Chapter 245: Chapter 126: Saving Up Another 1000...
TAP, TAP TAP.
On a quiet, rainy night in the southern part of the Ruer District, fingers tapped against a door.
"Yes?"
"Shetland, Shadow of the Ghosts, Red Rose."
The person inside was silent for a long moment. "Caster, Shadow of the Ghosts, Dark Dragon."
The person outside lowered the brim of their hat, their full, red lips parting slightly. "Open the door."
CREAK.
The door opened to reveal a petite figure. The flickering candlelight from inside the house illuminated the glasses on her face. "You shouldn’t have come to Caster at this time."
Outside, Red Rose held a lantern in her hand and stepped inside. "Has something happened?"
"A lot has happened in the city-state these past few days..."
"For instance?" Red Rose pulled down her hood, revealing a deep cleavage. Her bright eyes held a hint of indifference.
Dark Dragon shook her head. "I haven’t uncovered the specific intelligence yet, but from the current situation, it seems people from the Abyssal Sect are here."
"A sacrificial ritual?"
"Most likely. Also, a monster from the Deep Sea appeared at the edge of the city-state a few days ago. It’s a very ominous sign."
"A monster from the Deep Sea?" Red Rose frowned slightly. "Do you know whose it is?"
"I’m not sure. I didn’t dare to look at it."
Thick glasses obscured most of Dark Dragon’s face. Coupled with her slightly curly, long hair, she appeared somewhat dazed.
"My lady, your purpose in coming this time is...?"
"To handle some matters. Hmm, you should know the Intelligence Officer’s location, right?"
"The Intelligence Officer? You mean that Wizard Apprentice who’s been placed out in the open?"
"That’s him."
A slight smile touched Red Rose’s lips. "He has indeed become a Wizard Apprentice. An Advanced one, in fact."
"Advanced? I saw him just over a month ago, and he hadn’t even learned a Meditation Technique back then. Are you sure you’re not mistaken?"
Dark Dragon looked at her with suspicion. ’To advance from an ordinary person to an Advanced Apprentice in a month... why would someone with such talent come to Caster to be a low-level Intelligence Officer?’
"That’s something I’d very much like to know as well..."
...
...
Wei’en sat in his workshop. Only after sensing Clelia lie down to rest did he withdraw his Spiritual Power.
He gazed at the low-grade Anomaly Suppression Potion he had just created on the table and fell into thought.
He recalled Flanta and the others mentioning that the Alchemists of the Blood Spirit School had a success rate of only twenty-five percent.
Only one out of four bottles would be a success, and it wasn’t even guaranteed to be perfect-grade.
’In other words, most Alchemists who create Anomaly Suppression Potions are losing money?’
Wei’en pondered for a moment before making a decision.
To avoid drawing too much attention, he planned to only take out ten potions, claiming that he had only a fifty percent success rate with twenty sets of materials.
Among these ten bottles, there would be four perfect-grade, two fine-grade, two excellent-grade, and two low-grade.
After setting aside the two perfect-grade potions promised to Flanta and his group, he could still earn 360 gold pounds from the remaining eight Magic Potions. Plus, he still had the ten leftover sets of materials for the Anomaly Suppression Potion...
’That’s not a small amount.’
gold pounds was just the theoretical maximum profit. If he really went to trade 19 perfect-grade Anomaly Suppression Potions directly, he was afraid the entire Blood Spirit School would be after him.
’Better to play it safe.’
Although he regretted losing out on so much money, looking at it from another angle, having a fifty percent success rate for creating Anomaly Suppression Potions was already far more incredible than other Alchemists.
Based on the 400 gold pound cost for 20 sets of materials, the ten Magic Potions he was selling were worth 560 gold pounds—not only did he not lose money, he even made an extra 160 gold pounds.
Thinking of this, Wei’en took out 9 sets of materials for Anomaly Suppression Potions.
Next, he used the blue-and-white box to exchange for materials to make Enlightenment Potions and Healing Potions from the ghost, as well as metal for making bullets.
’My gold pounds are all gone again...’
Wei’en sighed. His consumption of Enlightenment Potions had been significant lately, especially during the fight with those Abyssal Creatures.
The same went for bullets. To unleash the power of his sniper rifle, he couldn’t be without ammunition.
To avoid finding himself in such an awkward situation, he had no choice but to spend more gold pounds and prepare as thoroughly as possible.
The cost to produce one bottle of Enlightenment Potion was 15 shillings, while the cost to make a single bullet was 3 shillings...
His 300-odd gold pounds seemed like a lot, but it was only enough for 400 bottles of Enlightenment Potion or 2,000 bullets.
And that wasn’t even counting labor costs.
Wei’en looked at the pile of raw materials on the floor. It would be too time-consuming for one person to handle all of this. Left with no other choice, he had to cut into Zero-Type’s study time.
In no time, the entire workshop was bustling with activity.
On one side, Wei’en was engrossed in making Anomaly Suppression Potions, Enlightenment Potions, and Healing Potions. On the other, Miss Zombie was leading Zero-Type, using a drill press to make bullets.
It was only after seeing Shawa and the others making bullets with his own eyes that he truly understood how wonderful free labor was.
Even if he made them himself, a single bullet would take him a full minute, whereas Zero-Type had already reduced the time to 30 seconds.
They had even taught themselves an assembly line process. Shawa handled the rough processing, while Zero-Type was responsible for the final finishing touches. At their fastest, they could produce one bullet every 20 seconds.
’At this speed—if I could just open a factory, I could lie back and count my money.’
At 9:10, he finished producing ten Anomaly Suppression Potions. He sent them via Nightmare Worm to the two Wizards from the Blood Spirit School to complete the contract, receiving 360 gold pounds and a thank-you letter.
At 11:30, he completed the production of 100 Enlightenment Potions and 100 Healing Potions. He kept seventy percent for his own use and prepared the rest to be traded to Flanta.
And long before Wei’en had finished making these Magic Potions, Zero-Type and the others had already produced 1,000 bullets and were standing by, watching and learning how to make potions.
