Chapter 428: Chapter 427: The Buried God Pattern, The Spirit of Origin

Having observed his surroundings, Li Jing frowned.

He now had a basic grasp of the environment of the shattered space.

However, there was no trace left by the people of the West Continent or the exploration team from the present world around him.

It was clear.

This large area, overlapped with the outside world due to the shattered space, didn’t contain any dangers and was not the target of the Supreme Court’s journey.

The people who had entered had already headed deep into the continent.

Then the question arose.

Which direction did they go?

This situation.

Honestly, it was a bit awkward.

The land beneath his feet was essentially a Small Secret Realm.

Though the geography of a Small Secret Realm wasn’t as extensive as the Big Secret Realm, its area could also be described as infinitely wide.

If he went in the wrong direction, Li Jing would be unable to locate the main force.

Thinking back now.

From the fact that there was no trace of anyone entering the overlapping area, it was not hard to infer that the Court clearly knew where their target was and flew straight toward it without touching down.

Seven days had passed, and they might be close to their target or had already arrived.

But it had to be said.

In these seven days of crossing the tribulation, Li Jing had missed too much.

The only consolation was.

The crucial holy relic for this mission was in his possession.

Without the holy relic, the Court’s goal might not necessarily be impossible to achieve, but the difficulty would definitely not be easy.

Li Jing still stood a chance, but the time left to him was likely not much.

But if he couldn’t determine the direction of the main force, even the crucial holy relic would be useless in his hands.

Just as he was troubled, the voice of Smoke Eye sounded in his ears.

"Master, given the situation, maybe it would be a good idea to simulate Holy Spirit Guidance."

"Holy Spirit Guidance?"

Li Jing hesitated for a moment then raised his eyebrows.

Holy Spirit Guidance is a basic item-finding divine art in the Supreme Faith System.

However, this divine art is not used to seek ordinary things or spiritual objects, but to find things with strong faith in a certain range.

In this situation, Holy Spirit Guidance did indeed seem like a good choice.

Many people from the Supreme Court and the Church had come on this trip, they must have similar treasures on them.

The problem was...

Anyway, let’s give it a shot.

Now it’s like throwing a hail Mary.

Without much thought, Li Jing focused his heart.

Smoke Eye autonomously transformed the surging spiritual power within him into holy power, and then simulated the basic divine art, Holy Spirit Guidance.

A divine art was generated.

An transparent little figure that looked like a petit fairy with uneven wings appeared beside him, flew around him twice, and then showed a somewhat confused expression.

Li Jing frowned at this.

The little fairy was created by Holy Spirit Guidance.

It had made some discoveries now.

But there were too many of them.

And they came from all directions, to the point where it didn’t know which direction to guide Li Jing.

This situation was precisely the "problem" that Li Jing had been worried about.

Ignoring for now the fact that a prosperous Wisdom Civilization once existed in this shattered space, according to the history of the West Continent, this space was shattered due to a complete fallout between the Supreme Court and the War Worship Divine Court.

Only God knows how many practitioners of faith systems, even God Emissaries and Saints, were buried here.

The objects they left behind must be imbued with strong faith.

And their treasures, most likely, would be much more significant than those of the people who proceeded them.

Even after tens of thousands of years, the faith embodied within them remained strong enough.

Seeing the little fairy looking off in a daze, not knowing which direction to guide him, Li Jing spoke up.

"Point in the direction where the faith is the strongest."

Facing these words, the little fairy blinked very human-like, sensed intently after closing her eyes and then stood on Li Jing’s shoulder to point to the east.

With the little fairy providing guidance, Smoke Eye dutifully simulated a high-level divine art used for sky control called Divine Movement within Li Jing’s body.

Li Jing didn’t delay, he moved and transformed into a golden light shooting eastward.

Having entered the Ninth Realm and fully mastered the rules of space.

Li Jing was already capable of travelling greater distances through space, but invoking the rules of space just for travel was simply too strenuous.

