Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Invitation

"You, how did you come over? What’s wrong, is there something uncomfortable with you?"

"Yes, I’m feeling a bit unwell, so, I want you to check me out."

"Unwell? What’s wrong? Last time I saw you, you were fine. Did you eat something, or catch a cold maybe?"

"No, just feeling a bit unwell, but it’s not convenient to check here at your place. How about you find some time to visit my house, and you can check me out yourself?"

This sudden remark left Liu Zheng a bit bewildered, but he quickly realized what the woman was implying.

"Oh, so this issue of yours really requires targeted treatment, and it seems that no one but me can handle it. It also must be done late at night, right?"

"You sly dog, you know very well what this is about, asking all these questions. Are you free tonight? I’ll make you some dumplings."

"Ah, dumplings, nothing tastes better than dumplings, and nothing’s more fun than..."

Liu Zheng didn’t finish his sentence, but such frivolous talk was already commonplace between him and Li Yanling, so much so that it had become a non-issue for them both.

"Speaking of which, how’s Xiao Kai recovering? You’re so bold to invite me to your house for dumplings today. What about Xiao Kai? Is he not at home?"

"No, Xiao Ou has an event tonight, so his teacher took the team out, and they won’t be coming back until later."

"I would like to come, but I can’t get away tonight. I have some important things to do. But dropping by for dumplings and then coming back, that should still be fine."

"What do you mean important things? You don’t open the clinic at night anyway. Besides, you don’t need to stick around here. Or if it’s inconvenient for you, how about I come to you?"

If this had been before, Liu Zheng might have agreed, but now he had two dangerous viruses in his room, and he didn’t want that to get out.

The critical thing was that he needed to observe their condition at night for the accelerated treatment, including administering medication, which had to be done.

"No, it’s really not convenient. How about this, you go back first, and when there are fewer people around in the afternoon, I’ll come over and taste your cooking. Then we can chat, okay?"

"Fine, it’s a deal then. Don’t stand me up, or I’ll never let you off the hook—I’ll pinch you to death."

Li Yanling said this while motioning with her fist in front of him.

Even though there was no physical contact between them at that moment, just the expression and gesture made Liu Zheng feel a sudden pang below.

Maybe that was the kind of psychological suggestion he was talking about.

Indeed, this woman was challenging to handle. Ever since being with her, he found himself entangled with her ceaselessly, to the point where Liu Zheng had thought about how to break free.

With these women, everything is so ambiguous. He was at a loss, not knowing where to go or whom to choose.

In the moment, he found it challenging to make a choice, but he never took these matters to heart anyway.

That afternoon, he saw a few more patients, but to Liu Zheng, those were minor issues, hardly worth mentioning.

By 6:00, he looked outside and saw no one walking through the village.

The village was always like this, and usually, after dark, people rarely visited each other’s homes.

Families would either be cooking dinner or doing other things at home. Only some men who had arranged to drink together would go back and forth a bit, but even they wouldn’t stay outside long.

From the outside, one might say there was hardly any nightlife in the village, but how would a villager understand what nightlife is?

Yet, Liu Zheng liked this kind of life. He enjoyed the peaceful and fulfilling life it gave him.

After taking care of everything at the clinic, he hurriedly locked the door. As long as he didn’t leave the village, he wouldn’t miss anything important.

Usually, if villagers felt unwell, they would come to his clinic during the day. At night, unless it was an emergency, they generally wouldn’t disturb him.

Arriving at Li Yanling’s door, he noticed it was left ajar for him as if she had intentionally left a door open for him.

He gently pushed open the door and entered, then immediately locked it behind him.

Before even entering the room, he saw wisps of steam drifting out—it seemed the water was already boiling, ready for dumplings as soon as he arrived. Liu Zheng was about to enjoy a hearty meal.

"Well done, I didn’t expect you to be so quick, already wrapping so many dumplings by yourself."

"That’s nothing. If there were more people, I could’ve made even more. Alright, I’ve been waiting for you. If you hadn’t come, I would have fed the dumplings to the dogs and not let you have any."

"Heh, listen to you, how could you bear to feed dumplings to dogs? Am I less than a dog to you?"

While saying this, Liu Zheng walked up behind her and reached out with both hands to grab her proud peaks firmly.

A faint sound escaped from Li Yanling’s mouth.

"Enough, stop messing around. I’ll hurry up and cook the dumplings, you must be starving, right?"

Li Yanling turned around and began putting the blanched dumplings in the soup pot.

After covering the pot with its lid and just as she turned around, Liu Zheng was there waiting to embrace her in his arms and immediately began kissing her.

Liu Zheng was quite the figure in the village, the envy of many housewives.
