Chapter 359: Chapter 358: The New and Old Huashan Sect

Whether it was the hikers on the cliff or the five Daoists on a neighboring peak, everyone paled in horror as they watched the person plunge down.

"Xu Yuexin!" a man not far in front of her cried out in alarm.

"AHHH!" The woman let out a bloodcurdling scream as her whole body tumbled down the cliff face. Her arms flailed wildly, trying to grab onto something, but the cliff was completely bare.

The treeline was still far below, and the woman’s descent was accelerating. It looked like she was about to tumble off the precipice and be smashed to pieces.

But just then, a cluster of White Clouds leisurely gathered not far beneath her, coalescing into a solid form just as she landed on it.

And then...

The woman landed on that cluster of clouds!

That cluster of clouds had actually caught the falling woman!

The woman’s screams continued, but the shocked gasps from her four fellow hikers died in their throats.

"AHHHH... AHH... AH... Huh?"

As she screamed, the woman suddenly realized something was wrong. Her body was rigid at first, but then she cautiously tried to move. Bracing herself with her hands, she felt a soft, fluffy texture beneath her. She couldn’t help but look around, finally understanding her situation.

"Huh?" the woman gasped again.

"Holy shit!" Her four companions, unable to contain their shock, also cried out involuntarily.

"What’s going on?"

"A cloud? She was caught by a cloud?"

It wasn’t just the four hikers; the Daoists on the peak opposite Mao Girl Peak were stunned as well. They had a side view, witnessing the White Cloud materialize from nothing, take form, and catch the woman.

The Daoists’ hearts all skipped a beat. The two middle-aged Daoists and the younger one instinctively circulated their Magical Power, while the two elder Daoists reflexively scanned the area.

Then, as both groups watched, the White Cloud began to drift slowly outward.

Swaying and drifting, the White Cloud carried the woman along. Though still terrified, she was now too frightened to scream, her body gone limp. She remained that way until she saw five Daoists appear in the cloud’s path.

The five Daoists: ???

The White Cloud carrying the woman drifted gently over to the peak where the five Daoists stood, landing in front of them. Then, under everyone’s gaze, it slowly dissipated, setting the woman down on the ground.

The woman remained frozen in a seated position, as if she still hadn’t processed what had just happened.

The next moment, White Clouds formed beneath the feet of the four hikers still on the Mao Girl Peak cliff. With a gentle nudge, they were lifted off the rock face and found themselves seated on clouds as well.

But having seen what happened to the woman, the four hikers, though equally terrified, didn’t dare to struggle. They allowed the clouds to carry them diagonally downwards, and they soon arrived next to the five Daoists on the peak below.

"We’re sorry! We’re sorry!"

The man in the lead was the quickest on the uptake. As soon as his cloud dissipated, he immediately bowed a full ninety degrees. "We know the park advised against it, but we couldn’t contain our curiosity! We’re sorry! We’re so sorry!"

"We’ll never do it again!" the man apologized loudly, making a promise.

Once he started, the others quickly caught on and chimed in with their own apologies.

Another young man pulled the woman named Xu Yuexin to her feet, leading her to thank the Daoists for saving her life.

"Thank you, Daoists! I’ll never do it again!" Xu Yuexin had finally come to her senses, though she was still trembling with fear. She pressed her palms together and thanked them profusely.

The five Daoists: "..."

The two elder Daoists scanned the area again but found no one else. Looking at the five people who had been delivered before them by White Clouds, however, they knew what they had to do.

"The newly discovered Divine Statue on Mao Girl Peak is located deep on a cliff face. The path is treacherous and extremely dangerous. Until the park develops the area, it’s best not to venture there on your own," Taoist Xi Ning said first.

"You were lucky today, but you might not be so fortunate next time. You must be more careful. Think of your parents, and don’t trifle with your own lives," Taoist Miao Zhen added.

"Yes, yes, yes!"

"We’ll be careful from now on!"

"This path will take you down to the park trail." Taoist Xi Ning pointed to a small path behind him. Although it was also an unpaved trail, it was much safer than the cliffs of Mao Girl Peak.

"Okay, okay!"

"We’ll head down right now!"

The five hikers nodded repeatedly. Daring neither to say more nor to linger, they quickly headed down the mountain. One of them took a moment to retrieve a drone, tucking it under his arm before following the group.

Only after they were a good distance away from the peak did they finally let their shock burst forth.

"HOOOOLY SHIIIIIT!"

"No wonder they were the ones who found the Divine Statue on Peak Mountain. They probably just saw it by chance while flying around for fun, right?"

"Not necessarily. If they can perform Soaring Clouds and Mist, then leaping over rooftops and scaling walls must be a piece of cake for them."

"Immortals! So Immortals really exist in this world!"

"Everything they say online is true. And here I thought they were all just spouting nonsense."

As the group chattered, the person in the rear suddenly gasped, causing the other four to turn around. "What is it?"

The last person held up their phone, their voice trembling slightly. "The drone... I think it recorded the whole thing."

The group: (⊙o⊙)

...

Meanwhile, after watching the five hikers depart, the youngest, Tong Hui, turned to Taoist Miao Zhen. "Grandmaster, just now..."

Taoist Miao Zhen waved a hand, cutting off Tong Hui’s question.

Taoist Xi Ning, for his part, clasped his hands in a bow to all four directions. "Please..."

Likewise, he had uttered only a single word when two auras, brimming with Daoist rhythm, emerged from the forest behind them.

The five Daoists immediately sensed the Daoist rhythm and snapped to attention, just in time to see two young men emerge from the woods. They walked side by side, smiling as they came to a stop before the group.

Gu Zhao looked at Taoist Xi Ning, then at Taoist Miao Zhen, a bit curious. "Are you both from the Huashan Sect? But I sense some differences in the Dharma Gates you cultivate."

Gu Zhao’s gaze focused on Taoist Miao Zhen.

There were many Daoists of Quanzhen Dao in Daluo Palace. Although the cultivation of the elder sects like the Dragon Gate Sect, the Sui Mountain Sect, and the Pure Sect each had their own focus, the fundamental Quanzhen Techniques were still very similar.

In his view, Taoist Xi Ning cultivated a Quanzhen Dharma Gate, likely the Huashan Sect passed down by Hao Datong. Taoist Miao Zhen’s Taoist True Qi, however, was quite different from the Quanzhen Dharma Gate.

Sensing the profound Magical Power and mystical Daoist rhythm emanating from the two, the Daoists instantly knew that the White Clouds had been their creation.

Hearing Gu Zhao’s question, Taoist Miao Zhen raised his hands in a salute. "I am from the Ancient Hua Mountain lineage passed down by Ancestor Chen. In addition to practicing the Quanzhen Dao Inner Alchemy Technique, I also cultivate the Innate Infinite Diagram and the Chen Ancestor’s Mystic Pointing Chapter."

"I see!" Gu Zhao said with understanding. He then looked at Taoist Xi Ning and Taoist Miao Zhen. "Daoists, would you be willing to see the Dharma Gates passed down by your ancestors flourish and gain prominence?"
