Chapter 211: Chapter 166: Privilege Magic (Part 2)

"...Alright," the brawny man said, nodding grudgingly. He then perked up and added, "I have another plan! We’ll charge in, destroy the ritual, and then leave!"

The other two: "..."

Isaac, Angel, and Lorna: "..."

"Would it be super embarrassing if we lost to them?" From her position above the cavern, Lorna, who had overheard the trio’s entire conversation, asked Isaac with a look of utter disbelief.

"...In any case, I don’t plan on losing," Isaac said, shaking his head. He snapped his fingers softly. A massive fireball materialized and plunged downward. "Come, let’s greet our guests who’ve come from so far away!"

BOOM!

A pillar of fire erupted skyward with the sound of the explosion. The trio stared at the epicenter with grim expressions.

No one who dared to join this "feast" in Itra was an ordinary character, let alone someone who would dare to strike first. That’s why a fireball of that magnitude was merely a greeting.

Sure enough, as the thick smoke dissipated, a flash of golden light met the eyes of Isaac and the others.

A golden shield enveloped the trio, leaving them completely unscathed.

Noticing their attire and the fluctuations of their power, Isaac raised an eyebrow in surprise. "People from the Teaching Country? Why would you be here?"

The Teaching Country wasn’t a specific nation but a collective term for countries that used religion to maintain their rule. However, under normal circumstances, these nations could be considered a single entity.

That’s right. Although these religious nations had different faiths, on a national level, they weren’t as severely exclusive as their beliefs. They even shared an institution for cultivating their military might—the Holy Hall!

The Holy Hall was where most Teaching Countries trained their armies and Transcendents. There, as long as you didn’t proselytize or interfere with others’ faith, you could do whatever you wanted—a place Isaac found quite unbelievable.

The Transcendents trained by the Holy Hall were divided into three types. The first was the Temple Knight, who worshiped a Deity and drew power from them. Much like the Holy Knights Isaac knew from his past life, they were hybrids of martial and magical arts—able to deal damage, heal, and tank. Aside from the fact that their power wasn’t their own and had an absolute upper limit, they could be described as nearly perfect.

The second was the Temple Mage. They also worshiped a Deity to obtain power, but unlike Temple Knights, they primarily acquired Magic, focusing on ultimate destructive power. They were a type of Caster not recognized as such by Wizards.

The third was the Temple Priest. Like Temple Mages, they also obtained magical power, but the difference was that they only acquired support and Defense Magic, pushing their support capabilities to the absolute limit!

Honestly, Isaac had once suspected that some transmigrator predecessor had come up with this system. The first two types were pretty normal, but the third, the Temple Priest, was truly out there. ’The Real World isn’t a game, so how could anyone choose a path of pure support?’

’If they get caught alone, aren’t they finished?’

But Temple Priests really were like that, and there were a lot of them!

Warrior, Mage, and Priest—the classic party composition from games—was also the standard configuration for members of the Teaching Country when they traveled, and their combat effectiveness was formidable.

"Naturally, we are here to stop your evil plot! We will not let you destroy this country!" the brawny man in the lead declared, drawing the greatsword from his back with a solemn expression.

His companion beside him quickly drew his magic staff, ready for battle. At the same time, streams of golden light floated from the blue-haired woman next to them toward the two men.

"Oh? So in your eyes, this place is still considered a country?" Isaac asked, sounding curious.

He wasn’t being sarcastic; he was genuinely perplexed.

Gods existed in this world. Therefore, while you couldn’t say that everyone in the True God Churches was good, the vast majority were—or at least, they were ’good’ as defined by their doctrines.

And according to the doctrines of most True Gods, Itra was the absolute deepest pit of Hell. Therefore, the Teaching Country’s response should have been one of two extremes: either mobilize in full force or pretend it didn’t exist.

