Chapter 379: Chapter 379: Tossed and Turned All Night

"Liu Zheng, I know what you’re capable of. In this world, what illness is really challenging? For the most part, they’re all within your grasp, so I’m still full of confidence in you."

"Cut it out. Stop flattering me. I’m telling you, the more pressure you put on me, the less I can actually face it all. It’s better if you just quit while you’re ahead."

"Alright, enough of this nonsense. I need to hurry. I’ve got other things to deal with. Besides, I’ve already submitted the plan for the site and they seemed quite satisfied with it."

"What? They’re quite satisfied? What do you mean? Isn’t this supposed to be your investment in a factory? How did ’they’ get involved?"

"Do you really think I’ve got the energy and time to set up a factory here? I’m telling you, I can’t put all my money into this either. Plus, according to your plan, spanning two villages, this investment plan requires more than double what I’d initially thought. So, I had no choice but to look for a partner."

"Sorry about that but if I want to control both villages, that’s the only way. I know it’s a big sacrifice for you, but this way, I believe we will get a good return later on, so don’t worry about it."

"Save it. Less of your pie in the sky, who knows what will happen when the time comes. Anyway, I’ve made my decision and I definitely won’t regret it. Besides, I can’t lose all my money on this, so I need to have some balance in my mind."

"Businesspeople must have their own ways of doing business, I guess. I don’t really understand that. Alright, then, just do as you please, but hurry it up. We can’t delay this any longer."

"I know, do you think I’m idle right now? I’m working on it. I’ve put everything else aside and am focusing on this project. Okay then, tomorrow afternoon, no, it should be tomorrow morning. Try to make it in the morning, and we’ll meet in town."

"Okay, got it."

After speaking, he just nodded and then hung up the phone.

Just then, Liu Yang came in from the canteen carrying two meals.

"We’re a bit late, so there wasn’t much left. I just had them throw something together. If it’s not to your taste, never mind, I’ll go buy you something from the entrance."

"No need, I’m not that hungry right now. Go ahead and eat. I’ve got some things to think about. Later, take a closer look at the child in the ward to see if there are any issues, then come and tell me."

"Alright, I got it."

After saying that, he just nodded and then turned back to his seat, continuing to stare out the window.

Liu Zheng’s mind was no longer occupied with just the clinic. He needed to include the entire village in his plans to ensure nothing was neglected.

Liu Zheng probably hadn’t considered that the night would pass so peacefully.

Furthermore, the child seemed to be quiet through the night, except when he noticed the young man getting out of bed repeatedly to check the next room. It was apparent that he was someone with a strong sense of responsibility.

Just judging by his behavior, Liu Zheng estimated that there probably wouldn’t be a problem, at least it confirmed that he had not misjudged the person.

The next morning, Liu Zheng had woken up early. He hadn’t disturbed the other; glancing at the clock, it was already 7:00 AM.

According to the hospital’s normal procedures, rounds didn’t start until 8 AM. If the child was confirmed to be fine after the rounds, then the parents could proceed with discharge formalities today.

Liu Zheng watched Liu Yang running back and forth all night, and he indeed toiled a lot. That’s why Liu Yang was still sound asleep at the moment.

Liu Zheng got out of bed slowly, thinking that since the other had been up all night and had hardly asked him to do anything, with plenty of time left in the morning, he would go to the canteen and get him something to eat; otherwise, when Liu Yang woke up, he might miss out on breakfast.

Perhaps Liu Zheng made a bit of noise descending, or Liu Yang was just a light sleeper, because as soon as Liu Zheng sat up, Liu Yang’s eyes snapped open, and with a jolt, he sat up in bed.

"What’s wrong, did something happen?"

This sort of reaction seemed to come naturally to Liu Zheng.

Every night, as he lay in bed, this was how he was. Any sound of knocking, and he would think it was an emergency case, and no matter how tired, he would instantly become wide-awake.

"Ha, no, don’t be so anxious. There’s still some time, so I thought of getting you something to eat from the canteen."

"Oh, you scared me. I thought something had happened. Never mind, I’ll go later. I’ll just grab a bit, and besides, I don’t usually eat breakfast. Or how about I go get you something instead?"

"How could I let you do that? You’ve been up all night. I know you’ve been up several times. How is it, no trouble over there?"

"No, the parents were very cooperative. They’d check on their kid periodically and found no significant issues, so we can be relieved."

"What do you say then? Shall we go together to the canteen for a bite? Regardless of whether or not you feel like eating, as a medical professional, I must tell you, breakfast is the most important meal of the day for the body."

"You’re right, I understand the importance, but if I’m not hungry, what can you do? Okay, I’ll have a little something. Let’s go together."
