“What is this...?!”

Even with Miss Slime’s normally calm demeanor, she couldn’t help but let out a cry of fear and astonishment driven by instinct.

Although lacking human physiological features, Little Blue experienced fear for the first time since her birth, a fear unlike anything she had ever felt before.

Dizzy, limbs weak, thoughts turned to blankness, as if this emotion had transcended the physical and directly impacted her mind and soul.

This was the inevitable reaction of a lower being unable to withstand the gaze from a being of excessively high status and power.

Little Blue trembled uncontrollably, as if shocked.

“Hey, what are you doing?! Behave yourself!!!”

“Little... Little Blue?”

Simultaneously came the angry shouts of human soldiers and Lulu’s astonished and uneasy whispers, but Miss Slime could no longer feel them. A tremendous fear pressed upon her spirit, a burden far more terrifying than any mountain or boulder, leaving all her senses engulfed in chaos.

Within mere seconds, trembling turned into convulsions. Although a slime, Little Blue continued to ooze a faint blue slime from her mouth, unable to maintain her humanoid form, gradually melting away, the ropes binding her arms falling to the ground.

“Little Blue! Don’t scare me! What’s wrong with you?!”

Finally realizing something was amiss, Lulu disregarded the humans glaring nearby and hurried over, wanting to do something, but she didn’t understand what had happened to her good friend, whom she had only met since being captured. Although Spirit Butterfly possessed healing abilities, she hadn’t learned how to use them yet.

In the end, she could only anxiously watch like the other nonhuman girls.

The human soldiers were obviously startled by this eerie scene. After all, there were a variety of monster species with unbelievable abilities, and they didn’t dare to approach casually. They remained on guard while immediately sending someone to inform the commander and those more adept at handling such situations, the monster hunters.

Everything happening outside, Little Blue was unaware of. Her consciousness, at the moment that gaze descended upon her, suddenly found itself in a vast expanse of white, as if in an endless space.

She wasn’t sure what was happening, but Miss Slime saw it: high above, at the center of the world, a golden throne. She lifted her head and gazed up.

“Ah... Ahh...”

Her frail and elusive soul trembled.

What she beheld was a girl with shimmering black hair cascading like a long waterfall, her golden pupils flashing with enigmatic patterns, her figure draped in magnificent robes, appearing as the embodiment of supreme purity and radiance. With just a glance, that posture deeply engraved itself into Little Blue’s soul.

In the next instant, she was convinced of the significance represented by the presence on the throne.

“Oh, God...”

Trembling, she prostrated herself, falling to the ground, no longer daring to look directly at the incomprehensible greatness above.

At that moment, She spoke, then reached downward with Her smooth, white jade-like hand.

A gentle and soft voice resounded, yet didn’t resound. It instantly reached every corner of space, allowing the weak soul to understand and comprehend.

Unbeknownst to her, Little Blue’s kneeling posture was no longer forced, and her expression had become devout and admiring.

“Yes, everything is as you wish, O Supreme Goddess.”

.....................................

Outside, along with this unspeakable and incomprehensible communication, strange changes occurred. Before the soldiers could return with the monster hunters to investigate, the pale blue slime girl, who had been convulsing and breaking down, suddenly calmed down abruptly.

The transition from extreme motion to extreme stillness, especially in such circumstances, appeared particularly eerie. Even Lulu was startled, instinctively shrinking back. The human soldiers guarding them became visibly tense, gripping their weapons tightly, seemingly prepared for any contingency.

Just as Spirit Butterfly gathered her courage to approach and check on her friend, who seemed to have stabilized, Miss Slime’s abdomen suddenly lit up with a rich golden glow.

The golden light seemed like a crystal, rising like a star and spreading gradually like waves throughout Little Blue’s entire body. In a matter of seconds, the girl’s gelatinous pale blue body was completely dyed in a pure, translucent gold, even radiating outward through the slime’s form.

The diffusion, the transformation, seemed to portend some kind of impending marvel.

“Little Blue... Oh my!”

Just as Lulu touched the golden jelly-like body with her fingertip, she cried out in alarm and quickly recoiled her hand. In that instant, she felt indescribable pain and burning sensation, not only from her flesh but also from some higher power, punishing the insignificant beings attempting to interrupt this process.

“What are you waiting for? Kill that slime!”

A cry from the approaching monster hunters echoed from afar. They seemed to possess more experience in combating monsters than regular soldiers.

They had realized that something special was happening to Little Blue, although they probably didn’t understand the exact nature of it. Clearly, whatever was happening at this critical moment was no coincidence.

Prompted by the warning, the guarding soldiers immediately reacted without hesitation. They raised their spears in unison, disregarding the Spirit Butterfly girl who was leaning beside Little Blue, and viciously thrust them toward the glowing body of the slime lying on the ground with tightly shut eyes!

While most conventional physical attacks were ineffective against a slime’s body, the magic core was its fatal weakness. Although they hadn’t figured out where this slime’s magic core was, delivering multiple attacks was better than doing nothing.

“No, Little Blue!”

Witnessing this scene, Lulu’s mind went almost blank. She even forgot about the peculiarities of a slime’s body. She just threw herself over, desperately trying to protect Miss Slime, whom she had only recently met but had already become a close friend.

Just as Spirit Butterfly had said before, although she was afraid of death, there were things more important than life itself.

“Ugh...!”

Clutching the soft body of the slime tightly, Lulu subconsciously closed her eyes, waiting for the moment when her back would be pierced.

Suddenly, however, she heard a somewhat familiar voice tinged with a hint of mockery.

“Oh my, I didn’t expect you two to be so close~”

Accompanying the teasing voice was a series of tinkling sounds, like the continuous impact of sharp objects striking a heavy wall, but the intense pain from being stabbed didn’t arrive as expected.

Confused and perplexed, Lulu opened her eyes, only to catch sight of a translucent golden hand like crystal, resting on her shoulder, gently separating the tightly embraced girls.

“Little Blue! You... Wait? You are...”

The Spirit Butterfly girl lowered her head in pleasant surprise, but what met her eyes was not the familiar face she expected.

Instead, it was the petite figure of the mysterious girl they had encountered halfway while escaping from the cave, the one with black hair, delicate and cute in the chest area. Lulu remembered her vividly, so she couldn’t be mistaken.

Before her was still the body of the slime, but its color had turned into a translucent pale gold after being imbued with that golden light. Not only had its face transformed from Little Blue’s to that of the girl in the white robe, but its figure had also noticeably shrunk, which was why she had to lower her head earlier to see her face clearly.

Although she was originally a slime, she now exuded an aura of holiness and nobility akin to light, a sight almost unbelievable.
