Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Everyone Has Difficulties

Li Yanling looked at Liu Zheng with a face full of disappointment and couldn’t help but pour out her heart to him, "Liu Zheng, I’m really fed up with Liu Qingshan! He’s simply a bastard!"

Liu Zheng was taken aback for a moment, then asked, "Li Yanling, why would you say that?"

Li Yanling sighed and explained somewhat helplessly, "Do you know? To support my child, I had no choice but to get in touch with Liu Qingshan. At first, I thought he could give me some renovation work to help me through tough times. But the reality turned out to be completely unexpected."

Liu Zheng asked curiously, "What exactly did he do to make you so angry?"

A flash of anger crossed Li Yanling’s eyes as she continued, "Liu Qingshan is not a decent person at all! He just wanted me to sleep with him, to be his social butterfly! He never gave me a single real renovation job! Every time we met, the most he would do was buy me some cosmetics and then disappear!"

After hearing this, Liu Zheng’s face showed a trace of anger, "That bastard! He clearly knew you needed help but exploited your plight to satisfy his own desires!"

Li Yanling nodded and continued to vent, "Yes! He has no sympathy or sense of responsibility for me at all! I hoped his help would solve my problems, but he just used me as a tool to satisfy his desires! I’m so disappointed!"

Liu Zheng looked at the tears in Li Yanling’s eyes and was filled with compassion, "Li Yanling, don’t be sad. It’s really unfortunate that you’ve encountered such a person, but don’t give up hope. There are still good people out there, believe me."

Li Yanling wiped away her tears and managed a small smile, "Thank you, Liu Zheng. I know there are still kind and honest people in the world. I won’t give up on my pursuit of a better future just because of a bastard."

Liu Zheng said encouragingly, "That’s right, Li Yanling, you have to be strong, believe in your own abilities. Don’t let one person’s shadow cover the brightness of the whole world."

Li Yanling nodded and said firmly, "Yes, I will continue to try, for my child and for myself. I will look for better opportunities and will not depend on people like Liu Qingshan anymore."

Liu Zheng said with a smile, "Li Yanling, you will definitely find your own opportunities and create a beautiful life for you and your child. Believe in yourself, believe in the future."

Li Yanling looked into Liu Zheng’s determined eyes and felt a surge of courage. She believed that as long as she didn’t give up and kept looking, she would find her own path of light.

At that moment, Liu Zheng hesitated as he took out his wallet and asked Li Yanling, "There’s not much here, but I hope it can be of some use to you."

Li Yanling saw the 500 yuan and smiled as she shook her head, saying, "Thank you for your kindness, but I cannot accept this money."

Liu Zheng was somewhat puzzled, knowing that Li Yanling was not well-off, so why wouldn’t she accept his help?

He tried to explain, "Li Yanling, I know we’ve just met, and it’s not a lot of money, but it’s not because I’m trying to show anything, I just want to help you. It reminded me of a sister who helped me when I was starting out in my career."

Li Yanling smiled at Liu Zheng and spoke softly, "I know your kindness, but I value my dignity and independence more. I don’t want anyone to think I accept charity just because I’m in need."

After hearing what Li Yanling said, Liu Zheng was filled with respect. He understood her perspective and her determination not to rely on others.

He nodded in agreement, showing respect, and said, "Alright, if you insist, I won’t press you. But if you need any help, whether it’s financial or otherwise, just let me know."

Li Yanling smiled and thanked Liu Zheng for his kindness, knowing her decision might have surprised him. But she believed she could overcome difficulties with her own efforts. She said to Liu Zheng, "Thank you for your understanding and support. I will remember your kindness. If I need help in the future, I’ll reach out to you."

"Liu Zheng, what did you say you studied just now? Traditional Chinese Medicine?"

Li Yanling looked at Liu Zheng, a flicker of surprise and curiosity crossing her eyes.

She hadn’t expected Liu Zheng to be studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, an industry which in her eyes had always been mysterious and unfamiliar.

She couldn’t help asking, "I’ve always been very interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but I know very little about its theories."

Liu Zheng smiled and nodded, his voice gentle as he said, "Yes, I’m a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine has been my passion and pursuit. The Traditional Chinese Medicine massage parlor that I’ve opened in Liu Family Gully is to let more people experience the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine."

Li Yanling, listening to Liu Zheng’s sincere words, felt an inexplicable touch of emotion. She sensed Liu Zheng’s passion and dedication to Traditional Chinese Medicine, and she couldn’t help but respect someone so devoted to their beliefs.

She couldn’t resist asking, "Mr. Liu, what is special about Traditional Chinese Medicine theory? Could you tell me about it?"

Seeing that Li Yanling had developed a strong interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liu Zheng couldn’t help but beam with joy. He picked up the conversation and said, "Traditional Chinese Medicine theory values the concept of holism and the idea of balance. It considers the human body to be an integral whole, with the internal and external influencing each other. We seek to cure diseases and maintain health by bringing into balance aspects such as yin and yang, qi and blood, as well as the organs."

Li Yanling listened with keen interest, imagining how Liu Zheng applied these theories in treatment. She thought someone like him was truly remarkable.

Unconsciously, her gaze drifted to Liu Zheng’s hands.

Liu Zheng noticed Li Yanling’s gaze lingering on his hands, feeling a subtle emotion stir within him.

At that moment, he gently took Li Yanling’s hand and held it softly.

Li Yanling was startled, unsure what Liu Zheng intended to do.

In this moment, both of their heartbeats seemed to quicken slightly.

Li Yanling felt the warmth and pulse from Liu Zheng’s palm, and her face flushed red. She looked at Liu Zheng shyly, her lips trembling slightly, without knowing what to say.

Liu Zheng quietly held Li Yanling’s hand, the warm touch accelerating his heartbeat for a moment.

He placed her hand in his palm and gently massaged it, feeling the smoothness of her skin between her fingers.

"Li Yanling, you’ve been feeling unwell lately, haven’t you?" Liu Zheng asked softly, his gaze focused and tender.

Li Yanling nodded slightly, her eyes meeting Liu Zheng’s as if a special bond connected them. Gradually, she began to feel the familiar energy emanating from Liu Zheng’s hand, a sensation that set her heart racing.

"Doctor Liu, I’ve been feeling chest tightness and shortness of breath, and I’m always easily fatigued. What’s wrong with me?" Li Yanling’s voice was soft and carried a hint of shyness.
