Chapter 242: Chapter 193: Miracle of Life

’This "online loan"... can I exploit it?’

This was Isaac’s first thought after reading the Magic Book.

At first glance, it seemed impossible. After all, while it greatly resembled an "online loan," it wasn’t one. There was a fundamental difference: the authority of the Book of Privileges came from the God of Credit—the "official" source itself.

But when Isaac thought about it more carefully, he realized it might not be impossible after all.

The very essence of the Book of Privileges was to further steal the Authority of the God of Credit!

It just so happened that compensation would be provided afterward. Besides, the one doing it was the Truth Association, currently the largest Wizard Organization in the Real World, and they were far more powerful than the God.

That was why this sort of thing had been tacitly allowed.

’In that case...’

’If the Truth Association can do it, why can’t I, Isaac?’

The more he thought about it, the more plausible the idea seemed!

As a Mad Witch, Isaac had always been intensely curious about the Authority and Knowledge possessed by various Deities. He had only suppressed this curiosity before because the God of Credit was a True God.

’But now...’

’The Truth Association did it first!’

Of course, even if he were to go through with it, he would have to plan it meticulously. The Truth Association was the Truth Association, and he was just him. Just because they could do it didn’t mean he could.

’It would be best to find some collaborators!’

The Mad Witch Association’s annual gathering was coming up. Perhaps he could find some like-minded partners there?

Of course, besides the lunatics of the Mad Witch Association, Isaac could also co-apply for a research project with a few High-level Mages from the Flesh Sect. If the Truth Association could do it, then as a fellow Wizard Organization, the Flesh Sect could too!

This would also benefit all the High-level Mages in the Flesh Sect. After all, High-level Mages didn’t just throw Authority Magic around wantonly; most of them relied mainly on Privilege Magic in combat.

Conveniently, he had a Dimension Fruit which he could use to contact some High-level Mages.

’But all of that...’

’...would have to wait.’

He had something more important to do right now—transplanting the Demon Eye.

He had obtained the Kaleidoscope Demon Eye, and it was time to transplant it. Only then could he continue to raise his stalled Wizard Level. But before the transplant, he needed some practice.

After all, this modification surgery was different from others. It was a transplant to the center of his forehead—a critical location. If anything went wrong, it would be too late for regrets.

After navigating a few turns in his laboratory, Isaac arrived at a surgical bed. A sleeping goblin lay upon it. Beside it was a pile of Magic Potions and an eyeball soaking in a green solution.

Normally, humans would be the best for practice, but the slaves he’d purchased hadn’t arrived yet. He would make do with goblins for now. Their physical structure wasn’t that different from a human’s, anyway.

Cracking his knuckles, Isaac put on his gloves while reviewing the transplant procedure he had acquired from the Sect. A moment later, he decisively made the first cut!

First, he sliced through the layers of skin and flesh on the goblin’s forehead until the skull was exposed. Then, he carefully cut out a piece of the brow bone.

Then...

Isaac knew he’d messed up.

’Cut too much. Failure...’

As Isaac made his mistake, the sleeping goblin’s body twitched once before quickly losing all signs of life.

At this, Isaac’s brow furrowed slightly. He quickly reviewed his process in his mind, then turned and walked to the next surgical bed, where another unconscious goblin lay. As for the previous one...

Liu Li, who had been waiting at the side, naturally took care of it. It was still a bit of Flesh Essence, after all. And though they weren’t short on money, for a mistress of the house, thrifty housekeeping was a fundamental requirement!

She wasn’t the mistress yet, but Liu Li was working hard toward that goal!

Meanwhile, Isaac didn’t pause for long. He quickly began the new surgery, and just like the last one, he refrained from using his Golden Finger to increase the success rate.

He wanted to hone his skills to proficiency first before using his Golden Finger to boost the success rate. This way, not only would his own skills improve considerably, but the cost would also be slightly lower.

Of course, more importantly, doing things this way would make it easier for Isaac to recreate the techniques developed with his Golden Finger’s help, but without its assistance.

And so, Isaac once again immersed himself in his experiments. A continuous stream of living goblins was sent into the Mage Tower, never to emerge again.

While Isaac was engrossed in his experiments, on the other side of things, Smith and Lorna also became busy.

Yes, Lorna also became busy.

Originally, Smith was responsible for most of the territory’s affairs. But after returning this time, Lorna tried her hand at a few Magic experiments before decisively giving up.

The path of Magic research, after all, was not for her.

But perhaps out of guilt, since Isaac had prepared so much for her, she started following Smith to learn how to manage the territory, trying to make herself at least a little useful.

There wasn’t much to do in the territory to begin with. Isaac’s domain wasn’t a normal one; it had no subjects, and thus no taxes or army. Most of the work was focused on the breeding and selling of Dragon Lizards.

Even then, Liu Li was the one mainly managing the breeding, and sales were almost always handled directly with Solomon. There were many things that Smith and Lorna didn’t even need to worry about. The most they could do was check the ledgers.

So, what were they busy with?