Using the power of rules requires the consumption of immortal aura, not just internal power.

Li Jing’s celestial aura was naturally abundant.

But compared to the spiritual power with four sources acting as "energy reserves" that are hard to exhaust, the celestial aura was limited after all.

It would be better to save it if you can.

...

The high-level divine art of Divine Movement was very fast.

Li Jing’s body was filled with spiritual power converted into holy power by Smoke Eye via Mirror Flower, Water Moon, whih was on par with the Ninth Realm.

This speed, even if he wanted to slow down, he couldn’t.

In a short period.

Li Jing had covered a distance nearly equivalent to twice the size of Longyu. He arrived at a place with relatively well-preserved heritage building groups, where the little fairy on his shoulder was dancing excitedly.

Seeing this, Li Jing frowned as he held himself aloft with sky control.

The site of the heritage building complex showed no signs of the main force having passed through or stayed.

However, since the little fairy had directed him to this place, there must be some treasure hidden here that had gathered a high concentration of faith power.

After all, he had asked the little fairy to guide him to the place with the strongest faith gathering.

Being so uniquely prominent, the item certainly wouldn’t be ordinary.

He looked down at the ground.

What met his gaze was a field of ruined buildings.

At first glance, there was nothing worth noting.

Just as he was about to consult someone, the little fairy erupted into flight. It landed jubilantly atop a completely collapsed palace and beckoned towards Li Jing with tiny gestures.

It was adorable.

Unfortunately, the little fairy was a product of Divine Art and could not vocalize, making communication through speech impossible.

But, its intention was easy to understand.

What fascinated the fairy was buried beneath the collapsed palace.

Seeing this, Li Jing went forward, catching the little fairy and putting it back on his shoulder before stamping his foot hard.

"Boom!"

A deafening blast shook the ground.

Huge amounts of rubble were jarringly scattered.

Smoke Eye had emulated Li Jing’s spiritual power into Holy Power, preventing him from using Orthodox Immortality Path magic skills.

However, the strength of his physical body still remained.

Having undergone Ninth Realm Tribulation, how horrifying was his physical body?

A casual kick from him could easily crush a Great Demon of the Eighth Realm.

As the rubble flew, a skeleton that looked like white jade emerged from the ground.

Upon seeing the skeleton, Li Jing was slightly stunned.

He hadn’t anticipated that the thing the little fairy brought him to was a skeleton.

He examined the skeleton.

The skeleton was quite large, estimated to be about three meters tall.

On its back, there were several asymmetric, protruding wing-like skeletons.

Seeing the wing-like skeletons, Li Jing’s brow furrowed.

The existence of these wing-like skeletons indicated that the owner of this skeleton had been a God Servant Angel, much like Wina, in life.

But if he counted the remaining wing-like skeletons...

If he made a complete reconstruction of them based on the extent of their remains, the creature must have had at least twelve wings in life.

Twelve wings.

This couldn’t possibly be a God Servant Angel.

An angel in servitude could have at most eight wings.

According to the records of the Supreme God System, the ones with the wings were barely the Eight-winged Angels.

In the Supreme God System, the Main God did not have wings.

Therefore...

This skeleton must have belonged to a different divine system.

The War Worship God System perhaps?

Li Jing narrowed his eyes.

While he was examining the skeleton, the little fairy landed on its skull, signaling anxiously.

Li Jing felt somewhat confused.

He had initially thought the little fairy had guided him to this skeleton, but its current behavior suggested otherwise.

The object fused with the intense faith it brought him to was not this visible skeleton but inside its skull.

After taking a careful look at the skeleton, Li Jing reached for the Unnamed Taoist Tool.

This skeleton had been buried here for at least tens of thousands of years.

Besides the remaining wings, the rest of the skeleton was quite well-preserved, looking like white jade.

It was clearly very tough to the touch.

