Chapter 243: Chapter 125: I’ll Never Cooperate With You Again

Clelia’s face was deathly pale and she was covered in blood. There was a gaping, fist-sized hole in her chest, and she gripped Wei’en’s hand tightly, trying to say something.

"Quick... quick..."

"Don’t try to talk!"

Wei’en pulled out two perfect-grade Healing Potions. He poured one into her mouth and the other directly onto the hole in her chest.

Through the bloody, mangled hole, he could see that Clelia’s heart, lungs, liver, and esophagus were all severely injured.

But strangely, the wounds on her internal organs were neat, as if sliced by an extremely sharp blade—not at all like an injury from a fist punching through.

"Ngh..."

"Hang in there!"

Wei’en wasn’t a doctor, nor could he heal people with Dawn Faith Power like Kali. All he could do now was pin his hopes on the Magic Potion.

’What’s this?!’

’There’s a strange power in the wound, stopping the Healing Potion from taking effect?’

Whenever a piece of new flesh grew over a damaged spot, an incredibly sharp power would slice through it, cutting the flesh away.

’It’s as if it’s declaring, ’Healing is forbidden here...’’

"Fuck, who the hell did you run into? What kind of bizarre Extraordinary Power is this?"

Leaning against him in his arms, Clelia gritted her teeth against the excruciating pain. "Black... Black..."

"The Black Pearl?"

"...Ja, Ja..."

"Black Jack? He’s here already? Is he in the Basil District?"

Wei’en remembered the letter from Collins and the others. The sender, a man named Black Jack, had said he would arrive in the Caster City State today.

"Yes... yes..."

"Forget that for now," Wei’en cut her off. "This wound is strange. It’s resisting the power of the Healing Potion. Is there anything we can do?"

Only a minute passed, but Clelia’s face grew even paler, until it was almost completely drained of color.

"There’s... there’s no way..."

"There’s no way?"

"Y-Yes." Clelia’s mouth moved weakly, and she closed her eyes in despair.

Wei’en frowned, his eyes fixed on the strange power in her chest. ’If only I could remove it...’

"Can you tell me what this energy is?"

"Ori- Origin!"

Clelia let out a muffled groan and her body suddenly seized. The sharp power seemed to go berserk, frantically slicing away at her internal organs.

Instantly, tiny pieces of flesh and blood flew out, hurtling toward Wei’en.

’Huh?’

"Nico, Ruke."

Wei’en instantly blinked to the opposite corner. The bits of flesh passed straight through two phantom duplicates, striking the stone wall and leaving a series of small marks.

"AARGH—"

Clelia collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably. Blood gushed from her wound as she clenched her jaw, letting out a series of ragged screams.

’How am I supposed to save her like this?’

Wei’en’s expression was grim. The power was too bizarre and too strong. Not only did it block the Healing Potion, but it could also renew its assault to torture Clelia.

’What kind of Origin could be this powerful?’

’Origin...’

"One last question, is it all concentrated in your chest?"

"Yes, yes—Just give me a quick death!"

"That’s all I need to know!"

’It was a desperate gamble, but it was the only option. I just have to hope the quality of that Origin Power is low enough, otherwise I’m out of ideas!’

Wei’en pointed at the wound on Clelia’s chest. "Adagua!"

He focused his Origin Power, desperately controlling the size of the summoned entity and the target of the Soul-Devouring Magic to avoid devouring Clelia entirely.

The four heads looked back and forth, and finally, the ghost made its move. Oh, wait—it used its mouth.

It took a "small" bite out of the wound on Clelia’s chest, devouring half of her torso below the neck, leaving behind little more than the skin and bone of her back.

[You have used Soul-Devouring Magic to devour a portion of Jack Kim Adros’s Origin Power. Your Origin has been enhanced. Special Reward: Origin +1.]

Sensing something was wrong with her body, Clelia opened her eyes and stared. "You!?"

Apparently, she’d never seen herself so... flat. She took one look, then her eyes rolled back and she passed out.

Wei’en: "..."

’Okay, that was a pretty terrifying sight...’

But seeing the strange power was gone, he quickly pulled out two more Healing Potions and poured them directly into Clelia’s chest cavity.

’Her esophagus was gone anyway, so feeding it to her by mouth would have been pointless.’

Wei’en let out a long sigh of relief as he saw the Magic Potion take immediate effect upon contact with the wounds. Organs, flesh, and bone began to regrow at a rapid pace.

’So, I managed to save her after all.’

Even so, it took nearly an hour for Clelia’s wound to fully heal back to its... former glory. Which, seeing it for the first time, was quite a glorious sight indeed.

Wei’en’s eyes widened. ’Some things look like bells from a distance, and they still look like bells up close.’ Even lying down, their peaks nearly rivaled the bell tower of Krimms Cathedral.

’Especially the two... points...’

"Mmm..."

Hearing Clelia’s stirring, Wei’en quickly turned away... then turned a full 360 degrees. ’Well, I’ve already seen everything,’ he thought. ’What’s the point in looking away now?’

He hunched over slightly, pretending to check the time on the "hanging bells."

’Hmm, the hands are a little small. Can’t quite make out the time.’

Clelia opened her eyes and looked around. Upon seeing Wei’en, a pained expression crossed her face. "Did I... Did I already use the Substitute Gemstone?" she murmured.

"Substitute Gemstone?" Wei’en looked at her in confusion. "What Substitute Gemstone?"

"The necklace I gave you," Clelia sat up, rubbing her forehead and frowning. "But why am I still so weak?"

"The necklace? A Substitute Gemstone?"

Wei’en blinked. ’So the necklace was Clelia’s life-saving item... and she had entrusted something that important to him for safekeeping...’