They wouldn’t just send a few Little Underlings like this. If these three brought news of this place back, the Teaching Country would be one hundred percent obligated to dispatch an army; otherwise, it would severely damage the people’s Faith!

’Surely they didn’t just see a recruitment slogan for the Rebel Army, get all hot-headed, and come running, right?’

"We are here to save this country! Mad Witch, enough talk. Now, die!" the brawny man roared. Stomping a foot on the ground, he shot toward Isaac!

BOOM!

"Your opponent is me!" A Half-Dragon Transformed Lorna intercepted the brawny man mid-charge, her longsword wreathed in Dragon Flame. Her golden, vertical pupils were filled with a cold light, with none of her usual dopey demeanor in sight.

"Dragon Witch... you alone can’t stop me!" The brawny man put force into both hands, his greatsword knocking aside the Dragon Flame Sword as he aimed a fierce kick at Lorna’s abdomen.

THUD!

However, Lorna wasn’t sent flying as he had expected. Her entire body was now covered in Dragon Scales—and they were the scales of a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon, granting her ridiculously high defense!

Thus, not only did the brawny man’s attack fail to give him an advantage, but it also exposed a massive opening. Though Lorna didn’t have much combat experience, she didn’t let this opportunity slip. She opened her delicate mouth, revealing it to be full of serrated teeth.

"ROAR!!!"

A torrent of scorching Dragon Flame engulfed the brawny man, blasting him away!

"How astonishing~ To think you can use such a High-Level Dragon Transformation Magic, despite being merely a Tier One Witch." Not far away, the brawny man climbed out of the molten rock. The searing liquid slid down his armor, not harming him in the slightest. "As expected of the Mad Witch’s lackey."

Lorna curled her lip but said nothing. Wreathed in Dragon Flame, she charged at the brawny man once more!

This was the first time she had ever used this level of power. Lacking combat experience, she needed to end this fight quickly. She absolutely could not let her enemy figure out her fighting style.

’Otherwise, all that Dragon Blood and those Dragon Scales would go to waste.’

The strength of Lorna’s Dragon Transformation was related to the materials used for the Casting; the better the materials, the more powerful the transformation. In the past, she had been too poor to afford the blood and scales of a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon. She couldn’t even afford materials from a Dragon Blood Demon...

Otherwise, she never would have been captured by that slave trader back then...

On the other side, as the brawny man made his move, the blond youth was just as quick. With a wave of his magic staff, countless golden rays shot toward Isaac and Angel. Simultaneously, behind the barrage of light, a massive golden Magic Array was slowly taking shape.

"Whoa~ Now that’s something else!" Ignoring the golden rays of light streaking past him, Isaac stared, somewhat awestruck, at the Magic Array behind the blond youth.

He recognized that thing. It was Privilege Magic, a lower form of Authority Magic, and one of the few things that could be used to fight above one’s own tier after reaching Tier Two.

Although all High-level Mages possessed Authority, not all of them could develop Authority Magic. Therefore, many High-level Mages still primarily used Ordinary Magic and Privilege Magic.

The types of abilities granted by Privilege Magic were vast and varied, but no matter the type, they were all extremely powerful.

For instance, the one the blond youth was now casting should be the Holy Hall’s Privilege Magic: Holy Judgment. Within a certain range, any living being who did not have Faith in the corresponding Deity would suffer indiscriminate attacks!

It ignored any defense that didn’t involve Authority!

Unless you immediately converted your faith to that specific Deity.

However, this was a Magic typically used against heretics; it wasn’t very effective against a normal Caster. That’s because there was a type of Magic called a Faith Steel Seal. Just cast one on yourself, and you would gain Immunity to this Magic. Besides, the effects of a Faith Steel Seal were easy to dispel.

But for Isaac...

Amidst the endless golden rays, Isaac glanced back at the castle, a thoughtful look on his face. ’So that’s their real goal.’

The blond youth, who had been watching Isaac’s every move, felt his heart sink. ’This is bad...’