The skeleton’s original owner must have been extraordinary. The remains of his wings weren’t from the passage of time, but from the battle that killed him.

Using the Unnamed Taoist Tool seemed like a safer choice.

Physically breaking it or even attacking it with the Flying Sword Blue Edge might not cause any substantial damage.

If he were to use the Flying Sword Blue Edge now, it would be hard for him to use his spiritual power to boost it while maintaining the Holy Spirit Guidance.

The little fairy’s will to live was surprisingly strong.

Having seen Li Jing reach for the Unnamed, the little fairy was scared into flying away from the skull as quickly as possible.

Seeing this, Li Jing shot it an unintended glance.

This little creature was surprisingly spiritual.

Even though it was made from Holy Spirit Guidance and would disappear once the Divine Art disengaged, its strong will to live made people feel it was unusual.

He raised the tool and swung it.

To avoid damaging the skeleton’s contents, Li Jing swung the Unnamed Taoist Tool as lightly as possible.

Even though the Unnamed Taoist Tool currently didn’t possess special power due to the damage, it inherently weighed like a mountain and could crush anything.

And in fact...

With the increase in repair rate, the weight of the Unnamed Taoist Tool was increasing constantly.

Had he not entered the Ninth Realm, Li Jing might not have been able to control the Unnamed Taoist Tool whose repair rate had unknowingly reached 10%.

The Unnamed descended.

With a "crack" sound...

...the skeleton’s skull had some slight fractures.

Its hardness was impressive.

Even though Li Jing had tried to be as gentle as possible, the force from this blow could be compared to the one that killed the New God.

The skeleton, which had been dead for tens of thousands of years, was still so strong.

One could only wonder just how terrifying it could have been in life.

Having not broken the skeleton with the first blow, Li Jing swung the Unnamed Taoist Tool again.

Another "crack" sound followed, and a part of the skull was shattered.

Subsequently...

A prism-shaped crystal appeared, emanating an unusual aura.

Upon seeing the crystal, the little fairy’s eyes widened in anticipation.

Seeing this, Li Jing spoke resignedly.

"What exactly are you?"

Facing this question, the little monster turned its head revealing an innocent expression, gawkily gesticulating its limbs.

Upon seeing this, Li Jing’s brow furrowed deep.

From the very beginning, he felt something was off about this little monster. It didn’t seem like a mere summoned entity, it seemed to have its own consciousness.

After looking straight at the crystal revealed inside the skull through the little monster, he confirmed his suspicion.

This little creature indeed has its own consciousness.

A deity from the Supreme God System?

Li Jing looked at the little monster who was randomly flailing its limbs and then dismissed the idea.

If it were the will of a deity from the Supreme God System, it wouldn’t be this weak.

It seems.

After the will of the Supreme God, he seems to have summoned another weird creature.

Considering the little monster helped him find the crystal and being born guided by the Holy Spirit, in essence, it had no combat power and didn’t pose any threat, Li Jing temporarily threw aside its origin, and bent over to pick up the crystal.

As the crystal entered his hand, he felt a trace of coolness.

It also gave Li Jing a sense of indescribable wonder, as if it contained a powerful force.

This... what is it?

Holding the crystal in his hand and studying it, Li Jing’s black pupils hidden beneath his golden colored eyes, changed to pure gold.

The Eye of True Vision, open.

Looking through this eye, Li Jing was stunned.

Unlike before, the bug-like ability of the Eye of True Vision to see the essence of things didn’t provide much information to him, but it did give him a key piece of information.

This...

Is a God Pattern.

A lower God Pattern.

Hss!

Li Jing gasped.

Due to the fact that the Supreme God didn’t have wings, he had always assumed that the skeleton was a more powerful angel from the War Worship God Clan, not a god.

A twelve-winged angel.

The Supreme God System didn’t have it, but couldn’t the War Worship God Clan have it?

