Chapter 1200: Chapter 1200: You’d Better Leave
"Or are you saying that you never actually saved the Young Master, and you’ve been lying from the start?"
Upon hearing George’s last words, Scarlett’s heart tightened as she nervously looked at the man.
If the man really deceived her, she couldn’t imagine how she would feel.
Probably, she would have the heart to kill him, pushing her from hope to despair again; she would really want to kill him.
"Hmph, if you’re so dissatisfied, you can leave immediately. No one is forcing you to stay. But since you’ve decided to stay, you must listen to my arrangements. You need to understand one thing: right now, it’s you asking me to get things done, not me asking you. With your current attitude, I think I need to take back what I said before. You should just leave."
George’s attitude left the man extremely displeased. He seemed angry, his face darkened as he frowned, and after coldly throwing out these words, he turned and stepped into the house.
"Sir, wait a moment." Having come this far, Scarlett could not possibly leave.
Even if she must endure the man’s displeasure, she has to endure it.
Seeing the man storm off in anger, Scarlett quickly chased after him, apologizing repeatedly: "I’m sorry, sir. It’s our fault; we were too hasty. We won’t do this again; we’ll follow your arrangements."
The man’s footsteps didn’t stop, nor did his expression soften due to her apology. He still wore a cold face, saying coldly, "You are willing to accept my arrangements, but are the people around you willing too? I see that lad seems quite dissatisfied with me."
Scarlett immediately understood his implication.
Her own apologies weren’t enough; he wanted George to apologize too.
George also understood the man’s meaning, though he was unwilling to apologize to someone like this. But there’s nothing to be done, hesitating momentarily, he nonetheless spoke up to apologize: "Sir, I’m sorry. My attitude earlier wasn’t good. Please don’t mind it."
Then the man finally stopped walking.
Turning around, he squinted at the two of them: "You want to stay here? Then you must listen to me. Here, everything must be done according to my rules. I do not want to repeat this a second time."
"Sir, we will follow your rules." Scarlett immediately expressed her stance.
George, though unwilling, followed Scarlett’s lead and expressed his stance, "Yes, Young Madam and I will adhere to your rules."
Maybe seeing the two with a decent attitude, the man seemed satisfied, his tone slightly softened: "My favorite people are those who know how to adapt to the circumstances. Now, someone will take you to your accommodation; just follow them."
As soon as he finished speaking, a maid walked over, saying she had already cleaned the room for them and was here to lead Scarlett and George over.
Scarlett was eager to see Matthew Saxon, but just bringing it up earlier made the man show displeasure. Now she can only temporarily stay, wait until after dinner, and see how he arranges things.
--
After moving her luggage into the room, Scarlett had no mood to unpack and tidy up. She pushed her suitcase to the corner of the wall and called the maid who had brought her over.
"Is there anything else Miss Yates needs?" The maid’s attitude remained courteous, as if she really treated her as a guest here.
"Has someone been rescued from the seaside staying here the past few days?" Because the man refused to take her to see Matthew Saxon, Scarlett attempted to gather some inside information from the maid.
