Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Awesome Curis

Liu Zheng’s gaze unintentionally swept over the culottes Yang Jing was wearing, and his heartbeat involuntarily quickened.

Yang Jing seemed to notice his stare and hurriedly pulled down her pant legs, her face slightly reddening with a flush.

Liu Zheng felt a bit embarrassed, not knowing whether he had revealed his thoughts. He quickly averted his gaze, turned his head away, and tried to shift his attention. He cleared his throat and deliberately started to make small talk, "Yang Jing, the weather is quite nice today."

His voice trembled a bit as he struggled to control his emotions.

Yang Jing smiled slightly, perhaps the pain was too much, so she needed to divert her attention; thus, she looked at Liu Zheng with a hint of playfulness in her eyes, "Yes, the weather is indeed nice. But, were you staring at me just now?" Her voice carried a teasing tone, but also revealed a subtle excitement.

Liu Zheng felt embarrassed. He suppressed the excitement in his heart and tried to explain, "Ah, no, I just happened to see your pants. I didn’t mean anything else by it." His voice was somewhat stuttering, and he didn’t know if his explanation would convince Yang Jing.

Yang Jing blinked, clearly amused by Liu Zheng’s explanation, "I see, you just happened to notice my culottes. It seems my choice has caught your attention." She deliberately emphasized "culottes," the corners of her mouth lifting slightly.

Liu Zheng’s face turned even redder, and he smiled sheepishly, "Uh, yes, your choice is really quite unique. But, I didn’t mean anything else by it, I just thought you looked very nice in them." His voice was low, and he gestured with his eyes for Yang Jing not to continue this topic.

Yang Jing burst into laughter, her gaze on Liu Zheng softening, "Liu Zheng, everyone in the village says you’re quite an interesting person, and it turns out you really are. It’s okay, I was just teasing you. But thank you for the compliment." Her smile was warm and sincere.

Liu Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, feeling he had finally escaped the awkward situation. He smiled, a pleasant emotion rising in his heart, "That’s good, I was just speaking the truth. But let’s continue with our work, and not let these little things affect our efficiency." There was a touch of relief and contentment in his voice.

Liu Zheng stared intently at Yang Jing’s waist, his gaze filled with concentration and confidence. He gently patted Yang Jing’s back, his technique gentle yet skilled.

"Yang Jing, the protrusion of your lumbar intervertebral disc is not severe, just a minor issue." Liu Zheng’s voice was gentle and professional, "But you need to take some measures promptly to relieve pain and prevent further worsening."

Yang Jing looked at Liu Zheng with surprise; she had not expected his technique to be so magical. She asked softly, "Dr. Liu, how did you determine that I had a lumbar disc protrusion?"

Liu Zheng smiled as he explained, "I discerned it from your symptoms and your spine’s reaction. Your lumbar spine was showing some degree of compression, causing you to experience lower back pain and pain in your lower limbs. By feeling your back, I could sense the abnormal reactions of the spine. Also, I took into account your medical history and physical examination results for a comprehensive judgment."

Yang Jing couldn’t help but exclaim, "Dr. Liu, your technique is amazing! I have been to many hospitals before, but none of the doctors could diagnose my problem as accurately and quickly as you."

Liu Zheng humbly smiled, "This is just a requirement of my profession, and the result of years of experience. The characteristic of traditional Chinese medicine is to focus on details and overall observation, diagnosing conditions through touch and observing the patient’s reactions. I simply did what I ought to do."

Yang Jing looked at Liu Zheng with gratitude, "Thank you, Dr. Liu. I’m really fortunate to have met you, as your diagnosis has given me a clearer understanding of my condition."

Liu Zheng gently patted Yang Jing’s shoulder, "Don’t worry, Yang Jing. I will prescribe some Chinese herbs to help alleviate your pain and restore the function of your lumbar spine. At the same time, I will also give you some advice, including taking rest, maintaining proper posture, and doing appropriate exercise."

Yang Jing nodded with emotion, "Thank you, Dr. Liu. I will definitely follow your advice. I’m really fortunate to have met you, your technique is truly magical."

"For me, your illness is not even a problem. I have an ointment here, use it for three days and then take my homemade pills for another three days, and you’ll be healed," Liu Zheng said.

"Liu Zheng, I had no idea, you’re so young and yet your medical skills are already so advanced."

Liu Zheng shook his head with a smile, "Don’t make me sound too miraculous, Yang Jing. Doctors are just trying their best to help patients. I believe as long as you follow the treatment plan, your lumbar spine issue will definitely improve."

However, after their conversation ended and Yang Jing was preparing to leave, a piercing pain made it impossible for her to get up.

Yang Jing thought back to that feeling when she lay on the hospital bed, her face contorted with agony.

Her herniated lumbar disc had been troubling her for months, making her life extremely painful.

Whenever she tried to sit up or walk, stabbing pains would shoot through her lower back, as if a sharp knife was mercilessly piercing into her body.

The pain was a constant reminder, unbearable at times.

During the day, she felt utterly exhausted, her back unable to bear the normal load, and walking a few steps posed a significant challenge. She had to rely on a cane or the support of family members to move with difficulty.

At night, the agony turned into a nightmarish torment. Lying in bed, she couldn’t find a comfortable position, each slight movement triggering severe pain.

Her sleep was completely disrupted, often tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

Besides the physical pain, Yang Jing also endured tremendous mental pressure.

During that time, she couldn’t work normally, and her business nearly suffered. Had it not been for a good apprentice, it would be hard to say if her business could have continued.

But this was not the worst part; mainly, she felt like a burden and was guilty for the care and help from her family.

She longed to regain a healthy body, but the illness made her feel helpless and despondent.

Yang Jing’s suffering was not only physical but also mental.

She was always hoping to find a treatment that could solve her herniated disc issue, so she could have a healthy and happy life again.

However, in this long wait, she had to endure the torture of pain and persist on the path seeking hope.
