Chapter 1223: Chapter 1223: Do You Know Who She Is?
She hadn’t forgotten the moment when Matthew Saxon pointed at her, with a cold and determined attitude, instructing the little nurse to take her out, and the fleeting look of triumph in the nurse’s eyes.
Such a look was more like a challenge.
Challenge?
As this word popped into her mind, Scarlett Yates felt extremely displeased.
She was Matthew Saxon’s wife, and they had gone to the civil affairs bureau to get a marriage certificate. Why did that little nurse have the gall to challenge her?
Now, Matthew Saxon had forgotten her and shockingly kicked out his legitimate wife while keeping a woman whose heart was stirred by him inside.
What was all this about?
The more Scarlett thought about it, the more infuriated she became, feeling that being Young Madam Saxon was truly stifling. Matthew Saxon would rather have an outsider stay with him than let her take care of him.
She stood alone outside the door, like a pitiful creature thrown out.
She was filled with anger but also felt very wronged.
Even if he didn’t remember her, there was no need to treat her so badly, was there?
Yet, the current situation was that Matthew Saxon was extremely repulsed by her and didn’t want to see her at all. Scarlett lingered outside the door for a while but couldn’t think of any good way to persuade him to accept her again.
If this situation only lasted for a day, it would be nothing; but if it really was half a month, was she not going to see him for half a month?
Since she couldn’t think of a way, Scarlett couldn’t be bothered to think anymore.
She decided to be cheeky to the end. No matter how much Matthew Saxon disliked or rejected her, she would shamelessly cling to him.
After all, at this moment, she absolutely couldn’t tolerate him being in the same room with that "ill-intentioned" little nurse.
Scarlett made up her mind, bit her lip, then patted her face to encourage herself, and gently pushed open the door to the room.
Luckily, Matthew Saxon hadn’t had the hospital room door locked from the inside.
As Scarlett walked in, she heard the little nurse’s syrupy voice, which could make one break out in goosebumps, saying, "Mr. Saxon, do you really not know that lady? I thought you two were close."
After the nurse asked, there was a brief silence before Matthew Saxon surprisingly answered, his voice hoarse and deep, his tone indifferent: "I don’t know her. Do you know who she is?"
This truly astonished Scarlett.
He actually responded to that little nurse.
He wasn’t like this before; his temper was so bad that no nurse dared to enter his room.
The nurse spoke in a fakely sweet voice, her tone excessively gentle, like saccharine candy: "I’m not quite sure either, but today Mr. Marshall called her the Young Miss, so her status must not be ordinary."
"Young Miss of the Yates Family?"
"Yeah, I find it strange too. I’ve never heard before that the Yates Family had a Young Miss, but Mr. Marshall was very polite to her."
Another silence followed.
"There’s nothing much here for now. Please leave, I want to rest."
The bedroom door wasn’t closed, and Scarlett stood in the living room, ears perked up, listening intently, able to hear their conversation loud and clear.
Hearing Matthew Saxon ask the nurse to leave, she finally felt a bit of relief.
Thank goodness, he seemed to dislike having that little nurse by his side as well.
If he had kicked her out but allowed the nurse to stay overnight, Scarlett would have been truly depressed to death.
