to some accident and got eliminated, then potential storms might arise, and even the Black Sail might not withstand such storms.
Duke walked back to the desk and sat down again.
He picked up the quill and began organizing his thesis. Abstract, principles, experimental data, operational steps, and conclusion — each part was written rigorously and solidly, leaving no loophole for questioning.
He knew that once the paper was submitted, it would be scrutinized and picked apart by countless people.
He couldn’t afford any oversight.
The quill glided over the parchment, leaving neat handwriting.
In the study, only the light and the sound of the pen kept this young man company, who hadn’t rested even late into the night.
...
The next morning.
Duke walked along the corridor bridge toward the direction of the First District of the Central Islands, the headquarters of the Arcane Master Association was inside the Six-Ring Tower.
The Wizard Council has set the headquarters of the Arcane Master Association in the Six-Ring Tower, alongside the Book of Truth.
The Book of Truth, as Albert’s world-class treasure, naturally resides here at the Six-Ring Tower.
Only an interface for wizards across the Wizard Plane is publicly available; the real Book of Truth is hidden in the depths of that enormous Wizard Tower.
Duke passed through seven Light Gates to reach the base of the Six-Ring Tower.
The towering silvery-blue tower shone with a cold luster in the morning light, and the golden golem guards at the tower gate sensed his Six-Ring Badge on his chest, and stepped aside slightly.
He found the first-floor entrance to the Arcane Master Association and walked down a short corridor to a side hall.
The side hall was not large, roughly thirty to forty square meters, simply furnished with just a counter and a few chairs.
A young witch in a gray magic robe was sitting behind the counter, flipping through a thick book.
When she looked up and saw Duke, her gaze swept over his badge and she nodded slightly.
"Submitting a result?"
Duke nodded.
The witch retrieved a parchment form from under the counter and pushed it to him: "Name, affiliation, result name, result summary. After filling them out, seal the result in the crystal and submit it to me."
Duke took the form and quickly filled it out.
Name, affiliation, result name: Complete Implementation Plan for White Mist Forest Potion’s Automatic Meditation Characteristic.
He pondered a bit over the result summary and wrote succinctly yet weightily: "This result provides a complete, reproducible technical plan to grant the White Mist Forest Potion the Automatic Meditation characteristic after refining. Users can automatically enter a meditation state during the potion’s effect without actively running meditation techniques or consuming Spiritual Power for guidance."
After finishing the form, he pushed the parchment and the crystal containing the sealed thesis to the witch.
The witch accepted it and placed the crystal on a palm-sized alchemy board on the counter.
The alchemy board lit up with a faint blue light, scanning the crystal to confirm that the seal was intact and unaltered.
"Review time is based on the content," the witch said while putting away the crystal and stamped the form before handing Duke a receipt, "If approved, the points will be credited to your Arcane Master account directly. If not approved, there will be revision suggestions, and you can resubmit."
Duke took the receipt, glanced at the number on it, and stored it in his Space Ring.
"Thank you."
He turned and left the side hall, walked back down the short corridor, and out of the Six-Ring Tower.
The morning light was warm and bright upon him.
He stood before the tower gate, took a deep breath, and then stepped toward the Seventh District.
The paper was submitted; now it was just a matter of waiting.
He didn’t know how many points this thesis would earn, but he knew it would be his most important submission to the Arcane Master Association so far.
Duke quickened his steps towards the dormitory area.
Through the boundary Light Gate of the Seventh District, onto the familiar path leading to the dormitory area, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Two people stood ahead.
Audric and Andre.
Audric had changed into a dark gold robe, with blood-red rose emblems embroidered on the collar and cuffs, his golden hair glinting brilliantly in the morning light.
His complexion looked much better than during the assessment, and the wound on his neck that Duke had cut had entirely healed, leaving not even a scar behind.
The recovery power of the Golden Dragon bloodline is indeed astonishing.
