Chapter 817: Chapter 816: The Brotherhood
"Yu Han, how can you force someone into this kind of thing?" Li Hao said.
"Hao brother, I know you like Lin Qianqian, but I hope you two can be together. You two are the perfect match."
"But, Qianqian already has a boyfriend, and... her boyfriend is not willing to marry her," Li Hao said helplessly.
As soon as he finished speaking, Song Yuhan’s face turned pale. "Are you serious?"
"I’m not lying to you, this is absolutely true," Li Hao nodded. "You should just give up on this idea, you’re only going to hurt her."
"Why? You mean... Lin Qianqian’s boyfriend doesn’t love her?" Song Yuhan pressed.
"I’m just guessing. I’m not sure about the specifics."
"Then..." Song Yuhan’s tone slowed down.
Li Hao’s words forced her to admit.
The person Lin Qianqian liked must be a very outstanding boy. Otherwise, knowing her as she did, she wouldn’t like someone like Li Hao.
She had always thought that Li Hao liked girls, which was why he hadn’t confessed to Lin Qianqian. Now, it seemed she had been overthinking.
"Yu Han, actually you don’t need to worry at all. Even if the man Lin Qianqian likes doesn’t love her, the two of you being together would still be happy," Li Hao consoled her. "After all, you both are single, being together, you can take care of each other."
"That’s what I thought too, that’s why I wanted to set you two up," Song Yuhan said.
"In that case, I can only bless you," Li Hao said.
"Thank you," Song Yuhan said. "I will try my best, I’m sure I can succeed."
"Yu Han, I’m glad you can see it that way."
Song Yuhan smiled and said nothing further.
Li Hao ordered food, and the two began to enjoy the meal.
"Hao brother, cheers," Song Yuhan said, holding up her glass.
"Sure," Li Hao nodded and clinked glasses with her.
After drinking, Li Hao helped Song Yuhan order two desserts.
After they had their fill, Song Yuhan suggested, "Hao brother, it’s getting late, let’s go see a movie."
She wanted to strike while the iron was hot and deal with Lin Qianqian’s boyfriend.
Li Hao looked at her, his eyes flickered for a moment, but he ultimately declined, "Yu Han, no need, let’s arrange it for another day."
"No, let’s make it today!" Song Yuhan said.
"I don’t have time today," Li Hao tactfully refused.
"I understand," Song Yuhan looked down, masking her disappointed expression.
She had thought Li Hao would agree, but...
"Hao brother, how about tomorrow then?" she suggested.
Li Hao thought for a moment, feeling it was okay to agree. After all, he too wanted to meet Lin Qianqian’s boyfriend and see what he looked like.
"Alright."
Li Hao nodded in agreement.
"Yu Han, you go back first, I want to stay here alone for a while."
"Okay, I’ll leave first," Song Yuhan said. "Then I’ll see you at the cinema tomorrow!"
"Mhm," Li Hao nodded and looked out the window.
Song Yuhan got up and left the private room.
Exiting the hotel, she pulled out her phone and dialed Lin Qianqian’s number.
Dialing tone—
Lin Qianqian’s phone rang a few times and was then picked up.
"Hello, Qianqian," Song Yuhan got straight to the point. "Do you have time tonight to go shopping?"
"Yu Han sister, I don’t have time tonight, there’s a dinner party I’ve already turned down. Let’s talk another day."
Hearing her say this, Song Yuhan felt sad.
"Alright, we’ll contact another day."
"Bye."
Song Yuhan hung up the phone.
"Haha..." Song Yuhan gave a bitter smile and walked towards the parking lot.
She got into her car and started the engine.
The vehicle slowly moved forward, weaving through the road until it suddenly stopped.
Song Yuhan stepped on the brake, turned her head, and noticed a black sedan blocking her way in the middle of the road.
Song Yuhan was momentarily stunned, then quickly realized what was happening.
"Damn, who’s blocking my way?" she cursed angrily, then took out her phone and called her chauffeur Chen.
Chen soon arrived.
"Young Madam, what’s wrong?" he asked.
"Go and check the front," Song Yuhan said coldly. "That black sedan—I find it very suspicious, as if it’s intentionally intercepting me."
Chen nodded, got out of the car, and walked up to the black sedan to knock on the window.
From inside the car, a man’s icy voice, carrying a warning, echoed.
"Who are you? Why are you knocking on my window?" he demanded.
"My master asked me to inquire why you are blocking Young Madam’s way," Chen said sternly.
The driver of the black sedan rolled down his window.
He was wearing sunglasses, making it impossible to discern his features.
Chen eyed him briefly, noting his young age, and then said, "Your master—must be the owner of this black sedan that intercepted our Young Madam."
"If you know, that’s good," the driver scoffed coldly. "I advise you not to meddle in affairs that don’t concern you, or else, your young master won’t be able to protect you."
Chen was taken aback, his expression immediately darkened, and he demanded unhappily, "Are you threatening me?"
"Yes," the driver replied coolly.
"Fine, let’s try then."
Chen, quick-tempered, was immediately infuriated by the threat, and swung a punch.
"Bang—"
Their fists collided with a dull thud, each taking a step back after the impact.
"Young fellow, you have good moves. I’d like to fight you, but..." Chen frowned, "if you’re here to cause trouble, I advise you to leave early, or you’ll pay the price."
"Your talk is too much."
"Then, I’ll make you wish you were dead," Chen grunted and lunged at the driver.
The driver dodged and counterattacked.
A minute later, Chen was at a disadvantage.
"Damn, to think that I would lose to a whippersnapper, it’s a disgrace!"
He swore, wishing he could tear the young man to pieces.
"I think you were too careless. I’m just a rookie, and yet an old hand like you can’t handle me?"
The young man said contemptuously and continued his assault on Chen.
After more than ten minutes of fighting, Chen’s moves became disordered, and he was forced to retreat step by step.
"Don’t be smug; one day, you’ll fall into my hands!"
"Heh."
The young man sneered dismissively, then kicked Chen in the stomach.
"Bang!"
Chen fell heavily to the ground.
Song Yuhan watched from a distance, her eyes showing shock.
She had never expected this gentle-looking, refined young man to be so formidable!
Clearly, Chen was no match for him!
Chen clutched his stomach, his face twisted in pain as he struggled to stand.
"Boy, you’re ruthless, but I’ll remember you," Chen hissed through clenched teeth, glaring at the other before turning to get into his car.
The young man watched his retreating figure, his lips curling up in amusement.
"Are you really a thief?"
Song Yuhan watched the black sedan disappear from sight before she withdrew her gaze.
"Yes!" Song Yuhan smiled faintly. "That’s why I thought of taking you shopping for clothes, then returning them to their owners."
"Young Madam, why didn’t you just call the police?" Chen asked, puzzled.
"I wanted to wait a while, until they stopped my car again, then have you escort me away."
"I see," Chen realized, "then, Young Madam, we should hurry along."
"Right."
The two left the hospital and drove to the city center.
Chen parked the car near a supermarket, led Song Yuhan to a high-end commercial area, picked a few clothes, and then took her back to the apartment.
Song Yuhan changed into new clothes, applied makeup, and only then did she leave the apartment to head to a café.
