"Stop right there," a cold voice emanated from behind the desk at that moment.
Liu Yun halted in her tracks and turned to look.
She saw Chen Zheng sitting there with a gloomy expression.
"President Chen!" she called respectfully.

"A miscarriage by accident?" Chen Zheng narrowed his eyes, a sharp glint flickering within them.
Liu Yun felt a chilling sensation creeping up her spine.
She didn’t understand how Chen Zheng had become so acute all of a sudden, as if nothing could be hidden from him.
"Yes, an accidental miscarriage."
"Ha..." Chen Zheng let out a cold laugh, "Your lies are well-crafted, befitting of a professional actress."
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, if I’m not mistaken, the bastard in your belly could never be mine. It must be someone else’s, right?" Chen Zheng spoke coldly, his face full of mockery.
"You’re talking nonsense," Liu Yun glared at him, her cheeks flushed with anger and embarrassment.
Chen Zheng mockingly curled his lips, "Don’t forget that years ago, you had an abortion in the hospital and were even photographed. It’s been so long, do you still want to deny it?"

"Chen Zheng, by what right are you arresting me, do you know who my father is? My father is the mayor!" Liu Yun yelled desperately.
"Is that so? Your father being the mayor only further proves that you’re promiscuous. I will personally take you to the prosecutor’s office," he replied coldly.
Liu Yun trembled with anger yet was powerless to do anything.
She knew that if she were really sent to the police station, her life could be ruined.
"Chen Zheng, I won’t let you succeed. I will pursue this matter to the end," Liu Yun said through gritted teeth.
"Hehe! I hope you have the capability," said Chen Zheng mockingly.

"You’re not Liu Yun!" the secretary said coldly, "Our manager has already approved your resignation. Now, get lost immediately!"
