Chapter 200: Chapter 158: The Rotten Itra Kingdom

The barracks produced soldiers at a rapid pace, but with forty thousand troops to requisition, it still took a full day to assemble the entire army.

’Producing at least forty thousand soldiers in a single day...’

"Tsk tsk." Isaac gazed at the spectacular army before him and shook his head in amazement. ’To possess such a priceless treasure and still run the kingdom into this sorry state... truly... that takes a special kind of talent!’

By the time the soldiers were mustered, it was already midnight. A bright moon hung high in the sky, its light scattering across their Iron Armor and glinting with countless points of cold, terrifying light.

"Can you command them?" Isaac asked Smith, glancing at the expressionless army.

He had seemed confident in Smith before, but seeing such a massive army in person, he couldn’t help but feel a flicker of concern. After all, Smith had been away from the military for many years. Even back when he was serving, he’d never commanded an army of tens of thousands—he’d never even been part of one that large.

’When it comes to armies, it’s never been a case of ’the more, the better’,’ Isaac thought. ’In my past life, among all the generals throughout history, only the Military Immortal Han Xin would dare to make such a claim.’

Fortunately, these Artificial Humans weren’t conventional soldiers. They possessed no independent thoughts. While still difficult to command, it was within the scope of Smith’s abilities.

Smith nodded and began issuing a series of military orders, commanding the army to set out for Roton Fortress.

That was to be their defensive position—or rather, their point of attack.

Although this battlefield was a grand stage for a blood sacrifice, it still maintained a semblance of the rules of war, at least on the surface.

Isaac and his companions, however, didn’t need to travel with the army. They could proceed to Roton Fortress ahead of them or head over to the Rebel Army’s territory to act as they pleased.

Isaac and his group chose to head for Roton Fortress.

It couldn’t be helped. The sacrificial ritual still had some issues that needed to be resolved, and Isaac needed a quiet place to study for a few days. Angel and Philo would stand guard to ensure he wasn’t disturbed.

’Though Isaac felt it was hardly necessary.’

Isaac glanced at the determined faces of Angel and Philo. His eyes narrowed slightly, but he said nothing. He summoned the pumpkin carriage and took the three women on ahead to Roton Fortress.

As for his second brother, Remington, he would accompany Smith, assisting him in managing the army while also keeping an eye out for any Transcendents from the Rebel Army.

Inside the pumpkin carriage, Lorna glanced at Philo and Angel, blinked, then leaned in to whisper quietly in Isaac’s ear. She wanted to go outside; the atmosphere in here was terrifying!

She felt like Philo and Angel were about to start fighting at any second!

Hearing this, Isaac looked up from the Magic Book he was studying. His gaze fell upon the two women, and the confrontational atmosphere between them instantly vanished. He then lifted the pumpkin carriage’s curtain, letting Lorna peek outside.

"Huh? What the— Wow! We’re actually flying! This pumpkin carriage can fly? It’s that amazing?" Following Isaac’s gesture, Lorna poked her head out with a look of confusion that quickly turned to utter shock.

The pumpkin carriage was soaring through the night sky. Below them lay a silent wasteland, with rolling mountains in the distance. The two large, brown-headed horses pulling the carriage had also transformed; their bodies were now translucent and crystalline, glittering under the starlight. As they flew, they left a trail of sparkling dust in their wake.

Hearing Lorna’s cry, Angel and Philo exchanged a glance. One lifted a curtain while the other opened the door, and they too were stunned by the sight.

’Normally, a Legendary Mage’s Legend Magic progresses faster when blessed by the Power of Faith, but isn’t this a little *too* fast?’

’Or has the story of *Cinderella* just spread that quickly?’

’Magic research capabilities on par with an Arcanist, the audacity and means to brazenly seize Outer God Power, and even such outstanding creative talent...’

’Wow... this guy...’

’He’s definitely hacking!’

’Isn’t anyone going to stop him?’

Unlike the Little White Witch Lorna, who was simply stunned, Philo and Angel were more familiar with Isaac. They understood far better what this rate of progress signified!

’This man... as long as he doesn’t die, he will become a Demigod!’

Philo and Angel watched Isaac with complicated expressions. This was the second time—the second time these self-proclaimed geniuses had felt a sense of utter defeat from this man.

This was especially true for Angel. When they had first parted ways, she had been wary of Isaac, but in her heart, she hadn’t believed she would end up much weaker than him. After all, her Original Scripture was the rarest of the rare. Her talents had simply been constrained by Philo, with no opportunity to be displayed.

’But now she realized, compared to Isaac... was an Original Scripture really all that incredible?’

"Wow, it’s so beautiful! Can you teach me?" In contrast to the other two and their complex thoughts, Lorna, who was still oohing and aahing at the view outside the window, was far more straightforward.

After watching for a little longer, she pulled her head back inside and looked at Isaac with an expectant expression.

"Umm..." Isaac pulled his attention away from his Magic Book. He pondered for a moment before shaking his head. "Transformation Magic is the Legend I possess. It’s a power only a Legendary Mage can wield. You probably wouldn’t be able to learn my version."

"Oh..." Disappointment was plain to see on Lorna’s face.

"However..." Isaac’s tone shifted. "Aein also knows Transformation Magic. It might be able to teach you."

"Aein?" Lorna blinked.

"Yes, it’s a Fairy Elf. Transformation Magic is something of an exclusive magic for their kind... I think?"

"You think?"

"I’m not entirely sure. Since I can use Transformation Magic myself, I’ve never looked into it that deeply. If you want to learn, you can ask it when we get back. It’s worth a try, at least."

"Okay." Lorna nodded, her bubbling enthusiasm deflating slightly. She stuck her head back out the window to admire the night scenery.

Isaac, meanwhile, returned his focus to the Magic Book in his hands. He already had some ideas on how to anchor the sacrifices; all that remained was to experiment.

The pumpkin carriage was quite fast now. A journey that would normally take a full day was completed in less than half an hour of flight.

Of course, it was still a far cry from actual Space Teleportation.

However, with the official allocation of the "slots," a massive Barrier had enveloped the entire Itra Kingdom. Short-distance teleportation was still possible, but long-range spatial travel had been banned.

This was a major disadvantage for Isaac, who could only perform the latter, but every cloud has a silver lining. While the Barrier banned his long-range travel, it also offered a slight convenience for his sacrificial ritual.

’Assuming the experiment is a success, that is.’

Upon arriving at Roton Fortress, Isaac was surprised to find that, unlike at the barracks, they weren’t asked to present a Token. The fortress guards performed no identity verification whatsoever and simply waved them through.

’So... lax?’

Isaac and his companions exchanged a look, each seeing the same disbelief in the others’ eyes. ’What the hell? This is wartime! This is the front line!’
