Chapter 992: Chapter 769: Don’t Trust People Who Suddenly Change Their Attitude

The EAP project has a certain degree of confidentiality, so the project team chose the company’s meeting room for discussion.

Several consultants in the company who aspire to expand their business originally wanted to sit in, but were politely declined by Nan Zhubin and Chonghui.

This room is usually used by the company’s consultants for case exchanges, and now with only a few people sitting here, it still feels spacious. When Chonghui spoke, there was even a faint echo.

At this moment, after hearing Chonghui’s doubts, the project team fell silent for a while. This was a contemplative silence.

However, the young people lacking work and social experience racked their brains but couldn’t figure out what Boss Wang’s reaction was really about.

The front desk master’s student was the first to break the silence, hesitantly asking Nan Zhubin and Chonghui: "But according to what Zhuren said... isn’t Boss Wang backing down? He apologized in front of so many subordinates and made so many promises..."

"Once we finish handing over, we’ll be able to leave smoothly; and if we stay to do the so-called soothing conference, we could even earn extra..." The front desk master’s student blinked, "Isn’t that quite good?"

The two young consultants beside her nodded slightly. However, they weren’t the kind who were good at expressing themselves directly; in their hearts, they believed that since senior brother Chonghui had doubts, there must be some reason.

Now that the front desk master’s student acted as a mouthpiece, they just looked towards Chonghui, wanting to hear how senior brother would analyze it.

"Heh..." Chonghui chuckled.

This laugh wasn’t directed at the front desk master’s student’s question. The internal discussion of the project team always encourages brainstorming, and even the most basic questions from junior team members are not mocked but encouraged to be raised—as long as they’re not stupid questions that show a lack of foundation or serious study of books.

Chonghui’s laugh was targeted at Boss Wang.

"Anyone can put on a show," Chonghui said, "especially those who can reach the level of company president, even more so."

"The self-control ability of this Boss Wang in this regard is indeed strong, he managed to adjust his emotions on the spot and verbally backed down. It can only be said that to have achieved such a big career, no matter how absurd his usual behavior, he still has some skills in his professional field."

Chonghui emphasized: "Because of this, there must be deeper intentions in his heart."

At this point, Chonghui looked at Nan Zhubin.

Although he could intuitively sense abnormalities, Chonghui was still just hearing the third-party account from Nan Zhubin.

To analyze Boss Wang, it’s more logical for Nan Zhubin, who personally experienced that conversation, to do it.

Facing Chonghui’s gaze, Nan Zhubin nodded.

"At the time when he said these things, although Boss Wang’s words sounded nice," Nan Zhubin recalled, "his whole being was displaying—a kind of imbalance."

"A stable personality requires a process when undergoing psychological reconstruction. Either it’s collapsing and receiving help to rebuild oneself, or it’s slowly adjusting oneself over time."

"And when fully reconstructed, they not only won’t avoid their past behavior but will exhibit a kind of revengeful ’repentance’ behavior." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Recalling his observations in the office that day, Nan Zhubin shook his head.

"And none of these appeared in Boss Wang."

Looking at the group of young people at the table, Nan Zhubin raised a finger: "Firstly, his emotional reversal was too dramatic, completely contradicting his nature."

He looked at the project team: "Do you all remember what Boss Wang used to be like?"

Many of those present hadn’t faced Boss Wang directly, but Mo Kai hesitated for a moment and summed it up: "Opinionated, domineering."

Chonghui nodded, agreeing with Mo Kai’s summary. Others didn’t refute it; although they hadn’t met Boss Wang, over time, influenced by Nan Zhubin, Chonghui, and Mo Kai, they had formed some impression of Boss Wang.

And they were all clear about who brought about the project’s predicament.

"I still remember just before I entered, Boss Wang was scolding his subordinates," Nan Zhubin recalled, "roaring, slamming tables, shouting, his emotions were at an extreme peak."

"But just a few minutes after I pointed out his fear and analyzed the pros and cons, he suddenly backed down, apologized, spoke nice words, even mocked himself as ’confused,’ this shift was too abrupt."

At this point, Nan Zhubin modestly remarked: "Though I do have some insights in emotion calming and conversation, being able to quickly reverse a person’s cognition is beyond my capability."

The first half of that remark was indeed modest, as those present—especially Chonghui, Mo Kai, Xia Tian—knew that Nan Zhubin’s insights in emotion calming and communication were far more than "a bit."

But cognitive reversal is truly a challenging process. Even in a consulting setting, facing visitors with comprehensive information and solid consulting relationships, Nan Zhubin couldn’t guarantee correcting a visitor’s unreasonable cognition in a single 40-minute session.

Let alone in such an impromptu scenario, confronting Boss Wang.

Nan Zhubin explained: "From a psychological perspective, this violates the principle of personality consistency."

"While studying General Psychology, everyone must have memorized—the first characteristic of personality is its relative stability."

"Exemptions from this characteristic are problematic, and even not the type of problem that ’needs us,’ but the kind requiring medication, hospitalization," Nan Zhubin humorously added.
