Chapter 246: Chapter 233: Enemies Meet (2)
"The Silver Ring, the Tide Association, and the Storm Hall—the three of them jointly maintain order in Longgu Port."
Herman walked to Ian’s side, his gray eyes sweeping over the port.
"At least within the port, no one dares to make a move openly."
He paused before adding, "Outside the port, however, is a different story."
The Shadow Moon slowly approached an empty pier.
Beside the pier, several Tide Association guards in deep blue scale armor nodded at them.
They had gill-like structures behind their ears, and their movements possessed the unique fluidity of the Aquatic Race.
As soon as the ship docked, Herman turned to the crowd on deck.
Six Level One Liquidation Wizards had already organized their gear and were standing in different spots on the deck, each at least ten meters apart from the others.
A typical Wizard’s distance.
Herman’s voice wasn’t loud, but it reached everyone’s ears clearly.
"We’ll assemble at dawn in three days at the Shadow Moon Teleportation Array in the center of the port."
He scanned the group, his gray eyes devoid of any emotional fluctuation.
"Remember, this is the Broken Islands, not Shadow Moon Tower. Don’t go looking for trouble, but don’t be afraid of it either."
With that said, he was the first to walk down the pier. His deep blue long robe fluttered slightly in the sea breeze, and he soon disappeared into the port’s crowd.
The seven Liquidation Wizards glanced at one another but exchanged no words, each choosing a direction and departing.
Ian was the last to disembark.
On his shoulder, Gaga huddled with its neck drawn in, its small eyes warily scanning the surroundings.
"Ian, there are... so many powerful people here, gaa."
"Mm."
Ian could clearly sense at least five powerful auras within the port.
Auras belonging to Level Two Crystalized Wizards.
The number of Level One Liquidation Wizards... probably exceeded fifty.
And this was just Longgu Port.
Throughout the Broken Islands, there were several other gathering points like Longgu Port, not to mention the factions camped directly on the outskirts of the sea...
’The number of Wizards gathered for the opening of these ruins will probably exceed five hundred.’
’First, I need to find a place to stay.’
Ian walked along the pier toward the inner part of the port.
The interior of the port was even more bustling than he had imagined, with buildings of various styles lining both sides of the street.
There were Aquatic Race-style shops built from coral and shells, Alchemy Workshops forged from metal and crystal stones, and Magic Pharmacies with herbs and vials hanging outside.
There were even a few bizarre structures built from living flesh and blood, emanating an Abyssal Aura.
The pedestrians were even more varied.
Besides the most common human Wizards, Ian also saw many other Alien Races.
Members of the Tide Association’s Sea Race had skin of pale blue or dark green, gills behind their ears, and webbed fingers and toes.
A few Elves in long robes woven from leaves, their ears long and pointed, radiated a rich aura of nature.
A group of Abyssal Mixed Bloods, their bodies covered in dark red scales and short horns sprouting from their foreheads, walked past, clustered around a bald, burly man who stood over two meters tall.
’Deep Red Royal Court.’
Ian’s steps faltered slightly.
The bald man had a scar that ran from his brow bone to the corner of his mouth, like a centipede clinging to his face.
He was saying something to his companions when he suddenly seemed to sense something, his blood-red eyes snapping over.
Their gazes clashed in mid-air.
Bazaar’s eyes were filled with undisguised killing intent. His lips moved silently, forming two words.
"You’re dead."
Ian’s expression remained impassive as he continued walking forward, as if he hadn’t seen a thing.
Gaga’s feathers ruffled slightly, and it spoke through their Soul Link.
"Ian, that man..."
"Blood Blade Bazaar, a Level Two Crystalized Wizard from the Deep Red Royal Court."
Ian’s tone was calm. "I killed a lot of their grunts back at the Sleeping Underground Palace."
"Will he make a move now?"
"No." Ian shook his head.
"This is Longgu Port. The three factions jointly maintain order. A Level Two Wizard making a move here is equivalent to provoking all three, especially the Silver Ring."
But he knew Bazaar wouldn’t let it go.
Once they were out of the port and inside the ruins, it would be a matter of life and death.
After walking a few hundred more meters, Ian saw another group of people on a street corner.
They were all clad in uniform gray-black long robes that shrouded their entire bodies, their faces hidden in the shadows of their hoods.
For the one in the lead, two points of eerie green flame burned quietly beneath his hood.
’The Withered Council. Silas the Dead Speaker.’
In the Underground Palace, Ian had killed Theodore and the entire Curse of the Dead Squad.
The ghostly fire in Silas’s hood turned in Ian’s direction, lingering for about three seconds before slowly moving away.
But the killing intent—cold enough to freeze the soul—had been clearly conveyed.
"Two Level Two Crystalized Wizards..." Gaga muttered softly.
"Ian, we seem to have... provoked a lot of people this time, gaa."
"It’s not ’seem to’," Ian corrected. "We have definitely provoked a lot of people."
But so what?
His will had long been forged to be resilient; mere killing intent was like a gentle breeze on his face.
He continued walking, his gaze sweeping over the shops on both sides of the street until he settled on an inn that looked relatively clean.
The inn was built of some kind of pale yellow wood. It was three stories high, and a sign carved with the words "House of Serenity" hung by the door.
The proprietor was an Elder Wizard with graying hair, dressed in a simple long robe. He sat behind the counter, leafing through a thick ledger.
"Looking for a room?" The Elder Wizard looked up, pushing the monocle on the bridge of his nose.
"For three days." Ian handed over several High Level Magic Stones. The prices on the outer seas were exorbitant.
The Elder Wizard accepted the Magic Stones and took out a Copper Key from under the counter.
"Innermost room on the third floor. It’s quiet, and the view is good."
Ian took the key and walked toward the stairs.
He had just reached the second floor when his steps suddenly halted.
A door at the end of the hallway opened, and a young Witch in a silver-white long robe with gold trim walked out.
