Chapter 376: Chapter 376 I Want to be Alone
"How can that be okay? If we don’t celebrate a little, how can I show my celebratory feelings? Come on, you choose a place, I’ll find a couple of people, and then we can celebrate properly together, okay?"
"If you really want to celebrate with me, I have one condition right now. I don’t know if you can agree to it, but if you really do, then I’ll consider it the best gift for my new position."
"Sure thing, Dr. Liu, as long as it’s within my power, there’s absolutely no problem. What do you mean?"
"You know I’ve already taken up my new post. There are many things in the village waiting for me to deal with, so I might not be able to look after the clinic here."
"Oh, you mean that? No problem. When your clinic has patients, I can arrange for doctors to be introduced to you. That way, you can rest assured. And if you encounter difficult and complicated diseases, I can also have the doctors call you for advice. Don’t worry, nothing will be delayed."
"No, that’s not what I mean. What I mean is, I’m short on hands right now, and so, I want to take someone from your side."
"You, what did you just say? Take someone? Who do you want? Also, our doctors all have formal positions, so it seems a bit inappropriate to let them go to the village clinic now. Besides, what about them personally? Do they, too, wish to go?"
"No no no, I don’t want any of your staff doctors. After all, they’ve been working at the hospital for such a long time, so there’s no need for me to do that. I’m not into the business of poaching. What I want are just the interns."
"Oh, interns, that’s easy. Just tell me, how many do you want? 10 or 5? Any number is fine. We’ve got quite a few of them this time, and our hospital can’t handle so many anyway."
"No need for so many, just one will do. The kid who helped me just now, I’ve got my eye on him. Moreover, I’ve discovered that he’s quite excellent in his thinking and in various aspects, so I believe he’s a talent that, if well nurtured, is very hard to come by."
"Are you referring to the person you were talking to earlier? There are indeed quite a few interns who came today, I can’t remember his name off the top of my head. Just perfect, I’ll have a look at the documents. Please wait a moment."
Director Xiao was in charge of this area, so it was very convenient for him to look things up.
Finally, he began meticulously searching through a thick stack of documents and eventually, pulled out a resume from the middle.
"Oh, and would you believe it, this person really does have a connection with you. Look at his name, you’re Liu Zheng, and he’s Liu Yang."
As he spoke, Director Xiao handed over the documents to Liu Zheng, who simply took them in his hands and briefly scanned the resume on top.
Essentially, it was a college graduate with virtually no social experience to speak of - in other words, a blank slate.
"Yes, that’s right, this is the person. Now, I’m asking you for him, there shouldn’t be a problem, right? You can think of it as a congratulatory gift for me. Rest assured, theoretically, interns here don’t get any payment, right? No worries, I’ll pay him a salary. I won’t have him work for nothing."
"But Dr. Liu, I must remind you of this, you must get his consent. If he is willing to go with you, then I definitely won’t object, but whatever benefits you agree on between yourselves, that has nothing to do with me."
"What, does his school have some kind of collaboration with you? Does that mean, if they intern here, you can issue some sort of certificate for them?"
"Don’t worry about that. When he’s finished interning with you, I can stamp a certificate for him, too. That will prove he’s stayed in our hospital. You don’t need to overthink it. Besides, I have many excellent people here; some have even won scholarships and awards for project research. Why not take a more careful look and choose from them again?"
"You mean to say, this kid hasn’t done anything special in school, so you don’t want him following me? That is, you don’t think he’s the best one, right?"
"Look, isn’t it all written on his resume? And it’s all pretty clear, so I think you should consider it carefully once more. With so many people to choose from, you can pick anyone. Rest assured, I guarantee you there won’t be any issues."
"No need, all the honors he could have won in school are just theory, without practical substance. So, I don’t value that much. On the contrary, I value what he’s shown during the actual handling process. I care about that, and I choose him. Liu Yang, good, no problem. Just wait, I’ll talk to him in a bit."
"Well then, if someone catches the eye of Dr. Liu, that boy must have some serious luck. Alright, talk to him later. As long as he’s agreeable, I have no objections on my end."
As the two were conversing, there was a knock on the door. Director Xiao called out to allow entry, and then saw Liu Yang hurry in with a CT scan report in hand.
"Director Xiao, Dr. Liu, why don’t you have a look? There seems to be some issue with his CT scan report."
Finally, Liu Zheng took the report and the scan in his hands and examined them closely, before turning back to look at Director Xiao.
Director Xiao’s eyebrows were furrowed slightly, as he seemed to realize that there was indeed a problem identified. Upon seeing Liu Zheng’s analysis and judgment skills, he acknowledged they were quite commendable.
"Goodness, Dr. Liu, your eyes are sharp as a hawk. There’s indeed a slight hemorrhage here, and the bleeding seems to be very minimal, probably between two and three milliliters."
"Yes, because the bleeding volume is so small, the child regained consciousness quickly. But whether or not this area will bleed again, nobody can say for sure. Right now, the most important thing is, this child must remain in the hospital for observation."