But at this moment, holding the God Pattern in his hand, it is indicated that the skeleton was a Lower God!

Looking closely at the God Pattern in his hand, Li Jing looked around and his face gradually grew solemn.

Originally, he didn’t think the history of the Sea of Death recorded by the church was true.

Now it seems, this isn’t just fishy?

In this shattered space a Lower God has died.

Could this have been caused by a simple tiff between the Supreme Court and the War Worship God Clan?

Even if the Supreme Court has many messengers of God’s descent and many saints designated by the Main God, could they have killed a genuine Lower God?

The War Worship God Clan, who wiped out the Qingyuan Fairy Palace and other ancient cultivation forces of the East Continent, definitely wouldn’t have been taken for granted.

Moreover, in this creepy place, more than one lower god might have been buried...

This isn’t just Li Jing’s guess.

He’s holding the Lower God Pattern in his hand. How could he not think of the real purpose of the Supreme Court sending troops to the Sea of Death?

They’re here to recover the God Patterns!

With this thought, Li Jing speculated.

This might have been a god battlefield.

Where the Main God of both the Supreme God System and the War Worship God System fought against each other, leading to fragmented space.

It was even possible that this was the dwelling place of the entire War Worship God Clan, and the Supreme God System came to seize their territories, destroyed this place and wiped out the entire War Worship God Clan!

Taking a deep breath, Li Jing looked at the little monster.

"Stop acting foolish with me, I know you have your own consciousness. I’m not interested in your origin and I don’t want to pursue it."

While speaking, he revealed the God Pattern in his hand.

"Since you could lead me to this God Pattern, you must have the ability to find other God Patterns. Take me to them. If I’m in a good mood, I might give you one afterward."

Facing Li Jing’s words, the little monster no longer pretended to be ignorant and excitedly nodded, then suddenly disappeared like a popped bubble.

Seeing this, Li Jing was stunned.

The little thing just agreed, why did Holy Spirit Guidance automatically disperse?

In the midst of distraction, Li Jing felt something and looked beside him.

The next second.

Space near him twisted, a little monster with an identical appearance struggled to stick its head out of the twisted space, with a face that looked like it was struggling as hard as possible to squeeze out.

After finally squeezing out her neck with great difficulty, she stuck out her little tongue for a couple of breaths, no longer attempting to squeeze out and looked over with a pitiful face.

"..."

Li Jing.

His Eye of True Vision was still operating.

The bug-like effect told him that there was a certain connection between the little monster and the Supreme God System.

But she was neither a God Servant nor a Main God, but, true to her image, a real monster, a monster born in the Divine Domain of the Supreme God System.

There was something like Holy Power from supreme faith in her body.

Pure and abundant, with a close-to-nature vibe.

But that’s not the point.

The point is that the Eye of True Vision told Li Jing that the space distortion that trapped the little monster came from the Divine Domain of the Supreme God System, the territory of the Supreme God System.

Unlike Outer Realm Sky where the Sky Demon resided.

Eye of True Vision didn’t bring any recognition connected with the Big World on the other side, the Divine Domain of the Supreme God was the Divine Domain of the Supreme God, independent of the Big World.

This information could be considered an unexpected gain.

But compared to this, it would be more reliable to first get the little monster out.

This little creature is pretty impressive.

She could actually drill straight in from the Divine Domain of the Supreme God.

Despite getting stuck, the little creature resigned herself to seeking his help. But, the ability she possessed was something even the Supreme God might not have. From her, Li Jing could feel a strange power that was outside of the rules but not inferior to them.

This was a unique strength inherent to the little creature.

With a simple gesture, Li Jing manipulated the force of space causing a slight pause in the spatial distortion.

The young faery took advantage of the moment to break free. With a swift swipe of her hand, she smoothed out the remaining distortions in the space. Then she landed on Li Jing’s shoulder in a charming and innocent manner, swinging her little toothpick-like legs, and constantly chatting in her own language.

Seeing this, Li Jing felt amused and intrigued.

"You understand what I’m saying, but you can’t speak the common language?" he asked.

The question caused the faery to pause, appearing to contemplate the meaning of life, before resuming her own language.

Strangely enough.

Her speech transformed into intelligible words as it reached Li Jing’s ears.

"You mentioned the common language which I don’t understand because that’s not the lingua franca of the Supreme God Domain. Now you should understand me, right?"

"I can."

Li Jing nodded, then asked, "I can tell that you’re from the Supreme God Domain, but you are a unique existence. Do you have any connection with the Supreme God System?"

"Connection?"

The faery blinked and tilted her head.

"No fundamental relation, I’m a prime species. The so-called Supreme God System is just a term for the species evolved from silicon-based life forms. They’re strong and evolved well and even try to take advantage of me on various grounds. However, even their boss wouldn’t dare to force me."

"..."

Li Jing.

The information imparted by her word was a bit overboard.

Li Jing wasn’t familiar with the prime species.

But he knew about silicon-based life forms.

Most creatures, including humans, evolved from silicon-based forms.

So, the so-called gods were not much different from humans?

Adding that to the faery’s background...

It seemed like she is extraordinary!

Wasn’t the boss of the Supreme God System the Supreme God?

Through his Eye of True Vision, Li Jing could quickly deduce.

The young faery’s existence was indeed unique and she was quite capable, but she was essentially a creature without any combat power.

Yet, even the Supreme God would not dare to bully her.

After digesting the faery’s words, Li Jing enquired, "What should I call you?"

"They all call me the Spirit of Origin, you can just call me Ling Ling."

She chuckled.

"Alright."

Li Jing nodded.

The Spirit of Origin.

That sounded incredibly impressive.

Thinking to himself, Li Jing asked another question, "Can you tell me why you want the God Pattern?"

"It’s tasty."

Ling Ling replied with complete innocence and a brilliant smile.

"..."

Li Jing.

He had initially guessed that Ling Ling desired the God Pattern to become a god.

But her answer, "it’s tasty," left him a bit bewildered.

This little creature, was she treating the God Pattern like a snack?

No wonder even the Supreme God didn’t dare to provoke her.

She could just as well be the natural enemy of all gods, including the Supreme God System!

Despite her being weak.

But she could eat the God Pattern...

On thinking back...

If Ling Ling could eat God Patterns for snacks and the Supreme God didn’t eliminate her, then it’s probably because he couldn’t.

Just as he was speculating, Ling Ling looked at Li Jing impishly and said, "You’re unusual. This is the first time I’ve met one who could summon my consciousness to another world. Let’s keep the deal as we agreed, I help you find the God Pattern and you will give me a good one in return."

"I keep my word."

Li Jing smiled and handed her the God Pattern of a Lower God from his hand.

"There should be many God Patterns buried in this place. Take this one of Lesser God for now. Don’t despise it, consider it as a snack."

The light in Ling Ling’s eyes brightened seeing this. Without any politeness, she held the God Pattern, which was much larger than she was, and bit off a chunk.

Only heavens knew how strong her teeth were.

Just with a bite and the rigid God Pattern was missing a large chunk.

Watching this, Li Jing felt a chill run down his spine.

He felt that his judgement about Ling Ling having no combat power might have been misguided.

At least, this little one could prove highly destructive if she bit!

While contemplating this, Ling Ling gulped down the chunk of God Pattern she had bitten off and pointed towards the east.

"Let’s continue in that direction; there are God Patterns scattered all over this area. The east has the most, and they are of good quality too. However, venturing further might get dangerous. Some long-dead creatures with strong resentments have turned into Evil Spirits."

Evil Spirits?

Li Jing’s eyes brightened.

He didn’t know what Evil Spirits were.

But most probably, they could help him gain Essence Source!

Without hesitation, he took Ling Ling and flew towards the east.
